The Stavanger region has no less than ten golf courses, which all offer professionel quality and are mostly open all year. You can chose between six 9-hole and four 18-hole courses. Seven of them are within a half hour range from the airport, so you can easily play at a new course every day during your stay here. Chose a hotel in downtown Stavanger or close to the beach, and use it as a hub for your stay, and explore the courses in your own pace. You can also head for the mountains and play golf at the mountain resort of Sirdal or at the Preikestolen basecamp area.

DAY 1

Arrive and play

After your arrival in Stavanger Airport, pick up a rental car and head for the first course. Sola Golfklubb is on the other side of the runway, so you can be ready for your first swing of the club in no time. You can choose to stay at the adjacent and historic Sola Strand Hotel, dating back to 1914. Here you can take a drink in garden or the cozy bar after your game, and enjoy dinner in the preserved interior of the restaurant from the cruise vessel Montroyal. Afterwards take a stroll at the beach and see the sun sink into the sea

DAY 2

Plug and play

Enjoy a good breakfast while you enjoy the views of the sand dunes and the North Sea. Needless to say, you have plenty of choices for your full day of golfing. Either you can head for the mountain resort of Sirdal to play a game on the course wedged in between the river and mountain. Have a lunch at the magnificent restaurant Slottet, resting on the cliff side of the mountain, offering spectacular view of the valley. You can also choose to stay in the vicinity of Stavanger and combine the playing with other activities in between. Why not start with a round at Sandnes Golfklubb, before heading to the cobbled streets of Sandnes for lunch and maybe do some shopping. Later on you can head for one of the downtown hotels of Stavanger, play a round at the Stavanger Golfklubb while building up an appetite to enjoy a good dinner and some nightlife in the city.

DAY 3

Hike and play

Driving through the world’s longest underwater tunnel might be an interesting experience as well. You can experience this remarkable piece of engineering on your way to Preikestolen basecamp. Here you can have a round of golf on the Preikestolen Golfklubb. If time permits you can do a hike to the famous Preikestolen – Pulpit Rock – before heading back to the basecamp where you spend the night. Before dinner you can even try a round of frisbee golf on the challenging track surrounding the basecamp.

DAY 4

Play and fly

Depending on time of your departure you might be able to have a game before flying home. After breakfast you can head to the Sola Golfklubb at Forus. It is a challenging course with a superb location. After your game you only have a 10 minutes’ drive to the airport.
