• Secondary School Teacher • Community Education Officer • Teaching Assistant This programme allows you to critically analyse core teaching practices within the secondary school environment and apply them to your own subject area. It blends theoretical study, learning environmental observation and practical application by combining university study with learning practice. By the end of the programme, you will be fully prepared to teach your specialist subject to Key Stage 4 (GCSE level) students. Two-thirds of the course will be spent on work placement modules, allowing you to gain practical experience and an understanding of teaching at secondary level. The remaining time will be spent at our new Teacher Development Centre. You will develop professional and interprofessional practice, and gain a broad knowledge of teaching, learning and assessment. You will also gain a deep understanding of personal development and how to support your students’ growth. Please note you will need to hold a live enhanced DBS, which may incur costs.
