Take an analytical and practical approach to planning, delivering and assessing inclusive teaching and learning in a post-14 environment. Although this course is not available for you to apply to directly, you may be eligible via your existing employer. Alternatively, you could apply directly for an apprentice teaching position.

Part time: Minimum 2 years Location: Teacher Development Centre, Park Lane Campus

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS* • GCSEs: five GCSE subjects, including three at grade 4 (previous grade C) or above, which must include English and maths

• A levels: a minimum of two

A levels at minimum grade D or equivalent qualifications.

These can be in any subject • Level 3 qualifications: qualification in the subject you wish to teach

Become a learning and skills teacher, and inspire young people and adults across the education and training sector, including adult, further education and higher education contexts.

You will specialise in planning and delivering learning that is relevant, engaging, challenging and current, while supporting learners’ physical, psychological and social wellbeing. Please note, this qualification requires a minimum of 100 hours’ teaching practice (50 hours per year) in a post-14 setting.

By the end of this apprenticeship, your areas of expertise will include (but are not limited to):

• Planning and delivering current, relevant and inspirational learning • Organising and combining syllabus outcomes into meaningful and realistic learning opportunities • Encouraging learners to develop autonomy and resilience, personal and interpersonal effectiveness, social awareness and respect for others • Designing and delivering learning sessions and activities that engage and inspire all learners, while encouraging them to set challenging goals Outcomes of this standard will include the Certificate in Education Level 5 and a Safeguarding Level 2 qualification. Progression may include routes such as obtaining Qualified Teaching Learning and Skills (QTLS) status or a degree course.
