TAKING HIGH SCHOOLERS TO NEW HEIGHTS

AVIATION ACADEMY

• Free college for high school juniors and seniors.

• In-person classes offered at the Aerospace and Advanced Manufacturing Center, with transportation provided.

• Open the door to a two-year degree in aviation by completing a short-term certificate designed for high school students.

• Transfer opportunities to four-year institutions, including ECU and ECSU, are available.

• Education pathways leading to FAA Private Pilot certification or Airframe and Powerplant certifications are available.

• Students will be inducted into the Lancer Society of Aviation upon completion of CTE certificate.

• Internships in aviation and industrial systems are available.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

• All LCC courses are free for currently enrolled high school students through the Career and College Promise program.

• High school graduates may be eligible to continue free college courses through the LCC Guarantee scholarship (in-state tuition and fees only). For eligibility details, visit lenoircc.edu/future/lccguarantee.

• Students who enroll in the Manned Pilot, AAS degree program upon completion of an Aviation CTE certificate are eligible to receive an LCC Foundation “Dollar-for-Dollar Scholarship” for up to 100 hours of flight instruction.

- Flight instruction must be received through one of LCC’s preapproved flight training partners via LCC’s agreed upon rate.

- To be eligible, students must have an LCC cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher and be continuously enrolled.

- Funding for Dollar-for-Dollar matching is limited. Additional terms may apply. Apply early!

AVIATION CENTER

Construction is underway on the Senator Jim Perry Aviation Center for Excellence, a state-of-the-art training facility at the NC Global TransPark offering aviation curriculum and workforce development. The facility will include an aircraft hangar, traditional classrooms, and maintenance laboratories.

Aviation Management is the pathway for students who have a passion for aviation from outside the cockpit. Management students are well-versed in the language of aviation and are the bridge between maintainers, aircrew, and corporate infrastructure.

Aviators earning their Commercial Pilot’s licenses through LCC’s Manned Aviation program find themselves in the fast-paced world of an aviation cockpit. Program alumni are currently spread throughout the world operating aircraft loaded with passengers, VIPs, or cargo.

• Get a jump on your flying career by receiving ground instruction from LCC and earning college credit through our Private Pilot Essentials Certificate Program.

• Experience solo flights as early as 16 years old.

• Earn a Private Pilot License by age 17.

PILOT UNMANNED AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS,

Students who aspire to join the world of aviation but are more at ease with their feet on the ground may discover the Unmanned Pilot program is the best fit for them. Unmanned Aerial Systems is a rapidly growing segment of the aviation world, with drone use expanding worldwide. Unmanned Pilot students will master aviation concepts and culture while specializing in remote drone operations. The Unmanned Pilot pathway leads outside the classroom where students will be tasked with conducting specialized projects in agriculture, construction, real estate, or search-and-rescue drone operations.

AVIATION MAINTENANCE

Enroll in an FAA certificate in Airframe through a CTE pathway!

The Aviation Maintenance pathway lets you keep your feet on the ground and work on building, repairing, and maintaining aircraft. Get your FAA rating in Airframe and Powerplant and become a certified Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT).

• Airframe courses are currently being offered at the AAMC.

• As a high school student, get FAA certified in Airframe, completely free of cost. Upon completion of Airframe certification, you will be eligible to complete Powerplant certification (once Aviation Center for Excellence is complete).

• These two certificates can lead to the Aviation Systems Technology, AAS degree.

The Industrial Systems Technology curriculum is designed to prepare or upgrade individuals to safely service, maintain, repair, or install equipment. Instruction includes theory and skill training needed for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and diagnosing industrial systems.
