Editor’s Letter
AM I READY FOR IT?
T
The more I approach to my wedding day, the more I recall Tina Arena’s song when she said “Gotta take a little time, a little time to think things over, better read between the lines, in case I need it when I'm older.” Marriage is one of the most amazing, loving and courageous of human acts – this moment when you make a lifetime promise to share the rest of your life with your partner on all levels, for good and for bad. There is nothing so foolish, nothing so profound, and nothing so unconditional. Lifetime relationships deepen and change lives vastly. They put you through ongoing flow of life obligations, and sometimes, destructive behaviors; criticism, contempt, condemn, abandonment, and adultery. And it is when you realize that intimacy was never about silky smooth erotic lingerie, late night cuddles, adventurous trips, and pizzawine movie nights, but rather a common ground where you both exist in your own inner light, individualism, and vulnerability without being broken, judged, or humiliated.
Perhaps, the answer to all of our conflicts is finding the right person whom we are eager to share our ‘divine whole’ with, that we are not afraid to sacrifice when the time comes. “Marriage is all about choices… real, proper, responsible choices” – that’s what people say. Well, let me rephrase the sentence to a more realistic one… marriage is all about sacrifices. In real life situations, our feelings don’t carry us to the right decisions; rather right decisions carry us to right emotions — and positive rewards. Rational decisions, on the other hand, accompanied with unwillingness to compromise and sacrifice, can truly generate disastrous conditions: loss of a child, loss of a home, all types of addictions, adultery, and a whole lot of "I’m tired of trying." Marriage is not a chapter that can easily end with a divorce. Just because you feel you can file for divorce doesn’t mean you should. That’s redeeming love, the kind of love you were born to enjoy and experience its fruits. The kind of bond that longs for faithfulness, cultivates hope, and necessitates compassion. Marriage is not fair. It is for richer or for poorer, sickness or health, and for better or worse. Couples who have long-term happy relationships are not merely luckily privileged. They are individuals who choose each other every single morning, share crucial and insignificant decisions, respected one another, and above all, sacrifice when in deep hurt. A wise lady once told me, a thirsty person does not need water to be full. A thirsty person needs to flood another person with water, only to be truly full. The answer to all marriage problems is not to revenge and fight back, but rather provide the true essence of unconditional love by offering the other person the same virtues they lack. Inability to do this means you never really loved that person. You have no control over circumstance and you don’t have control over your spouse. But you do have control over yourself. So make the right choice before getting committed to a marriage, and make the right choice before getting married to MARRIAGE.

Kenzo and H&M: A Celebration of Print, Femininity, and Playfulness for Women KENZO’s womenswear collection for H&M is a unique celebration of the brand’s vibrant heritage, full of vivid prints, feminine details, and playful silhouettes. Creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon have filtered the archives of founder Kenzo Takada through their own eyes, giving 21st century attitude to pieces with a 70s and 80s sensibility. Colors and prints are contrasted and clashed; kimonos inform the cut; ribbons and frills give folkloric charm, while sporty shapes add urban energy. It’s a collection of designs that are totally unique to H&M, both wearable and inclusive while also shining fresh light on one of fashion’s most thrilling histories. The collection will be available in over 250 H&M stores worldwide on 3 November 2016.

FASHION FACT SHEET
1940 Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip Wartime weddings often left little time for preparations. Wedding dresses became shorter and decorations became simpler. Queen Elizabeth’s gown, on the other hand, is among the most famous dresses in history, embelished with 10,000 imported pearls, silver threat and tulle embroidery.
1950 Audrey Hepburn and Mel Ferrer Gloves were the standard fashion of the 50s, and they were made of lace, satin or tulle. Short hemilines and veils were also trendy, leading to more emphasis on the bride’s shoes.
1960 Ava Gardner and Frank Sinatra High waist empire lines, short hemlines, halterneck, and hats with bouffant veils were very into fashion.
1980 Princess Diana and Prince Charles Probably Princess Diana was the first to introduce full-length veils, cathedral trains, puffy sleeves, lace-edged frills, and oversized bouquets. Princess Diana’s 25-foot train is the longest in royal wedding history!
1990 Mariah Carey and Tommy Mottola The beginning of the 90s was still influenced by the previous decade; puffy sleeves, floral crowns, silk fabrics, sleeves, and dramatic train.
32 | OCTOBER 2016
2000 Victoria and David Beckham Strapless , vintage patterns, lace, and corset gown embellished with modern materials were among the most popular styles during this decade.
2010 Kate Middleton and Prince William Sarah Burton, Alexander McQueen’s creative director, designed a long sleeved, full skirt lace applique wedding dress. Simple, curvy dresses were very much into fashion, especially the mermaid cut.

5 Essential Tips to Jump-Start Your Bridal Beauty Routine BY: AMINA METWALLY Weather changes and never-ending wedding seasons can overwhelm a bride to be, inducing fatigue, pale skin. Thus, we’ve got you covered with some tips and steps to take when preparing for your big day. 34 | OCTOBER 2016
FACE: If you constantly apply makeup, you might need to rest your skin a bit and stick to a facial routine composed of cleansing followed by a morning moisturizer with SPF. Facial treatment is a great idea, just make sure not to do it right before your wedding as it may trigger skin reactions. Have it done at least 2 weeks before your wedding day. Your neck and décolleté are an extension of the face and are prone to sagging and wrinkles, thus always apply a facial scrub and daily moisturizer.
LIPS: Oftentimes, women pay less attention to their lips and this can tip them off to some health problems. To maintain healthy lips, apply lip scrub by The Body Shop using a soft toothbrush and gently brush your lips to remove dead skin. Rinse with water and apply Vaseline lip balm or any medical lip balm. Repeat this process twice a week.
WEDDING MAKEUP TRIAL: It is highly recommended to ask your makeup artist for a makeup trial before your wedding to settle for the best makeup look that complements your style and face.
SKIN: Drink lots of water to hydrate your body and have a glowing skin.
BODY, LEGS, AND FEET: You might cover your legs with a long gown but that won’t last forever! Make sure to get a full body scrub 2-3 days before your wedding day and avoid waxing on the same day. Moreover, do not wax your back as it may generate skin irritation. If necessary, bleach the dark areas. Use body lotion, preferably a nonfragranced one like Nivea lotion or Jergens to have a well-moisturized skin without being oily. Good foot care starts with a little tough love. Use a pumice stone or foot rasp daily to scrub away dry, cracked skin on heels and toes. And of course pamper yourself with a professional pedicure before the wedding.
Last but not least, relax and don’t freak out on the tiniest details, the only thing everyone will remember is how beautiful and happy you were on your wedding day, so ENJOY IT! OCTOBER 2016 | 35

Dress up Your Home with These DIY Home Decor Fluctuations in the value of the US dollar and euro have largely affected our economy, emerging inflammation amid the never-ending crisis. While prices of furniture may seemingly be doubling, there are endless ways to complete and decorate a room using the old items you once defined as trash! Refining old items and turning them into beautiful creations through simple crafts will not only save a good deal of money, but will also encourage you to release your inner artisan… your own perfect label!
Supplies:
Transform a Basic Table with Tiles
Tiles Glue gun Scissors Paint Brush Acrylic colors
Directions: Find a basic table or buy one from IKEA. Measure out the length and width to determine the number of tiles you need to cover your table. Cut down any tile that extends past the table’s measurements. Outline the design you want using pencil and start painting shapes. If not a good designer, simply spray paint the tiles. Once done, hot glue each tile to the table in an “X” shape to stick well. If the table will be used outdoors, spray the entire table with spray sealant after attaching the tiles.
Supplies: Cardboard (any size) Twine Glue gun and glue Large pillowcase
Directions: Push the flaps of the box inside to create an open box. Using a glue gun, attach the end of the twine at a corner and start to loop the twine around the box until it is one-third away from the top. Place the pillowcase inside, halfway down and line the box with the pillow so that it covers the exterior cardboard. If you don’t have twine or pillow case, you can use decorative papers and supplies. 44 | OCTOBER 2016
Make a Cardboard Look Like a Fancy Basket
Turn Your Old Tire into a Blooming Tire Planters
Supplies: 4 - 6 used tires 2 - 3 non-toxic outdoor paint colors Paint brush All purpose cleaning brush Dettol
Directions: Wash the tires with Dettol and water thoroughly. Set aside till dry. Prime them with a spray primer first, then brush each tire with a different color or paint. Light colors reflect light and keep the plants cool. So choose light colors and create several masterpieces. Place them next to each other or in your balcony’s corners and place plant pots inside.
Supplies: Supplies:
Entryway Mirror Makeover
1 old wooden entry organizer mirror Sandpaper Acrylic paint or spray paint Knobs and long screws Drill and drill bit Newspapers Permanent colors (optional)
Directions: First of all, cover the surface with newspapers to protect it from getting stained or damaged. Bring an old mirror, remove the hooks and smooth the edges out using a 60 grit and 120 grit sandpaper. Wipe down the mirror of any dust and then apply two coats of your favorite shade of paint. Drill holes the same size of the knob screws and then start digging them in, leaving equal space between each hole. Fasten the knobs. If you are an artist, you can add elegance with colorful patterns and drawings.
3 vanilla candles (different sizes) Cinnamon sticks Thick elastic bands Twine Ribbon
Directions: Place an elastic band around the bottom of the candle and make sure it lays flat. Carefully slide in the cinnamon sticks behind the elastic band, one at a time. Fill the candle with cinnamon sticks until there are no gaps. Fasten a twine around the candle four times to cover the elastic band and hold the sticks. Then tie the ends in a double knot and hide it. Using a glue gun, wrap a ribbon around the candle and tie into a bow to add a charming touch. Repeat the same process with the remaining candles.

EGYPT:
Getting to the Blues of Sinai BY: GEORGE FARID
50 | OCTOBER 2016
T
he Sinai Peninsula lies in Asia and is renowned for it’s lively heritage and mountainous character. Surrounded by sea on three sides, the peninsula is a true survivor of battles amongst decades. According to a recent study, early Africans used the Sinai route to migrate and cultivate other lands. We’re talking about a land that witnessed early human migrations 55,000 years ago, by Europeans, Eurasians, and Asians. So it definitely worth more than a weekend visit. We can do the geography class next, but then, where would the fun be? So let’s focus on one of the purest places out there in Sinai.
What are these? And how to reach each? Since we’re suggesting marvelous attractions, we’ve got to provide more advises about these beautiful destinations. Whether you’re chilling in Nuweiba or hiking behind Taba’s mountains, the nearest destination to start the trip will be at Dahab. You could either drive your way to the Blue Hole; a mere bumpy drive for 20 minutes, or ask someone to drive you for 10/LE per person, per way. You may ask the driver to give you a ride back as well.
Blues
I’m sure you’ve come across trips promising magical lands and agencies advertising about many places with a ‘blue’ word included. Let’s put the terms straight here for you. There’s a ‘Blue Hole’ and a ‘Blue Lagoon’. Another confusion would be solved if we knew about ‘Abo Galloum as well’. That way, people would stop mixing between Abo Lagoon and Blue Galloums.
Walk to the end of the blue hole for about 15 minutes until you reach the end of the cliff. You will find a boat station. Ask for a group ride to the lagoon. They would usually ask for 400 LE/both ways for the whole group (up to 20) and you can bargain if it’s off-season. You will enjoy a bumpy boat ride for 20 minutes, then you could go directly to the protectorate or the
lagoon for the same price. Your other options are an easy level hike for 60 minutes across the mountain; a free option if you follow the trail of others, or enjoy a camel ride for the same duration for 40 LE/both ways for each. Camels can carry your supplies and luggage as well; however, it could be little sunny. Once you reach the Blue Lagoon, you can either stay or walk to the protectorate for 30 more minutes. The lagoon’s ideal winds, calm waters, and water activities have been attracting surfers for long time. You could rent a hut for a day at rates as low as 15/LE and up to 50/LE according to the rental spot and meals. Words run short describing the raw beauty of the lagoon. It’s a paradise haven, layered between mountains of titanic and waters of silence. “Beauty surrounds us”. Always respect the spots’ cleanliness and serenity. OCTOBER 2016 | 51

PRE-WEDDING STRESS MANAGEMENT
PAMPER YOURSELF Nothing beats a spa to ease a frazzled mind. Put on some soft music and enjoy your favorite drink while spoiling yourself in a full body massage treatment. Spend this tranquil period away from any distracting device. DELEGATE You can’t handle every little detail by yourself, and if you do, you will end up fighting with everyone. Don’t be afraid to ask for help from family members and close friends. Just give them instructions and only follow-up with them. And remember to always have a backup plan!
GET MOVING Exercise is without a doubt one of the best ways to release stress and maintain a healthy body and sexy curves. When you perform any physical activity, your body release endorphins that balance your mind and body. However, do not increase the intensity of your exercise or incorporate heavy lifting few days before the wedding. You don’t want to get sore.
STRESS BUSTING FOODS Make sure to include the following healthy foods in your diet one month before the wedding. A turkey breast in a lettuce wrap. Salmon steak with dark veggies. Yogurt with blueberries. Dark chocolate with more than 70% cocoa. Fortified milk with oatmeal or fortified cereal. Sprinkle flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seed on all salads and sandwiches.
YOUR BODY IS NOT DISGUSTING! While you may notice every wrinkle, acne, and muffin top, men do not pay attention to these minor things. All they want is to get down and dirty. This is your big night, so focus on getting sexy, and if you can’t past your worries, you can always rely on soft music and candles to set the mood.

Quick Tricks to Look Thinner on Your Wedding Day
54 | OCTOBER 2016
WATCH YOUR FLUIDS 1. Drink Green Tea. Do you remember your friend Monica who got married last year and dropped 20 pounds in few months? She probably had green tea bags scattered in her desk’s drawers, tote bag, and car’s secret compartment! According to a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, individuals who consumed green-tea extract three times a day saw their metabolic rate boost by about 4 percent. This means that green-tea drinkers can burn an extra 60 calories in 24-hour period, which is equivalent to six pounds a year! This is not magic, it’s science. Researchers believe the difference is caused by metabolism-enhancing antioxidants known as catechins, which are found in green tea. Catechins can help inhibit the accumulation of body fat, as well as increase body temperature so you burn additional calories. 2. Avoid Calories in a Glass. While a tall Caramel Frappuccino from Starbucks can be quite alluring, it won’t make you feel satiated the way eating a healthy meal will. Many women are under the impression that consuming liquids is better than consuming real meals. In reality, if you consume any beverage during the day, you’ll have taken in at least 400 extra calories and you’ll still be hungry! A British study found that when alcohol wad added to a high fat, high calorie meal, less dietary fat was burned off and more was stored as body fat. So try to replace juice, soda, sugar drinks, and alcohol with lots of water, raw fruits, and proper meals.
PUMP IRON AND MOVE AROUND 3. Start Lifting. Did you know that a pound of muscle can burn up to nine times the calories of a
pound of fat? Weight training is the ultimate way to build lean muscle tissue, burn calories, and increase your metabolic rate, which is the number of calories you burn at rest. Imagine losing weight while sitting on your buttocks… smart, isn’t it? If you can’t invest in a gym membership, you can simply buy a couple of 3-5 kilo weights and try some weighted push-ups, squats, or lunges. Use your free weights to perform simple biceps curls or triceps pulls right in your home or office. Perform 40-minute interval exercises four to five times a week, and you’ll witness a rapid improvement in your physique. 4. Move It! As pessimistic as it sounds, it is somehow difficult to maintain a sexy physique during your pre-wedding schedule. Exercising requires commitment and dedication. So if you have a long list of wedding preparations and bare time for workouts, take the stairs instead of the elevator; walk to nearby places; take the dog out more often. Also stick to a thirty minutes of aerobic activity before breakfast or dinner to boost your metabolic rate and stop those calories from taking up permanent residence in your hips.
WATCH YOUR SPICES AND MINERALS 5. Spice It Up! Angelo Tremblay, Ph.D., director of the division of kinesiology at Laval University, in Canada, found that capsaicin, a compound found in jalapeno and cayenne peppers, can boost your resting metabolic rate and release more adrenaline, which in turn, speeds up your metabolism and ability to burn calories. Spice herbs and foods can also reduce your appetite and curb cravings. So spice up your dishes with low-calorie chili or salsa and watch the pounds come off faster.
6. No More Salt. Egyptians tend to marinate every single thing with tons of salt. Guess what, this bad habit should be forbidden for good. Sodium contributes to water retention, which makes you look bloated if you didn’t gain extra weight. In general, the daily value suggests one teaspoon of salt per day, which is a small dose compared to the amount of sodium found in a bag of chips or pretzels, canned foods, soups, and marinated foods. So keep an eye on your sodium intake.
KISS STRESS GOODBYE Sleep Well. As funny as it sounds, sleep deprivation will make you fat — and not just because you’re vulnerable to late-night munchies. According to the University of Chicago Medical Center, women who get less than four hours of sleep have slower metabolism and difficulty processing carbs due to high levels of insulin and stress hormone cortisol. Exhaustion can impede normal day-to-day functions, such as burning calories. Hence the best way to fight off exhaustion and speed up metabolism is to earn seven to eight hours of continuous sleep. Unwind Your Senses. When your wedding planner fails to find the right tone of salmon flower, don’t surrender to your cortisol stress hormone or eat emotionally. Chances is, you are encouraging fat storage inside your abdomen… not your best bikini look. According to Shawn Talbott, Ph.D., director of the Nutrition Clinic at the University of Utah, “find an activity that reduces stress for you, whether it’s listening to soothing music or taking yoga, and do it daily.”

6 INTERESTING FACTS YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT PILATES Who Developed Pilates?
• Joseph Pilates was the first to introduce Pilates into the fitness mainstream with a goal to sustain an ideal harmony between body, mind, and spirit. The moves he designed employ the core muscles in the “powerhouse” (abs, pelvic floor, lower back), adequate alignment of the spine, and awareness of the breath.
What is Pilates?
• Pilates is a full-body workout that engages almost every muscle in an effective way. There are more than 500 exercises of this system, all intended to strengthen the connection between the mind and body. These workouts are often accompanied by some gadgets, such as mats, resistance bands, and springs, to optimize the effects of the exercises.
How Does It Work?
• Unlike regimens that are based on weight lifting and high intensity interval training, Pilates focuses on the quality and precision of movement rather than the quantity. Pilates provides a full-body strength and agility training with decreased potential for strains and soreness to exist.
Does It Burn Calories?
Who Benefits?
• Pilates provides a comprehensive range of benefits; it can ease back pain, boost brainpower, enhance flexibility, relieve stress, increase endurance and lung capacity, improve memory retention and cognitive performance, and boost natural energy levels and floods the body with endorphins.
• Resistance training, the essence of Pilates, is renowned for being a great mean to develop lean muscles and boost metabolism so that the body would continue to burn calories even at rest. A 150lb person can burn 240 calories per hour.

FIGHT CANCER WITH FIBERS Fiber plays a significant role in maintaining a clean and healthy digestive system. Fiber helps move food easily through your digestive tract, including cancer-causing compounds that can create harm. Sticking to a diet rich in fiber may help prevent colorectal cancer and other common digestive system cancers, including stomach, mouth, and pharynx. TIP Fiber absorbs water, hence the more you consume fibers the more you should drink water to hydrate the body and help it get rid of toxins and waste.
A daily serving of processed meat increases your risk of colorectal cancer. Soy foods such as edamame can lower your risk of breast cancer. Fruits may decrease the risk of stomach and lung cancer. Vegetables containing carotenoids, such as carrots, Brussels sprouts, and squash, may lessen the risk of lung, mouth, pharynx, and larynx cancers. Diets high in non-starchy vegetables, such as broccoli and beans, may help protect against stomach and esophageal cancer. Foods rich in vitamin C, such as oranges, berries, and dark leafy greens may also protect against esophageal cancer. Foods high in lycopene, such as tomatoes and watermelon, may lower the risk of prostate cancer.

A CREATIVE PATTERN BY LOVE’S DESIGN BY: LAUREN K. CLARK
THE ARTISTRY OF REQUIREMENTS IN
FINDING YOUR PERFECT MATE
Call of the mating season begins, and young maidens decorate their bodies, hoping to attract their other half… whole… whatever! Same difference. The point is that the law of attraction is at work. Which means that your interior qualities will project their radar sensors out for all potential mates to come running your way. Now, of course, Madame “Time To Get A Man,” after all previous writings, we also know there is something called “standards.” Because you know, and we know that just because a man is fine, damn fine, doesn’t mean he is your type. Well, let’s hear it! What are the rules for selecting your man? Now, before we style our love, it is important to understand that some rules vary from one woman to another woman. And, prior to embarking on the specificities, there must be a core set of coloring when choosing Mr. Right. So, in the same way that women decorate their exterior for the mating call, it would be important to wear particular colors and pattern work, which highlights what is an isn’t allowed in the design for love.
PATTERN 1: Respect-a Big R-E-S-P-E-C-T, as our “Queen of Soul,” Aretha Franklin would say. And that is a biggie. Respect in all its forms, from your interests, passions, and individuality, is very important.
PATTERN 2: Success-Yes, everyone has their own definition of success. That’s ok. However, the key component for your mate should relate to him having his own career, steady work, and ability to take care of himself… let alone a family. That is not to say that he must be a billionaire. Get your shovel out of the gold mine, my dear! A man does not, and should not, be wealthy to make you happy. But security of himself is a must. Unless, you decide to choose the route of making your partnership an extended hustle for the both of you on your careers.
PATTERN 3: Trust-Uh oh! Has that become a big crush in your ego for past relationships? Well, guess what? It’s back again, so whatch’u gonna’ do? Sorry, lady! You can’t run from it this time. Our second spelling, T-R-U-S-T! Can you trust this new
66 | OCTOBER 2016
“
“
A man does not, and should not, be wealthy to make you happy. But security of himself is a must. Boo? Is he a man who is loyal and shows that you are his one and only? Or only one for that…moment?
PATTERN 4: Loving you, and showing it. Yes, that is what you want - a man who shows his affections when you are alone, and when eyes of the public are fixated on just the two of you. Which means that he is a sensitive guy, and is not ashamed to let the world know that you are his lady. His willingness to set aside the tough, macho talk.
PATTERN 5: Attractive? A must. Sexy? A Plus! But before we get shallow, let’s remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And what is not sexy for some is FINE for another. So, Ladies, if he is fine to you, then he is… attractive! Case closed! Just remember that attraction does not only stem from the exterior. Alright, as we have designed our patterns, it’s pretty easy to understand that a particular foundation is necessary for a certain mate. Then comes the additional embroidery. Oftentimes, they vary from one woman to another woman. Part of the magic is that an intricate display of pattern work and designs are created, showing the versatility of a heterosexual woman’s desire for mankind. How he walks, his scent, laugh, kiss, and all those other charming behaviors that makes you realize how unique your new Boo is, becomes part of the fabrics of design. You may even have requirements for the two of you to have similar interests and hobbies… or not. The requirement of respect too lingers when it comes to the man of your dreams respecting your individuality, goals, and everything that makes you… You! So, you see, men have their own artistry for pattern design too! And while you continue to style your pattern for love, remember that a core foundation is necessary, when attracting your natural companion (the one meant for you) by a loving design.

Relationships
YES…I DO
S
tarting anything new in our lives can be quite challenging and worrying at the beginning. But the moment we start looking at matters from a different angle, miracles happen and everything starts getting more clear and enjoyable. Same applies to marriage! For all couples out there, let me give you some quick relationship coaching tips to have a strong happy foundation for your life together.
BY: YASMINE SHAHINE
1.He speaks as a man and you speak as a woman. Most of the arguments between couples start because each one of them is expecting the other to think and speak the same way as he/she does! That won’t happen! Stop expecting your partner to read your mind, simply tell them what you need or what you mean. 2.Avoid giving the silent treatment. If there is anything that is bothering you, talk about it as soon as possible. Don’t let matters or any negative emotions build 68 | OCTOBER 2016
up because at some point you’ll explode. Talk to each other about everything. Life is simpler than you think. 3.It’s a relationship to share not a war to win. It’s ok not to win in every discussion, that doesn’t make you a weak person! Don’t be afraid to compromise. You are not giving up on your ideals or what you believe in, in fact, it’s only about the push and pull in any relationship, so let go off your shoulders and relax.
4. Never ever take each other for granted. Always keep in mind that relationships need effort to work on and to maintain all the time. You chose that person to spend the rest of your life with, right? So never stop giving effort and time to make your partner feel appreciated and loved. 5.Be patient. You both might grow together at different times and in different ways, so you need to give and take to make it last forever.
6.Before judging, put yourself in their shoes. You will really avoid unnecessary criticism and lots of negative comments if you take a moment and shift places. 7.Make each other laugh. Stop taking life so seriously! Do fun stuff together; surprise each other even with the silliest and simplest ideas. It will make you partner feel loved and will keep reminding you why you fell in love with them in the first place.
8.Affection and love results in more affection and love. Kiss each other good morning, tell them you love them every day, be kind, write them special notes. It’s too easy to get out of these habits if you allow yourself to, but it will only make you feel so distant. Intimacy and physical affection will always keep you connected. 9.Enjoy the NOW. Stop overthinking and worrying about the future. Whatever phase you are in NOW, just embrace and enjoy it.
10.Stop trying to change each other. You fell in love with your partner the way they are and they loved you for what makes you that person, so enjoy being different and don’t try to make them a copy of you.
Whatever bad stuff happens, remember that it will pass… so let go, relax, and enjoy being loved.

Samra is not only the first and youngest person in history to explore the highest mountain on each continent and reach the top of the Everest, he is moving inevitably closer to his new goal of flying into space aboard a private US-owned spacecraft, making him the first Egyptian in space. 70 | OCTOBER 2016
EMMA WATSON IS BULLIED FOR BEING A FEMINIST! In her latest visit to New York, the Goodwill Ambassador gave a speech about equal rights as part of her ongoing campaign called HeForShe. Watson’s highlighted the importance of true equality for women and minorities, and that their ‘‘safety is a right and not a privilege.” But it seems that not everyone was impressed! Rod Liddle, a reporter for The Sun, tweeted an offensive blurb, referring to her as Hermione Granger and accusing her of boring the crowd with “whining, leftie, crap.” The reporter added that “I don’t object to them having views and expressing them. I just don’t understand why we take them seriously.” Luckily, more and more people are fond of the outspoken feminist and her latest campaign that inspired over 1,302 million gender equality actions as of this writing.
MARION COTILLARD’S HUSBAND SPEAKS OUT IN HER DEFENSE There have been numerous speculations about the causes of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s breakup, alleging an affair between Pitt and the Allied costar. After Cotillard’s statement on Instagram, her longtime romantic partner and best friend, Guillaume Canet, spoke out in her defense. “I also don’t usually talk about my private life, which until now I’ve always protected attentively,” Canet wrote in an Instagram caption, translated from French to English by Time. “But the fury of the tabloids, the venal stupidity of some people calling themselves journalists, the haters who feel braver behind a keyboard, drive me to speak of the pride, love, respect and admiration I have for Marion staying as strong and intelligent in the face all these stupid and unfounded accusations.” THE DUKE OF CAMBRDIGE FEELS IT IS TIME FOR WILDLIFE CHANGE The Duke of Cambridge expressed his concerns and fears for endangered wildlife during an address at The Time for Change event in London. Prince William highlighted the negative influence of economic crisis and vulnerable communities on the world’s poorest people and species. “When I was born, there were 1 million elephants roaming Africa,” the Duke explained. “By the time my daughter Charlotte was born last year, the numbers of Savana Elephants had crashed to just 350,000. And at the current pace of illegal poaching, when Charlotte turns 25 the African elephant will be gone from the wild.” As part of his campaign, Prince William will fly to several countries to spread awareness and make a change. GET INSPIRED Dina EL-Mofty
The Egyptian Entrepreneur Who Brings New Energy to Our Youth
D
BY: RANA HAMDY
uring the challenging times we are facing, our society is in dire need for individuals who light up the spark of enthusiasm once again. Ones who can set strong foundations on which we build a more rewarding future. Throughout history, and till this very day, Egyptian women have played major roles as true inspirations for many of us to look up to, especially the youth. The youth is our investment, the pillars for a better Egypt and that was Dina EL-Mofty’s vision. The Egyptian entrepreneur is a strong believer in the power of education. She is the founder of Injaz Egypt; a non-profit education organization with a focus on bringing closer and bridging the gap between the education system and private sectors. The organization aims at enriching the Egyptian youth with all the required skills and qualifications that prepare them to start their careers in the market as innovative, skillful entrepreneurs and employees. Dina serves on the US Egypt Business Council and is the Co-chair of Women in Business

Committee at the American Chamber of Commerce. She also serves as a member of the Education and Entrepreneurship Committees. Prior to her key role in Injaz Egypt, Dina worked with Save the Children helping expand their health and education operations in Egypt. Dina holds a Graduate degree from the Fletcher School at Tufts University, and is an undergraduate of the American University in Cairo. She also spent time as an undergraduate at Georgetown University, Edmund Walsh School of Foreign Service,
and later attended professional degrees at Penn State University and Instead. Dina’s role as an Egyptian entrepreneur has helped in cultivating and expanding the entrepreneurial culture in Egypt. She’s a figure who inspires us to be driven by greater purpose. It is women like Dina EL-Mofty who we look up to as an Idol. It is women like her who bring the waves of change, to a better tomorrow.
