Lenoir Community College offers a comprehensive program based on the needs and interests of adults in Lenoir, Greene, and Jones Counties. Programs are designed to provide:

• Opportunities to achieve Adult High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma/GED.

LCC Health-Related Courses provide training that is both fulfilling and leads to rewarding careers in fields dedicated to serving others and improving the health and well-being of individuals in local and surrounding communities. Employment opportunities for graduates include positions in hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, nursing homes, health insurance organizations, outpatient clinics, physicians' offices, hospice care, and mental health facilities, among others.

SOLAR TECHNOLOGIES

Solar is a fast-growing industry, and the cost of solar panels continues to fall.

Solar Photovoltaics (PV) is a great focus for anyone interested in working in an in-demand field.

Solar PV Associate

This entry-level solar energy training course is designed to help individuals understand the fastest growing form of power generation in the world. This is the best place to start your journey into the solar workforce!

Solar PV Installer

This intermediate-level course builds on the fundamentals of solar energy, electricity, and safety by training students to work with wires, circuits, and panels. Learn how to install solar panels and the balance of components, including inverters, charge controllers, and battery banks for grid-tied and off-grid systems.

Solar PV Designer

This course will familiarize you with the steps and considerations necessary before and during a solar installation project. This includes addressing customer expectations, paperwork and approvals, location options, code compliance, and project site assessment.

Solar Sales

This specialized solar training program was developed to train individuals on understanding the technical components of a solar photovoltaic system so they can better communicate its benefits to potential customers. The 16-hour online course will help you to effectively sell solar PV systems.

Lenoir Community College Public Safety Education Programs offer a variety of classes via the internet and the traditional classroom setting. Our programs are geared for the individual as well as hospital, EMS, fire, or law enforcement personnel who are interested in expanding their knowledge.

The Workforce Development and Continuing Education based EMS programs at Lenoir Community College do not currently offer advanced placement options. These programs include EMT, AEMT, Paramedic. Students in these programs are currently not allowed to transfer clinical hours or skills from other programs and must complete the required minimum clinical hours, field hours, and skills assessments to complete the program and be eligible for NCOEMS and NREMT testing.

It is our mission to provide affordable, innovative, high-quality, and state-of-the art educational opportunities to meet the needs of the EMS workforce and prepare students to be job ready .” -

In addition to online didactic course work, the EMT course includes 15 onsite lab skill sessions and a minimum of 48 hours clinical education. The course is scheduled over a 16-week period. The onsite lab skill sessions are held from 0900-1600 on prescheduled dates for each course.

Adult Basic Education

This program of instruction is designed for adults who lack competence in reading, writing, speaking, problem solving, or computation at a level necessary to function in society, on a job, or in a family.

High School Equivalency Diploma (HSE Diploma)

This program of instruction is designed to prepare adult students to pass the high school equivalency tests that lead to a high school equivalency diploma.

English Language Acqusition (ELA)

This program of instruction is designed for adults who lack competence in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing English.

Adult High School (AHS)

This program of instruction is offered cooperatively with local public school systems help adults earn an Adult High School Diploma.

G.O.A.L.S

Program (Gaining Occupational & Life Skills)

The G.O.A.L.S Program provides students with a successful transition to employment through engaging instruction, project-based learning, and the development of workplace skills necessary for employment. The program was developed in partnership with Lenoir Communiy College, Lenoir County Public Schools, and Vocational Rehabilitation.

HUMAN RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT (HRD)

Human Resources Development (HRD) is a pre-vocational and pre-employment skills training program designed to educate and prepare persons for success in the workplace. HRD is mainly intended for those persons who are unemployed, underemployed, dislocated workers; or employed, but seeking skills upgrading or retraining. Training may include a variety of topics relating to job orientation and motivation, employability skills, self-sufficiency or customized skills training. Training length will vary according to customer needs. HRD can be linked to other college training programs or connected to agencies outside the institution where appropriate. Upon completing prescribed classes, students are assisted with job placement or further training.

NCWorks Career Centers provide employers a single place to address their employment and training needs.

The Small Business Center Network, comprised of 58 Small Business Centers throughout North Carolina, supports the development of new businesses and the growth of existing businesses by being a communitybased provider of training, counseling, and resource information. The Small Business Center is located at the Aerospace and Advanced Manufacturing Center at 3800 Hwy 58 N, Kinston, 2 miles north of Kinston High School on the left. There are no charges for the use of the Small Business Center’s resources or to engage its business consulting services.

Airframe Class New Offering

Aviation Maintenance Technician education at Lenoir Community College provides the foundations for students to earn their Federal Aviation Administration Airframe certificate. Holders of this certificate are on their way to working in the aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul field. Local employers in our service area such as flyExclusive, Draken, Mountain Air Cargo, and Fleet Readiness Center need qualified aircraft maintenance technicians for their daily operations.

• 480 hour certification

• $180 cost

• Prepares students to take the FAA examination for certification
