RECOMMENDED // MARTY KEARNEY X-MEN // Disney + couldn’t have come at a better time. The day Boris announced lock down Disney+ was ready to go live in the UK months after it went live in the States and it was well worth the wait. With endless content from Disney Classics, Pixar, National Geographic, Star Wars and enough Marvel media to keep all us dorks happy for a long lock down. I myself have been making my way through an old Saturday morning cartoon favourite the X Men cartoon. Re watching this has bought back so many memories and I’m not ashamed I was a
CIRCLE OF FRIENDS // I have so many favourite films from childhood favourites, recently watched films and other films I’ve fallen in love with over the years but if I’m ever asked the question what is your favourite movie? I 90% of the time answer Circle of Friends. It’s a mid 90s movie starring Minnie Driver in her first lead role and Chris (made me realise I was definitely gay) O’Donnell. Circle of friends is set in a small town in Ireland in the 50’s, it follows 3 childhood friends has they go to college in Dublin. Chris O’ Donnell plays Drivers love interest and he’s so handsome. This was filmed after a scent of a woman and before he played Robin in batman forever but every time I watch him I get that crush all over again. And Minnie Driver is so loveable and relatable as out hero Benny. Alan Cumming plays the main antagonist, the creepy Sean Walsh, his performance would give creeps the creeps lol. Look out for it you will be glad you did.

pre-teen when I watched this and watched until I was in my mid-teens I even played it as well with my cousin and yes you can bet your bottom dollar I was always Rouge and he was Storm and yes we even done their accents of a southern belle and an African woman. X Men was always a cartoon a head of its time for its mature themes and even today this 37-year-old is just enjoying it the second time around. I can’t wait for these characters to be introduced to the marvel cinematic universe.
