INTERVIEWING LUDOVICO BUSETTI WFP President

Interviewer What are your topics about? President Our first topic is about guaranteeing food safety in the aftermath of natural disasters. Our second topic is about providing food to refugees in host countries. I. What is your impression about your committee after this first session? P. The delegates seem to be very prepared and committed to the debate; I am extremely happy and satisfied with how things have been going. I. Do you think that some delegations are more crucial than others during the discussion? P. During the discussion of certain topics, some delegations may represents countries more involved in the problem than others; but I am confident that all the delegates can be equally useful to the debate itself. I. Do you find differences between the point of view and preparation of local delegates and foreign delegates? P. I am extremely happy of how local and foreign delegates have prepared themselves for this MUN in regards of the point of view I find that the country of origin does not really influence the debate at all. I. Any thoughts to share about the opening ceremony? P. I have found Mrs Rossi's speech particularly enlightening, but have appreciated the opening ceremony at all. I. Thank you very much. P. You're welcome .

IMPRESSIONS In today’s morning sessions committees got closer to the end of the first topic. Visitors many times couldn’t attend to the debates for the numerous simple caucuses, the standing meetings where delegates stand, gather in groups and find more easily the required solutions. Swarms of messages flied to the delight of the running ushers, the moderators struggled to contain the impetus of the delegates who are so anxious to express their ideas, themselves and give the best. These sessions may seem chaotic but they are the very beating heart of the Foscamun for they are the chance for the delegates for achieving an enthusiastic solution. Hypatius

FIRST AND SECOND SESSION OF WHO Yesterday I attended the first and the second session of WHO (World Health Organization) and I have to say I enjoyed very much these sessions which faced the problem of illegal organ trade in the world. It was so interesting and its delegates so able and competent that every reporter barged in and listened to the debate. The delegates presented many ideas, most of them very brilliant: the delegate of Brazil suggested to use common media, such as TV or magazines, in order to raise awareness in public opinion about the worrisome problem of trading human organs; for indigent, illiterate people (main victims of traffickers) images and drawings should be used. Another idea was the foundation of a hypothetical Organs Bank, completely legal, and the creation of a database that lists and assembles every yearly surgery. There were also excellent suggestions like supervisions of hospitals and houses, where backdoor operations take place. Almost everybody took part, above all the delegate of the United States of America and the delegations of Brazil and India; the moderator blamed the participants three times (once for speaking too softly and twice for using short forms), no episodes of rudeness occurred. During the beginning of the second session the subject fell into repetitiveness, but then they found again the rhythm. I trust this committee and I encourage everybody to visit it because it’s worth the trouble. Piero Guolo Interviewing Cecilia Manzan (Receptionist)

Interviewer What are your tasks during the sessions? Receptionist My job is to assist visitors, which are mainly delegates’ relatives but also in general people who are interested in this project. In particular my task is to be nice with anyone who needs help or informations. My colleague Beatrice Padovan registers the visitors. I What do you think of FOSCAMUN 2017 organisation? R It is simply wonderful since now; we are basically independent but the board is really helpful for any problem we run into. Everybody is really helpful, even with problems that would not be strictly in their sector. I What is, in your opinion, the main aim for each public relations participant? R Basically we must enlighten the tasks of the organisation; as I said previously we are really self -managed. In the rare moments during which we have no visitors to take care of we have the possibility to attend the sessions. The delegates are doing a great job! I Thank you. R Thank you!

INTERVIEWING UNEP DELEGATE Interviewer First of all, which is your delegation? Delegate I’m representing Germany in UNEP. I. Do you agree with your country’s point of view? D. Yes. In our committee we are dealing with the effect of climate changes, and the major topics are pollution and protection of animals and environment. The country I represent is always available to support in every way, and willing to create a better place to live in for everyone. I. What do you think of your committee? D. I enjoy it very much, and I’m working very well with all the delegates. I. Last question: how far for resolutions? D. We are probably going to conclude in the next hour, because our topic is really interesting . I. Thank you for your time. D. You’re welcome.

Foscamun role play

Deputy Mayor, Luciana Colle, during the Press Conference, said that FMUN is a great play made by students who want to simulate ONU’s committees in order to increase their own diplomacy and language skills. Essentially, by her point of view, FMUN is a positive play where it’s possible to grow up. We asked to a visitor whether she agreed with Deputy Mayor. She said that she perfectly agree with her, because FMUN is a means that helps us to approach us with our life. “FMUN is a gymnasium where delegates prepare theirselves for life” she said, “and it is beautiful seeing young students that work in this project with great effort”.
