Be instrumental in supporting children and young people’s development, with an introduction to a range of subjects relating to childcare and education. You will explore contemporary issues relevant to the sector and embed your learning in the context of professional practice. From play and politics to language and leadership, you will study all aspects of supporting a child’s holistic development, and learn how to create an appropriate learning environment. You will also gain insight into early years running, and gain in-depth knowledge of safeguarding children and vulnerable people from risk. We emphasise putting theory into practice, so you will undertake a relevant work placement to gain essential practical experience.
