PRIDE // WHAT IT MEANS TO ME
WHAT IS PRIDE? For many it is how they feel inside and for others it is getting the opportunity to celebrate with their peers and family on a specific day unfortunately 2021 is looking a lot like last year. Newry Pride is not going ahead, Dublin and Derry Pride, taking a digital approach and plans for Belfast are yet to be announced.

Pride to me, means standing tall. Standing hand and hand with are LGBTQI+ siblings and supporting one another. Pride is a place where difference is no longer simply tolerated, but celebrated.
Pride gives me a feeling of belonging and being accepted for who I am, a sense of family. We all deserve love and acceptance. Happy Pride you beautiful creatures.
Pride is belonging. Pride is home!

A pathway to freedom and belonging, but also a reminder of where we came from, and what we still have to fight for. Pride is and always will be a protest, and we all need to unite as a community.
Pride means having a place in what seems to be a messed up world. Pride is about having the confidence and the charisma to show everyone who you truly are! Pride is standing up for what you believe in and not letting anyone get you down for being the true you! Let your true colours show this pride month

What pride means to me is that we can come together and be our fabulous selfs but inspiring those that feel they have no one or nowhere to go, we as a community hold that “beacon of hope” we also remind the younger generation of all the hardships we have gone through and that pride originally started as a riot \ protest so that we can have the rights we have today.
Gay rights are human rights so keep fighting to be seen, heard and listened too as an equal and nothing less. Thank you.
