LECOM Announces Grand Opening of Ambulatory Surgery Center

LECOM held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Oct 15 for its new Ambulatory Surgery Center, located at 5202 Peach St. in Erie. This facility offers same-day procedures and faster recovery without the need for a hospital stay.

Robert W. Hostoffer, D.O., Receives American Osteopathic Foundation

Lifetime Achievement Award and Santiago Lorenzo, Ph.D., Receives JOM Innovations Research Award at OMED 2024

The American Osteopathic Foundation recognized Robert Hostoffer, D.O., as the recipient of the AOF 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award during this year’s Osteopathic Medical Education Conference (OMED), Sept. 20-22, in San Antonio.

Also at the conference, LECOM’s Dr. Santiago Lorenzo received the JOM Innovations Research Award for the article “Effect of Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment and Bio-Electro Magnetic Energy Regulation (BEMER) Therapy on Generalized Musculoskeletal Neck Pain in Adults.”

LECOM Awarded Three Grants for Behavioral Health Initiatives

Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine is the sole recipient of a $3.26 million cooperative agreement from the Administration on Aging to launch the Behavioral Health Resources for Integrated Development, Growth, Engagement, and Support (BRIDGES) for Older Adults.

LECOM also has been awarded a $1.75 million grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) for the Health Expansion and Access with LECOM Behavioral Health (HEAL-BH) program of telebehavioral health services via primary care settings to underserved and rural communities

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)’s Linking Actions for Unmet Needs in Children’s Health (LAUNCH) program awarded LECOM a $4 million grant over five years

Dr Tuck is no stranger to the spotlight, as he was also recently recognized by JET24 for performing the very first Bridge-Enhanced ACL Repair (BEAR), a procedure that “repairs a patient’s ACL tear without the need for reconstruction.”
