“Threads of light bringing us together”.. Pepsi launches a one of its kind campaign to light up Upper Egypt’s hearts and villages of in the Holy Month Pepsi and Chipsy kicked off the Ramadan Campaign “Threads of light bringing us together” to unite Egyptians in the Holy Month of Ramadan and celebrate its festivities while lighting up Upper Egypt villages through “Liter of Light” initiative. As part of its Ramadan campaign “Threads of light bringing us together” and to fulfill its role in corporate social responsibility (CSR), Pepsi and Chipsy was keen to launch its initiative “Liter of Light” which seeks to light up Upper Egypt villages and governorates and eradicate darkness. The initiative shares the spirit, the lights and the decorations of the Holy Month with all Egyptians and help them celebrate Ramadan in a way that perfectly describes it. “Liter of Light” is also a confirmation on PepsiCo’s core pillar “Performance with Purpose” which aims to achieve human, talent and environmental sustainability to support and help the communities it operates in and improve the lives of people living in underprivileged areas. PepsiCo also wants its consumers to be part of this interactive campaign, so to engage them in the initiative, PepsiCo will give them a chance to support the initiative and donate to Misr Al Kheir Foundation through sending SMS for only 5 EGP with the word “Nour” or “ ” نـورto 9597 to be able to reach more villages in Upper Egypt and bring back hope and light to them. “Liter of Light” is a global initiative that has been sponsored by Pepsi in Philippines, and Pepsi is proud that Egypt is the first Arab country to implement “Liter of Light” in the Middle East. The initiative’s journey first kicked off in Sohag governorate back in 2014, and is now taking place in Assiut governorate in Upper Egypt where it will install lampposts in underprivileged villages. “Liter of Light” will provide light through eco-friendly solutions; utilizing solar energy and recycled empty Pepsi plastic bottles filled with chlorine and connected to solar panels and batteries that absorb and store solar light to be later used during the nighttime in lighting up dark villages. The initiative is key to a deeply-rooted problem that several Upper Egypt villages suffer from; that is electricity problem. Electricity shortage affects thousands of Egyptian families and its repercussions are especially felt in the Holy Month of Ramadan where families and friends gather and meet. “Liter of Light” initiative comes in line with Pepsi and Chipsy’s Ramadan campaign this year which aims to bring people together in this Holy Month and revive the Ramadan spirit through threads of light that unite Egyptians and all the Egyptian families and help them truly feel the spirit of Ramadan which they have lost recently. The unique, one of its kind campaign seeks to encourage Egyptians to create new memories this Ramadan and live wonderful times with families and friends while going back in memories of the past and its familiar warm feelings.

Find Your Treasure… A few years ago, I was unhappy with my body, I wanted to lose weight, a lot of weight. I thought that weight loss would solve many of my pitfalls and hitches. Years later, I surpassed this goal and still wasn’t happy. Sounds familiar? We constantly lie to ourselves thinking that happiness is the outcome of many triumphs. While achieving goals is a wonderful endeavor, we will not reach happiness through it, but rather through the journey itself. “It is all about the journey not the end goal” We’ve heard that a million times before, yet it seems quite hard to magically turn this so called journey into a cheerful and pleasant one! Where do we get the magic shrooms from? Many psychologists tackled this field and conducted many researches to grasp a true meaning to happiness. And it turns out the solution isn’t that hard! We must develop the following five habits everyday… Gratitude… cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you. Hence, every morning, remind yourself of three blessings that you are grateful for. It could be a job, a spouse, a dog, or parents. Journaling… write down one positive experience that influenced your life. This will allow your brain to re-live it and revive the wonderful, positive experience once again. Exercising… meeting exercise challenges or goals can boost your ego. Exercise can also battle depression, regulate your emotions, and enhance your mood. Meditation… half an hour of meditation a day can renew your soul and reintroduce new positive beliefs about yourself and the community surrounding you. Acts of Kindness… remember this poor 5 years old boy you see everyday on your way to work? You can turn his successive unfortunate events into a victory if you help him achieve good grades, resume his education, and feel worthy about himself. The act of giving will surely give you a deep meaning to living. At the end, it might be a cliché to say this, but love yourself! You are born to love, be loved, and to be happy. Find your treasure.

LADYBIRD LOVES
NICKI MINAJ IN ROBERTO CAVALLI’S SPRING-SUMMER 2015 CAMPAIGN
I
Inspired by retro styles, Italian designer Roberto Cavalli starred rapper Nicki Minaj in his Spring/Summer 2015 collection.
“I chose Nicki Minaj because she embodies the exuberant and modern femininity of the Cavalli woman… With this campaign, I wanted to send a strong counter trend message. I wanted a sensual woman who is aware of her body, who is not afraid to show her curves, rather she make them as a strength.” Roberto Cavalli said in a statement accompanying the video.
10 | July 2015
The new campaign features chic bob and billowing silhouettes, black in white zebra stripped dress, bright colorful beach dress, stylish tinted sunglasses; all with quick cuts and vibrant effects. With eyeliner giving her a bold cat eye look and voluminous bobs and updos, the shoot perfectly represents the modern woman armed in confidence, strength, and femininity. Creative Francecso Carrozzini made the shoot.

Summer Street Style
S
By: Ghadir Alagabany
Schools are over, universities are off, Ramadan has passed, but the heat is still ON! It’s beach, chill out, and party time. Stir up your street style especially in the upcoming summer holidays in Egypt. Whether you’re recessing in Gouna, Sahel, or Sinai, take it to the max and dress unlike the conformity and traditional respect of the city with wild and over the top loud street styles on the beach, in friends’ gathering, and while you’re uncaringly partying. Now we’re ready to beat the 30 degrees mornings and humid afternoons. Let the fashion fun begin.
Beach We are all ready for some serious beach going with the nautical accent of navy blue, red, and white marine image. Anchors, sailing hats, and naval stripes will automatically put you in the right sailor boy mood. Sheer and chiffon kaftans and cover-ups with beach wedges for a classy Cote d’Azur look or slippers for a more down to earth lost in paradise island look. And definitely the must tropical, sexy golden, night black, solid monotone and/or animal print monokinis to vamp up the boring bikinis collection you have.
Chilling Out This is where you show the most trends of your summer holiday closet. Buttoned down shirtdresses with platform slip-ons versus maxi skirts with thigh high splits styled up with denim shirts and statement accessories. Looking athletic and yummy is still nailing the runways. Put a simple original Lakers Tee and mix it with a pencil skirt and killer stilettos. As such, you’re pledging uniqueness and a personalised fashion edge. Just can’t get enough of the American/Indian 70s fringes look that will really accentuate the chilling out phase you aim to live for the holidays. Also you will need to chop off the fat and crop the tops with the sexy distressed denims styled with sophisticated heels. Effortless chicness in summer afternoons and siesta sunsets merge well with the ethnic, oriental touch of kimonos, kaftans, and culottes. Loose fits, comfy footwear, and colorful pieces up styled with the former Ks for a trendy summer.

It’s flowers’ season, even the men are wearing florals. To fight the piracy tendency, we retouch the florals with our A-line dresses, full miniskirts, asymmetric silhouettes, and flared pants to reign the sidewalks and kill the uprising so called male competition.
Party It is the one and only 70s Saturday Night Fever to cut a long story short. Dare to sparkle and shine with metallics, afro the hair, round the shades, enlarge the bangles, increase the heels, and feel the vibe. It’s time to escape the heat and show some skin… but, with a lot of chic class and nude tones. More legs, less arms, more tummy, less cleavage, and so on. And beware of the bra bearing bravado! Let’s enjoy again the era of the disco diva. The retro glam look of the 70s is back fast, fierce, and fabulous. This extraordinary epoch nourished real hippy super cool foxy vibrations that will sure boom this summer. Enjoy to the max!

Black and White One has to be creative when it comes to black and white. To avoid boring patterns, we made sure to add a pop of color to the look. In our case it was yellow, to make the outfit more fun! 30 | July 2015
Lace Nowadays, designers have become playful with lace providing exquisite outcomes! White tops made of lace can be worn in summer while black lace during winter can give you a sexy edgy look. Colored lace dresses are always a good idea. July 2015 | 31

SPOTTED CELEBS LATEST NEWS & GOSSIP
Katy Perry and Taylor Swift’s Shocking Fight! We all remember the old times when Taylor Swift’s and Katy Perry’s friendship was peachy and perfect. They would act like they are so excited when they meet each other at different awards or shows, and they would also hang out for dinner together like “OMG we’re best friends,” But all this didn’t seem to mean anything to Perry when she stole Swift’s backing dancers on purpose. In interviews, Swift just noted without mentioning any names that “she basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour, now I have to avoid her, it’s awkward and I don’t like it,” But Perry just had to pull another mean girls move when she threw noticeable hints by dressing her backing dancers, during her Super Bowl performance, like Swift… Is Taylor going to respond?
Bruce Jenner Sex Change The Vanity Fair cover of Bruce Jenner in a boobenhancing swimsuit has definitely shocked us all. Bruce, who was previously an American athlete, now wants to be described as a woman. He made very clear statement on the magazine’s cover saying “Call me Caitlyn”. The famous athlete had different sex reassignment surgeries last month, amongst was facial surgery that lasted five hours. We are all surprised!
Iggy Azalea and Nick Young GOT ENGAGED! Iggy Azalea and her basketball player boyfriend, Nick Young, got engaged. Young, who plays for the LA Lakers proposed during his 30th birthday party with a ring that’s worth $500,000. The proposal was captured on camera, featuring a very emotional video that shows the overjoyed Azalea saying “Yes” before she helped herself to her new bling. It’s an 8.15-carat fancy intense yellow stone surrounded by 2.25 carat of diamonds, and set on an 18-karat white gold band. “Nick was pretty much involved in designing the ring, we wanted it to be both a ring of Iggy’s dreams and a ring that fits her personal style.” said Young’s friend Jason Arasheben.

Meet the Renowned Dutch Stylist Olaf Van Den Wildenberg
S
Summer is all about fun, and we all know that. However, when it comes to hair, we are all looking for some special guidance from professional experts, to pass their knowledge on hair maintenance and to protect our hair from the regular sun exposure. L’Oréal Professionnel are introducing their stand out IT Looks to Egypt, coming from Amsterdam, Holland, so we headed off to interview “Olaf Van Den Wildenberg” a pioneer in the hair styling industry with 30 years of experience, in L’Oréal Professionnel, to know more about the latest Summer hair trends and to provide us with an exceptional hair protection tips. “The latest hair trends for this summer are ‘The Shag Look’ from the late 60s inspiration, where we can simply personalize it to every client, giving perfect layers for their hair. Depending on the overall look with makeup, clothes, accessories, we decide on the glamorous hair style and color,” Olaf said. Keeping up with the latest looks mainly inspires Olaf along with traveling to big countries and following up the newest renovations on television and Instagram. For this summer season, spoil your hair with the finest and newest L’Oreal products for a shiny, and bouncy, voluminous hair. 1. For a wet look, use dry products that give a shine,
there are also some L’Oreal Summer products that guard your hair from the sun rays. 2. To make your curly hair more natural, apply L’Oreal curly hair products after washing your hair, and use some creams afterwards. 3. If you use an iron, select a flat good iron, and don’t forget to pick a suitable cream or product spray before ironing your hair like “Elnett hairspray.” Considering the various types of faces to fit for the hairstyle, “for the round face, short hair with layers would be perfect; for the tall face, have your hair with some volume; and for an oval face, do some sassy, flirty side bangs,” Olaf stated. “Don’ts: If you want to color your hair for the first time, visit any salon and don’t do it at home by any means. Don’t iron your hair regularly at home as it will damage your hair.” When asked about general hair tips, “At least once per month, apply a mask on your hair followed by some crème. For long hair, use L’Oreal metic oil as it adds a perfect shine for your hair. Also choose a big brush for long hair and comb out the ends first then detangle a few inches higher repeatedly until you reach your scalp. For hair repairing products, we have hydra repair, which should be applied at least once a week to add volume for your hair. For colored hair, bring Vitamina color, it ideally maintains the hair color.” Olaf concluded. July 2015 | 35

Skin
Get the Perfect Tan in
Few Steps
• Frequently exfoliate with non-oil based, gritty scrub eight hours prior to your tan, to remove all dead skin and soften the skin. Don’t exfoliate with body brush, body scrub, body wash, or soap for at least 48 hours after your tan. • If you want to wax or shave before tanning, do it at least 24 hours in advance. Neither wax nor shave after your spray tan. Also don’t put on shaving creams that contain lanolin (oil) because this will negatively affect the tanning solution. • Apply moisturizer generously all over your body the night before tanning, to get a smoother skin. After tanning, do not apply moisturizer until after your first shower, because this could affect the immediate reaction of the tanning solution. For best results, use water-based moisturizer and avoid using oilbased moisturizers. • When applying the tan, make sure you’re covered all over. It is okay to go over the same area twice; the tan will only be patchy if you miss a bit not if you double up. 36 | July 2015
• Wait at least 8-12 hours after application before you shower, to allow time for the self-tanning reaction to occur on the skin. • You may distribute the tanning oil unevenly if you rub. Smooth it gently instead. • Avoid washing your hands for as long as you can during the tanning process. Use a hand sanitizer or wipes. • Your tan won’t get deeper if you leave it for a long time; just check the required amount of time on the pack. For a deeper tan you should re-apply for three consecutive days. • Make sure to wear loose, dark clothing, and avoid tight-fitting underwear after applying the tan. Avert wool, nylon, or silk lingerie and swimsuit for at least 8 hours as DHA may react with these fabrics and cause staining. • Don’t apply any lotion, makeup, sunscreen, or oil on your skin when tanning. Only deodorant, lip balm, lip-gloss, lipstick, and mascara are permitted.

From the very start, glass has been one of the main materials used in decor and interior design. It’s made from opaque sand, yet it’s completely transparent. And, perhaps most surprisingly of all, it behaves like a solid material... but it’s also a sort of bizarre liquid in disguise!
Glass is such a popular material in our homes because it has all kinds of really useful properties. Apart from being transparent, it's inexpensive to make, easy to shape when it's melted, and reasonably resistant to heat when it's set. STORAGE: We all have additional kitchen utensils, home tools, electronics, and other spare items that need to be collected somewhere. A storage unit made of glass can keep your things safe and neat, and still make the room looks big. SPACE: Glass can make spaces feel large, organized, and uncluttered since it can generate a bright flow and sensation throughout the day. STYLE: Glass suits different styles; from very traditional or oriental to modern and contemporary. Thanks to the technology that continuously produces diverse colors, patterns, and sizes to create inventive ensembles. ENERGY: Using glass or transparent equivalents is suitable for creating a balanced rotation and movement. LIGHT: The main usage of glass is to give light to the room. There are thousands of ways to add glass into the room, through cabinets, mirrors, tabletops, and windows. In countries like Germany, a governmental law obliges all offices to be glass walled. The lack of light all year makes craving light a rule, hence the usage of glass.
TEMPREATURE: Glass is considered a cool color that transmits a coherent flow of light, widens the room area, and delivers an optimistic ambiance. SIMILAR MATERIALS: For safety, weight wise, and economical reasons; further materials come together in the same playground with glass, among the most popular are plastic, acrylic, and plexi. Each has its pros and cons; however, still many people prefer glass over other materials.

BMW Organizes a Test-Drive for the X Series with Sagaro at Uptown Cairo The Bavarian Auto Group organized a test drive for the X Series last Thursday at «Uptown Cairo» in Moqattam, with the participation of the French team Sagaro that specializes in off-road driving. During the test-drive with Philippe Cornut and his team Sagaro, some of the most important Motoring and Entertainment journalists in Egypt tested what the X Series cars such as X3 and X5 can do off-road. Philip pushed the cars to the limit through some of the most tough and challenging terrains that had a wide range of obstacles. Thanks to the all-wheel drive intelligent system xDrive from BMW, which enables the X-Series cars to lead the way even when it goes off-road, through continuous collection of driving information from the vehicle speed, wheels angle, and the nature of the surface you’re driving on, and then adapting the system to it. The xDrive system can change the amount of power going from the engine to each axle separately, which gives the car a superior stability, even with unpaved roads, the xDrive system enables you to surpass the rugged tracks thanks to intelligent distribution of the engine power,
especially in the presence of Performance Control System, which distributes the torque power according to road conditions and driving between the rear wheels. The BMW guests participating in the test-drive highlighted the ability of X Series cars to pass many of the rugged obstacles in the road, which they thought a luxury car such as the X3 or X5 may not be able to traverse, but the all-wheel drive system and the stability program as well as the power of BMW engines with TwinPower Turbo technology that gave a lot of torque and control for the vehicles, in addition to a comfortable suspension system that reduced the feeling of the bumpy roads. Philippe Cornutthe, founder of Sagaro team, praised the ability of the Egyptian factory in assembling a car such as the X5 comparing it to the quality of all BMW plants around the world, and pointed out that it is not easy to assemble cars like the X5 and the 7 series of BMW because these vehicles carry the best of the technology that the German manufacturer innovated, and added that he is always happy every time he comes to Egypt, as he had participated before in the events that was held for the X Series at the pyramids and the desert of Sinai.

So here are 10 hacks for healthy snacks that can save you from cranky moods, reaching for coffee in the middle of the afternoon, and from wanting to nap in your cozy bed instead of fulfilling your daily tasks.
Mixed Nuts When you are running late or not in the mood for preparing a snack, grab a bag of nuts and eat only a handful. If you are watching your sodium intake, look for unsalted packs.

Essential Shopping List of Dos and Don’ts BY: Noura Hassaballa
58 | July 2015
T
The two main factors that prevent people from eating healthy are picking the wrong ingredients and not having the time to plan ahead. When doing grocery shopping there are some things you need to consider beforehand to make sure you are picking the right food and not wasting money on things that might harm your body.
Plan Ahead: By planning ahead I’m referring to creating a shopping list. Plan your menu for the week and know your ingredients before heading out to the supermarket. This will save you the hassle of running back and forth to the store for missing ingredients. Shopping While Hungry: Many people skip meals or forget to take their snacks with them while shopping and that puts them at risk for making wrong food choices. If half of your shopping cart is full of junk food, then you failed to make the right choice for you and your family. Never ever go grocery shopping when you are hungry; eat your meal 30 minutes before heading out or keep a healthy snack with you. When you are hungry while shopping, you tend to pick foods like cookies, chocolate, chips, and all those empty calorie foods.
What to Do? When grocery shopping, try to focus more on the leafy green veggies, fruits, and whole grains. Stay away from canned or processed foods. Pick healthier choices when it comes to oils such as olive oil or coconut oil. Look for lean meats and poultry, and make sure you include fish as a weekly dish. Make herbal tea a habit instead of juices or high sugary drinks. Last but not least, make sure you don’t exceed your budget. Ask yourself if you really need what you are buying or you are just craving it?
Read the Labels: People get deceived by those big labels of “Low Fat”, “Cholesterol Free”, “Light”, you name it. How much fat is considered low fat? A lot of times you think just because it’s low in fat you can eat more of it; low fat products are usually replaced with sugars and other ingredients as alternatives to make up for the taste. What about “Cholesterol Free”? Has anyone told you before that plant fats are cholesterol free? Only animal fats contain cholesterol. So don’t be fooled. Another thing is the “No Sugar Added” label. If it says no sugar added it doesn’t mean it’s sugar free. Many people think it is ok to drink 1 liter of juice just because it says no sugar added, while fruit juice and other packed drinks already contain sugar. Read the Nutrition Facts: Always read the nutrition facts label because it tells you how many calories per serving; don’t forget to check the serving size. Big companies market their products by writing low calories per serving; however, this one product could be two or three servings. Check your serving size before you eat it, so you won’t be doubling on calories. Go for Whole: When shopping for healthy bread and cereals, look for the words whole grain or 100% whole wheat. It’s not enough if it says multigrain or made with whole grain. Whole grains, (which include popcorn, brown rice, and oatmeal), have more fiber and other nutrients than those that have been refined; a process that strips away the healthiest portions of the grain. And don’t go by color alone: Some dark breads or crackers have caramel coloring and are no healthier than highly refined white breads. July 2015 | 59

Fix with Food
If you are having a bloating problem, you should push fluids into your body. Lemons are natural diuretic and gentle laxative when added to warm water, hence they lessen the amount of salt reserved in the body. Celery has a high water content with detoxing benefits, which can flush out toxins, regulate bowel movements, and control intestinal gas. In addition, watermelon has natural diuretic property and can easily control sodium and potassium, which aids in controlling bloat. Apart from rosemary’s endless health benefits, it also treats intestinal gas and helps digestion. You can easily sprinkle rosemary to your salad, roasted chicken, pizza, or pasta.

FAT-BURNING FOODS TO BOOST YOUR METABOLISM • Green Tea has thermogenic properties that endorse fat oxidation with its caffeine content. So if you are consuming 1,500 calories a day, you are likely to burn 60 calories, if you consume a cup of green tea. • Cinnamon improves the way fat cells responds to sugar, elevates insulin sensitivity, and lowers blood sugar levels. A daily dose of 6 grams of cinnamon can enhance all three factors. • Almonds are not really metabolism-boosters; however, their protein content increases the body’s energy expenditure, which burns more calories. • Lean Protein breaks down into amino acids which repairs muscle tissues and aids in building muscles mass. Foods rich in protein, as a result, boost metabolism and curb craving feelings. • Spices and Chili Peppers can elevate your metabolism for a short duration but only by 8%. Add a pinch of cinnamon, paprika, or oregano to your food or sprinkle some jalapeno peppers, but in moderate quantity to avoid heartburn or stomach problems. • Apples and Pears speed up weight loss and boost metabolism, as long as they are organic and consumed on daily basis.

How to Maintain a Healthy Relationship? By: Yasmine Shahine
What’s more beautiful than being in a happy, healthy, and romantic relationship, where you can easily connect with your partner? Healthy relationships don’t just happen like that! Each person needs to propose something worthwhile and special to that relationship, which requires effort, will, and time. Unfortunately, it doesn’t just happen overnight. Here are some tips that can help you create and maintain a happy and healthy relationship. 1- Communication Communication is a master key in any relation; it has the power to either open doors to happiness or block them completely in case of key breakage. Couples should be aware of two basic facts before they start communicating with each other! A. We are different! Men and women speak different languages of love. Their expectations differ, as the way each one expresses feelings or needs or even worries is dissimilar. The trap that couples fall into is that each one expects the other to act in the exact way that he/she wants, 64 | July 2015
which unfortunately will never happen if they keep missing the fact that they are simply different. Let me give you one real life fact as an example for this matter… • When a woman is sharing with her partner any life challenge she’s facing, she is not asking for advice here! On the contrary, she is just expecting from her partner to show empathy and listen to her. • On the other hand, when a man shares a problem with his partner, the last thing he wants to hear is “OH, don’t worry baby I’m here for you!” for he will be wondering if there is an added value here.
Just consider that your partner may have something to say that is worth listening to and considering. This conversation is not a battleground where you must prove that you are right; it is not a fight that you must win.
2- Stupid EGO If we are egocentric in our relationship then we are just being stupid because simply nobody wants to be with someone like that! DO YOU? We all need to grow up and see that the universe does not only revolve around us. How can we do that? Hear your partner out, cause when you put yourself aside, that is when you focus on what your partner is saying rather than on how you are reacting. In other words, you are making yourself available to listen to your partner. As your partner talks, try to sense what it feels like to be him/her. Try to feel what your partner is experiencing. Empathize. Listen with your heart. Ego is just a bubble you are trapping yourself into, and if it blew, trust me it will only blow in your own face.
3- Reveal Your Personal Needs People often feel embarrassed to talk about what they want. Not the easy wants, such as “I want to go to that new restaurant,” or “I want to go on a trip.” But the personal wants that come from deep down inside you, where you feel the most vulnerable: “I want you to complement me,” “I want to feel that you are there for me,” or “I want you to be more affectionate.” True, right? Did you see that simple difference? B- We are talking, it’s not a war! When you are talking with your partner, try to remember that you are not going into a battle that you have to win! This is not to say that you will have to compromise all the way. This is not to say that you can’t be angry, frustrated, or provoked. You have a right to explain all of your thoughts and feelings.
Many of us have grown up feeling ashamed of our wants; however, the more you communicate on this level, the more you become in touch with yourself and the closer your partner will be able to feel to you. When you and your partner communicate on this personal level, many trivial issues between you will vanish.
4- Respect Your Partner Treat your partner with the respect and decency with which you treat any other person…. after all, your partner has unique characteristics; so don’t take him or her for granted. July 2015 | 65

How to Enjoy Travelling with Your Kids?
Traveling can be excessively stressful with kids, probably not easier than the horror and anxiety you get when chased by few dogs! Part of your fear is generated as a result of having noisy and nagging children, which will trigger some discomfort on the plane. Here are some survival tips…
1. Ignore the Awkward Stares Ignore all the people on the airplane and their irritating glares. There are some people who simply hate children. All you have to do is to keep an eye on your kids.
•
2. Plan Your Flight with These Tips
•
Before the Plane • Make sure your kids get enough time to sleep the day before. Know when your kids tend to get sleepy or are more energetic and try to plan your flight accordingly. • Make sure everyone uses the bathroom before boarding and change the diapers of your little ones, even if they seem to be clean.
•
• •
During the Flight • Try to sit at the back of the plane; to be closer to the bathrooms and to keep away from the other passengers. • To avoid air pressure let your children chew some gums. For child under the age of three, offer milk or juice during takeoff and landing to reduce the pressure. Another solution is airplane’s earplugs, 66 | July 2015
•
•
available for kids 1-10. These ear plugs are designed to relieve air pressure. If you have child under the age of three, arm yourself with a bag filled with diapers, milk, juice bottles, baby wipes, etc. Get a plastic sheet or anything that you can put down anywhere for your children to play on. To entertain your children, bring lots of sticker books, colors, toys, preferably shop for some new toys some days prior your flight, trust me they will get surprised and happy to play with toys they’ve never seen before than with toys they already have. You may also distract them with an iPad (with new games). Don't forget to charge it. Bring a pack of snacks for older kids (crackers, string cheese, carrots, and dried fruits) rather than sweets to keep them healthy. Make sure you have first aid supplies, including hand wipes, children's Tylenol, teething remedies, an anti diarrheal option, kid vitamins, medicines, band aids, etc. Follow up with your children’s alternating moods; maybe they are over-stimulated or bored, and try to
handle the situation accordingly. • Bring books that you can read to the kids, but make sure they are interesting and have a good purpose. • For 5-12 year old children, a small pack of crayons and coloring books can make them indulge in an interesting activity, fight monotony, and relax their senses.
• Try to have fun with them on the flight. Enjoy the ride, and get involved with your children in several activities. After the Flight • Once you land, let the other passengers depart first. Make sure you have everything and off to the exit.
TIP By earning your child’s respect, you will help him learn to respect himself. Without respect your child won’t be able to value himself, making him more likely to mistreat others. If your child has self-respect, he will treat himself well. Children who are taught respect from an early age tend to be generous, caring, considerate, unselfish, happy, successful, and keep healthier relationships.

Everything is 4: Jason Derulo Everything is 4 starts with the single “Want To Want Me” which creates a dance floor kind of mood with a few breakdowns and a perfect voice that just makes you want to stand up and start dancing. Obviously the number 4 means something to Derulo who said “The number 4 is a sense of completion almost”. The strangest of all is “Broke,” which features Keith Urban and Stevie Wonder and sounds like Kanye and a female voice covering Pitbull and Kesha’s “Timber.” It’s a chaos of hip-hop chants and harmonica drops, but of course Derulo makes it sound like a hit.
