Letter from the President

Key Club Pledge I pledge, on my honor, to uphold the Objects of Key Club International; to build my home, school and community; to serve my nation and God; and combat all forces which tend to undermine these institutions.

Hello fellow Key Club members, I’m happy to report that we’ve been having a great year so far, filled with an abundance of service and fun. We’ve gotten a lot of our new initiatives to take off, such as the website, newsletter, and articles, and it is my hope that we continue on the path we are on with strength. Additionally, our club has seen a lot of growth in interclub activity, and the extent of our events, like Operation Christmas Child. The officers and I are ecstatic to report that we collected 216 boxes this year, almost twice the amount of what we collected last year. While we have accomplished a lot, none of it would be possible with you, the members, so I just want to thank you for all the work you put in to make our Key Club a success. Hope to see you all at the Christmas Social!

Letter from the Editor Hi everyone! I hope you’ve all had a wonderful fall semester so far! I have loved every moment of not only serving alongside you, but also getting the opportunity to know each and every one of you better throughout the year. Again, Key Club would not be possible without you! Keep up the great work and ace those finals!

Marathon Hosted @LHS:

When our Assistant Principal, Mr. Davis, was in desperate need of student volunteers to host a marathon in our student parking lot, the Lamar Key Club members came to the rescue! Volunteers braved both the cold temperatures that Saturday and the early call time at 6 in the morning. Members helped by passing out refreshments along the route to passing marathon participants.

Mission Arlington with AHS:

Our Key Club met up with our peers at Arlington High School to serve at our local charity center, Missson Arlington, during their busy holiday season.

Larson Perot Night: From passing out cookies to creating obstacle courses and handling dry ice, our Key Club members had an amazing time assisting Perot Museum's exhibit night at Larson Elementary.

HOTO HOTO Why did you join key club?

What are some fun facts/general background info about you? "Some of my hobbies include reading (I LOVE Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, other “mainstream” dystopian novels and Nicola Yoon or John Green teenage romances). I also enjoy calligraphy and watching movies. Extracurriculars I am involved in outside of Key Club include HOSA, NHS, and orchestra." What is Key Club to you? "I find Key Club to be a place where you can get together with friends for the common goal of helping out the community while also having a ton of fun in the process. Its also been a great way to foster deeper connections with fellow members of the community at schools, parks and churches, etc. I had never associated with before."

Practically all my friends were in Key Club freshman year while i unfortunately was not. I liked the message of contributing to the community and helping others. I had always wanted to get more involved with the community make Arlington feel a bit more personal, and I felt that Key Club was my outlet to do just that. What has been your favorite memory with key club so far? It’s hard to choose just one, but i’d have to pick the the River Legacy Fall Festival. I was put at the craft station which was very fun. All of the children were so adorable, and it was nice to teach them how to make Halloween and environmental-awareness crafts as well as seeing their engagement toward the activities.
