REBIRTH…

T

The autumn leaves fall and the wind carries them away, giving new space for others to grow, flowers to bloom, and life keeps going on. Same thing is for me, for you, for all of us. Our lives go up and down, hit rock bottom then shine brighter than ever. Along your life you’ll meet people, you’ll lose people, you’ll be able to seize opportunities, and you’ll miss ones. There will be days where you feel down and lost, and days where you feel you own the world.

Then again, new story, new lesson and life goes on.

No matter how many times frustration could take over your life, and no matter how many times you stumble along the way; one thing you should always keep in your heart and mind is that everything happens for a reason.

A closed door you couldn’t get through was put on your way to see other paths you’re meant to go through. Every time you failed to achieve a dream was just to prepare you giving you strength and persistence for a bigger dream. Every person who passed your way and left you right there in the middle was to teach you there’s better out there, you deserve better. Then again, life will move on.

Just remember, leave it all behind. Get submerged by every feeling, experience it with every ounce of energy and move on. Fall, and stand up again stronger than ever. Fall in love, trust people, get heart broken and fix the broken pieces into something stronger and beautiful. Shine! Leave the past behind, let the wind carry it away, like those autumn leaves. Live for today, enjoy what you have and give yourself a chance for a rebirth.

Your Guide To Spring Makeup Looks BY: AMINA METWALLY From the cold & frosty weather with its dark shades, to all the flowers and colors coming up our way with Spring/ Summer 2017; we are all about colors. This spring we are going softer with our eye makeup trends during the day and creating show stopping looks for the night makeup. We’ve got you a round up for the best looks and products inspired by the renowned makeup guru Huda Kattan DAY TO DAY / WORK LOOK: It’s important to prep your skin before applying makeup, so you will have your eye cream on then your primer. For work makeup: Place a nude eyeshadow color with a natural beige undertone or a pink one, define your eyes with eyeliner kohl and smudge it a bit then add mascara.

NIGHT LOOK: One of the most trending palettes currently and it’s definitely one of my most favorite palette is Huda Beauty Rose Gold palette, it has some nude, matte & sparkling popping colors that you can use for your night look. Natural Remedies For Longer Thicker Lashes

COCONUT MILK: It is rich in fats and proteins that nourish the lashes and improve their growth. Dip a cotton swap in cold coconut milk and apply it on your lashes. Leave it for 10 minutes then rinse it off. Repeat this remedy twice a day for a few months and you’ll notice the changes.

LEMON PEELS AND CASTOR OIL:

OLIVE OIL: Rich in vitamin E and oleic acid, this oil nourishes your lashes helping them to grow faster. Dip an old mascara brush or a cotton swab in warm olive oil. Before going to bed brush the oil over your lashes just as you apply mascara and leave them overnight. Wash off in the morning with lukewarm water and repeat this remedy daily.

TIP: Never go to bed without removing your eye makeup.

Massage your eyelids which improves blood flow to the hair follicles meaning stimulating lashes growth and preventing their breakage and thining.

Lemon peels are rich in vitamins C, B folic acid and other nutrients. Put 1 tbsp of dried peels in a container and add to them enough castor oil so the peels get soaked.

Allow it to be totally soaked for a couple of weeks. When the mixture is ready, use an old mascara brush and apply the oil on your lashes before going to bed. Leave it overnight and wash off in the morning with lukewarm water. Repeat on daily basis for best results.

But did you know that this look was inspired by different eras of France. It is without a doubt that vintage style adds a touch of royalty to your house and you can never go wrong with it once you know more about the styles.

LOUIS XIII (LOUIS TREIZE):

Furniture gives a large place to wood-turning, carving, moldings and veneers. Therefore, seats and tables show richly turned beaded, twist or baluster legs These chairs have a straight back with H form stretchers on the bottom to hold it together. Solid cabinets and armoires show separate columns, carved and deeply molded panels of diamond-shaped or Maltese cross design.

YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO CHANGE THE PAST! Sure, our past affects where we are in life now, but we can’t live in it.

Mistakes we’ve made, people that have hurt us, wrong decisions... etc. they are all things of the past.

The problem here is that many times we get stuck in the past. Then we find ourselves living each day with regrets or asking “what ifs,” wondering how our life might be

different if we could change things that already happened. But lets be realistic here, will we really be able to change anything that has happened? No! Instead of living in the past, try asking yourself “What if I miss something new and wonderful because I can’t let go of my past?”

Start Your Morning off Healthy GRANOLA CUPS INGREDIENTS: • 3 1/2 c. old-fashioned rolled oats • 1/2 c. coconut flakes • 1/3 c. chopped pistachios • 1/4 c. extra-virgin olive oil • 2/3 c. honey, plus more for serving • pinch of salt • 3 egg whites • Greek yogurt, for serving • Slice strawberries, for serving

DIRECTIONS: 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large mixing bowl, combine oats, coconut, pistachios, olive oil, honey, and salt. Coat muffin cups with cooking spray. Press some of the granola mixture into each muffin cup, forming a bowl shape. Bake until lightly golden around the edges, 12 to 14 minutes.

2. Refrigerate 20 minutes, and then use a butter knife to gently remove each granola cup from the muffin tin. Top each one with Greek yogurt, a honey drizzle and sliced strawberries.

DIRECTIONS: 1. Preheat oven to 350° and line an 8"-x5” pan with parchment paper.

2. Combine bananas, oats, eggs, maple syrup, baking soda, vanilla, and salt in a blender. Blend until you have a smooth batter, about 1 minute. Fold walnuts into the mixture.

3. Pour batter into prepared pan and arrange banana slices on top. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the middle of the bread comes out clean, about 20 minutes.

4. Let cool in pan for 15 minutes, then invert loaf onto a cooling rack to cool completely.

Reem Jano Shines in Milan Could you tell us about your journey with jewelry design?

Actually I was an interior architect to begin with. So I've always had passion for design and it is something I could relate to my field of study. I've worked as a project manager in a contracting company where I later had to be on a maternity leave. As I was planning to join back, something happened and I felt something within me had changed. I didn't know how exactly to put my love for design into art till I realized I want to learn more about jewelry design. That's when I joined Azza Fahmy Design Studio. I loved how immersed I was in every piece I design, and then at 2014, that was my first exposure to the market as I showcased my design in Cairo Fashion Night. I was overwhelmed by people's reaction towards my design which gave me a push forwarded and from this point I started going on social media platforms.

Being awarded in Artistar Jewels in 2017 in Milan is really impressive; can you tell us more about the story behind it?

Artistar Jewels is an exhibition that features selected designers for their artistic relevance and I was glad to be one of the designers chosen to take part in this massive exhibition and I was overwhelmed by the fact of being selected just by seeing photographs of my work where later I sent them some of my pieces. I was honored to showcase 4 of my pieces among other 350 pieces for renowned artists from all over the world where I was the only Egyptian and Middle Eastern. I got awarded for collaboration with De Liguoro, one of Italy’s top and most renowned designers and I’m blessed for this amazing opportunity.

What was the inspiration behind your piece that received the award?

As I’ve early mentioned I’ve participated with four pieces but the one I got awarded for, is the closest to my heart and that’s for the story behind it. There was one day when I was feeling down and frustrated. I thought about listening to some music to help me relax before sleep. It was a piano music piece that I last listened to right before I closed my eyes. For all I know is the next day I woke up with a design in my mind and I could see it vividly like it is already there.

I worked on the necklace design and I called it Piano Piano. This was the piece I got awarded for which I later discovered that “Piano-Piano” in Italian means “Calm Down”. These are the moments when you feel the whole universe has got a plan working out perfectly on your favor.

Jewelry highlights women's identity so how do you describe the woman who's dressed in Reem Jano Jewelry?

My design is for women who are different and know how to stand out among the crowd, women who are away from being traditional and embrace their uniqueness. It is for women with edge yet loves timeless elegance.

Do you have plans of expansion internationally or are you focusing currently on the Egyptian fashion industry?

Actually I regard my collaboration with De Liguoro as the first type for my designs to get know on an internationally wider scope. I currently have it in mind to put a good marketing and strategy plan from which I’ll start taking my brand worldwide.
