Combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience and reflective practice, our foundation degree will teach you to effectively use play as a therapeutic tool in hospitals, the community and home-based settings. Our extensive support and specialist mentoring will give you a broad understanding of play and recreation, as well as relevant policies in a professional environment. By the end of the degree, you will have deepened your knowledge of using play as a therapeutic tool, supporting child development and using play to promote positive wellbeing. You will also develop your communication and interpersonal skills by working with children, families and other professionals. You will be mentored by a Hospital Play Staff Education Trust (HPSET) registered specialist throughout your course. You can also apply for this professional registration (additional fees associated).
