Direct 4 Baby are more of a specialist independent retailer and we don’t have the huge marketing budgets that the nationals have access to or some of the more established independents, so we feel that product launches generate a significant interest and drive customers into store. For example, the new Egg launch was staged over weeks and months and through various forms of media which generated lots of leads and in turn orders. I’ve not seen anything like that in the industry for quite some time and it was quite refreshing and bold to invest such a huge amount in advertising, which I truly believe paid off.
