This course gives you a comprehensive knowledge of the dynamics of change in educational contexts, helping you develop innovative approaches to learning and workplace training. You will develop socio-political awareness, negotiating the challenges associated with changes to national policy directives and institution-wide priorities. You will learn how to formulate research priorities, and be encouraged to work with external stakeholders, communities, academics, employers and special interest groups. As you progress, you will gain a deep understanding of education and contemporary educational policies. You will also learn about the educational inquiry process and choose a specialist module to focus on, ranging from special needs to education management. Modules may include: Year 1 • Education Studies • Contemporary Education Policy Year 2 • Educational Inquiry, plus one of the following modules (subject to student numbers): • Change Management in Education • Applied Critical Pedagogy • Changing Contexts for Learning • Specific Educational Needs • Literacy and Language Learning • Education for Sustainable Development Year 3 • Dissertation
