For many it is how they feel inside and for others it is getting the opportunity to celebrate with their peers and family on a specific day unfortunately 2021 is looking a lot like last year. Newry Pride is not going ahead, Dublin and Derry Pride, taking a digital approach and plans for Belfast are yet to be announced.

ELECTRA LACNT

A pathway to freedom and belonging, but also a reminder of where we came from, and what we still have to fight for. Pride is and always will be a protest, and we all need to unite as a community.

WHICKED WHITE

Pride to me, means standing tall. Standing hand and hand with are LGBTQI+ siblings and supporting one another. Pride is a place where difference is no longer simply tolerated, but celebrated.

Pride is belonging. Pride is home!

What pride means to me is that we can come together and be our fabulous selfs but inspiring those that feel they have no one or nowhere to go, we as a community hold that “beacon of hope” we also remind the younger generation of all the hardships we have gone through and that pride originally started as a riot \ protest so that we can have the rights we have today.

to show everyone who you truly are! Pride is standing up for what you believe in and not letting anyone get you down for being the true you! Let your true colours show this pride month

Pride gives me a feeling of belonging and being accepted for who I am, a sense of family. We all deserve love and acceptance. Happy Pride you beautiful creatures.

Pride for me is a platform to highlight the work we still have to do to call ourselves equal. We must get rid of the gender, racial and sexual hierarchy in our community. All of us or none of us. I’m proud of how far we have come already! Uppa Queers. X

Pride for me is embracing everyone for who they are, a time for the community to come together and show we are United in the fight for equality. We deserve to be celebrated and accepted as humans. To quote My personal icon “Kylie Minogue” love is love, it never ends! Prides also an excuse (not that you need one) to play loads of Kylie and Madonna!

Pride to me is a way for us in the LGBTQ+ community to truly express ourselves, celebrating love and equality. Me as a gay man and drag queen being able to be myself and express my fabulous alter ego Sapphire Sparks. Flying our flags with pride.

I’ve been celebrating pride for over 22 years and watching the crowds grow consistently, it has been magical ! Each year more and more people, young to old, from straight to gay not just standing watching but cheering and supporting the diversity and pride in our community ! Happy pride everyone !

Pride gives me the chance to grow; to be educated by people that I once, due to internalised homophobia and lack of sense of community, would have looked down upon unfortunately. It provides a sense of belonging.
