Halloween with Pets
Halloween can be a festive and fun time for children and families. But for pets? Lets face it, it can be a nightmare. While our pets may be getting used to the sight of humans wearing masks, visits from ghouls and witches take it to a whole new level. Skip the stress this year by following a few helpful tips listed below.
• Indoors is certainly better than outdoors on Halloween. Putting your pet in a room away from the front door will prevent them from darting outside into the night • Trick or treat candies are not for pets - All forms of chocolate can be dangerous, even fatal for dogs and cats. • Dress up for pets are only for willing participants. • Keep glow sticks away from pets. Pets who get into glow sticks may drool, paw at their mouth, vomit and become agitated. • Keep Halloween plants such as corn and pumpkin out of reach. Ingesting uncooked, potentially mouldy Halloween pumpkin or corn displays can cause gastrointestinal upset. • Giant webs are designed for plastic spiders. Ensure pets can't get tangled in any decorations.
