 Congratulations to our Employee of the Quarter ! Paul Kola has been named New Hope Housing’s Employee of the Quarter! Originally joining us as a volunteer in 2014, Paul grew to love assisting residents in the Employment and Education Resource Center at Kennedy Shelter where he worked with them to improve their resumes and apply for jobs. When a position opened the following year, Paul applied and was a natural for the

Employment Developer position. Since then, Paul has developed relationships with many area employers and created pathways for hundreds of residents to employment. (Few people can network like Paul does!) He was a driving force in the very successful Community Job and Resource Fair held earlier this month in Alexandria and serves on the Employment Committee of the Partnership to Prevent and End Homelessness in the City of Alexandria. He continues to work with residents at the Alexandria Community Shelter and, as nominated by his coworkers, Paul is known for going above and beyond to serve residents. He has said many times that he enjoys having a job where he has the opportunity “to change people’s lives.”

 Tech Forum: Box Tutorial Session Paul Kola (ACS Job Developer) facilitated an instruction on Box basics. Key topics were how to log into Box Sync, file creation & sharing, and Box Notes. CLICK HERE to access the Box Tutorial Library for video refresher courses.

 Tech Forum: Microsoft 365 (Outlook Refresher) LaKesha McGuire (Office Manager) gave a brief “how to” session on Microsoft Outlook email applications. This refresher course included information on how to create a signature tag, calendar and appointment request features, and message formatting. Staff, I hope you are excited about the new IT systems and computers we have put in place at New Hope Housing over the last few months. It's taken a tremendous effort on all that were involved, and especially you as an individual. I know many of you have been going to our "in house" experts with questions, but they are employed to do a job at NHH other than computer support. Thanks to all of you helpers for offering your support to your co-workers during this transition.. After discussion with the Executive Team, we have decided that effective immediately all staff are to contact NeoSystems Tech Support directly at 571-234-5027 to troubleshoot any issues you experience with your computer. NeoSystems is able to help you remotely by “taking over” your pc . Just follow their directions; they are used to all levels of users. We are going to try this through June 30 and evaluate the invoices from NeoSystems. We’d also value your input on your experiences. Please let your supervisor know. The only exceptions to this rule are: 

Please contact LaKesha McGuire (703-799-2293 ext. 23) if you experience issues with accessing your emails due to password issues (locked out/forgot/etc.) She will assist you with resetting it.

Please contact Shaun Dean (703-799-2293 ext. 13) for issues with ADP such as password resets and problems with time sheets.

If you are using a copier and/or printer that has a COS (Capital Office Solutions) label on it, and it needs toners or repairs, please notify your supervisor. Depending on what is needed, your supervisor will contact COS for tech/maintenance support or contact LaKesha with the equipment id to purchase supplies. New Hope Housing is paying for COS copiers and printers maintenance, so COS should be used. If a functioning COS machine is no longer needed at your site, let LaKesha know asap so that she can pick it up and make use of it at another NHH location. If you are using your own personal printer or computer because the equipment at your work station was old or not functioning adequately, please let your supervisor know asap. Your supervisor will work with LaKesha to determine if upgraded equipment is needed. Thank you everyone! Jo Mullen, Chief Administration Officer
