Stavanger Art Museum

DAY 1

Arrive Stavanger

On arrival at Stavanger Airport Sola, guests will be greeted and transferred on the short journey to their downtown hotel. Guests can then enjoy free time ahead of dinner at the hotel restaurant.

DAY 2

The Ultimate Stavanger City Tour

Following breakfast, your guide will collect you and take you on a fantastic tour of Stavanger, where they will reveal insights into the deep history of this amazing city that has done so much to shape the profile of Norway. The tour will help set the scene for your vacation and will help you navigate the locations of the main attractions that you will enjoy on your holiday. which was constructed from 1850 to 1853 and was the former observation tower of Stavanger, will provide you with a panoramic view of the city. A tour of Stavanger Cathedral, Norway’s oldest cathedral, which serves as a stunning centerpiece, really helps you get a feel for this amazing city.

You will also take a walk through the “Street of Colours” which is decorated with incredible street art and boasts a wonderful array of coffee shops and bistros. You will stroll to the old town and take in the feeling of Old Stavanger, before stopping off for a light lunch.

Cruise to Flor & Fjære

At 12:00, you will depart on the scenic cruise through Stavanger’s island archipelago towards Sør-Hidle, where you will disembark amongst a sea of flowers an begin your tour of Flor & Fjære. On arrival at the island, guides are ready to show you the beauty of the gardens and share their secrets and history of this amazing private estate. The garden tour will give you insight into 3 generations of passion and care of this wonderful floral and garden estate.

Dinner will be served in the restaurant after your garden tour. Chef, André Mulder, presents a delicate, fresh dinner inspired by all the corners of the world, starting with his famous fish soup. You will arrive back in Stavanger early evening, before freshening up at your hotel ahead of your next surprise.

Stavanger Symphony Orchestra

Now your mind, body and soul is filled with Stavanger, we have arranged for you to have an evening of relaxation made possible by taking in a concert performance by Stavanger’s Symphony Orchestra at the Fartein Valen concert hall.

DAY 3

Cruise the spectacular Lysefjord & Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock)

Stavanger harbour and depart at 10:00 on a wonderful day cruise that gets you close up and personal with the majestic Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) that reaches into the sky above incredible Lysefjord. This exciting Lysefjord cruise takes you to the wonderful and mysterious Vagabond’s Cave and up to the Hengjane Falls where you can feel the spray of mountain water. You will enjoy the striking scenery from the comfort of our boat’s sheltered cabin, with panoramic windows all around and also where you can venture out on the spacious sundeck.

Stavanger Art Museum & More

Your vessel arrives back at Stavanger at approximately 13:00. Guests can then break for lunch before heading to Stavanger’s Art Museum which draws its history roots from Stavanger’s art society of the mid 1800’s where its collection began in 1865. Today the museum is located in a wonderful park at Mosvannsparken where the museum boasts a collection of over 2,600 works. Chief among these are Norway’s largest Lars Hertervigcollection and a steadily increasing number of paintings by Kitty Kielland.

Guests will then head to the Cheese House, where you will experience a selection of locally produced award-winning cheeses and various small side dishes, helping give you a real feel of the wonderful produce the Stavanger region has to offer.

Following free time, guests will head back to the hotel before preparing for a gourmet evening that will see you enjoy an amazing array of cuisine by dining at three of Stavanger’s finest restaurants, Fish & Cow, Nick & Jonnies and Renaa Matbaren. During your 3-hour gourmet journey you will be served two superb signature dishes with exciting seasonal variations at each of the restaurants. Drinks are adapted to the dining experience as you order along the way.
