Lyrics by GLENN SLATER New Music by ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER
Welcome to the beautiful home of LCCFPA. While you are in our house, we ask that you are a courteous neighbor to those around you.
· Time your exits and re-entry to the seating area to occur only at intermission or breaks between songs. This is a courtesy to other guests around you who will appreciate you keeping these disruptions to a minimum.
· Save texting until after the show. The light from phones is distracting to others throughout the theatre. Please keep them turned off.
· Snacks and drinks from concessions are welcome in the seating area, but as a courtesy to those around you, eat and drink as quietly as possible. Know that odors and noisy wrappers can disturb others.
· Once the show starts, let the stage be the center of attention. We ask that you turn off all cell phones and limit conversation. If children are attending this performance with you, exit the theatre immediately if they become restless or talkative.
· Taking videos or pictures is strictly prohibited. Patrons seen taking pictures or videos will be asked to put their device away. We are excited to have you with us and hope that, while being a courteous neighbor, you enjoy the show.
WELCOME
From the President of Lenoir Community College
Dr. Rusty Hunt
Dear Patrons of the Arts,
Welcome to Lenoir Community College and to this electrifying production of School of Rock - The Musical. This musical is based on the Paramount movie written by Mike White with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. It takes a village to bring so much talent to a stage, and we are so thrilled that you are a part of it. Your attendance not only supports our fine arts programs, but it also supports our students through the College’s Foundation scholarship program. Thank you for assisting our students in bringing their educational dreams to life. We have many opportunities throughout the year where you can be involved. Our community is stronger because of your generosity.
Thank you to our very own faculty and staff and to the community actors and actresses who have brought School of Rock to life on stage. Their dedication and talent have provided us with an energizing production that reminds us of the transformative power of music.
Again, welcome to Lenoir Community College. I hope to see you throughout the year as your support is appreciated.
Sincerely,
President, Lenoir Community College
WELCOME
From the Executive Director of the LCC Foundation
Dear valued donors and community members,
We are honored and privileged to have been a small part of the exceptional production of School of Rock - The Musical. It is through the generous contributions of individuals like you that we can offer cultural opportunities to students and enhance the Lenoir Community College Foundation Scholarship Program. We firmly believe that the Arts are vital to the quality of life in Lenoir, Greene, and Jones Counties and we could not have achieved this without your unwavering support.
We appreciate the efforts you have made towards increasing scholarship funds for our students, as many individuals in our area are not able to afford a college education. It is with scholarships that students are given the opportunity to gain an education that shapes their critical thinking proficiencies, creativity, interpersonal skills, sense of social responsibility, and earning potential. Your continued support has made all the difference in enabling us to carry forward this mission, and for that, we extend our deepest gratitude.
We ask that, if you would like to help a student gain an education or support the Fine Arts Department, please contact us at 252-233-6812. With the exceptional talent at Lenoir Community College and in our community, along with your invaluable support, we are confident in our ability to continue providing access to educational opportunities and enriching the cultural experience for everyone in our communities.
Again, we want to express our heartfelt appreciation to our donors and community members for the dedication and encouragement they have shown us. Please enjoy the show and rest assured that you have made a lasting and positive impact on the lives of many deserving students.
Executive Director, Lenoir Community College Foundation
Mrs. Jeanne Kennedy
DIRECTOR'S NOTE
We are so excited you have chosen to spend your time with us and hope you are prepared to be swept away by the infectious energy, electrifying performances, and unforgettable rock 'n' roll anthems of School of Rock - The Musical
A production of this kind does not simply “come together” miraculously. It is hand-crafted and detailed by many hands and minds behind the scenes.
The cast and crew have prepared for months developing their characters, learning music and choreography, making alterations, building sets, painting, cleaning, sorting, labeling, the list goes on. It is exciting to see all their hard work come together, and they are eager to share their story with you.
On the surface, School of Rock – The Musical looks like a fun, energetic, rock show with fantastic music that is sure to get your feet tapping. But as you watch and listen, you find a story of acceptance, encouragement, and helping others “find their voice.” Lives are forever changed when this mismatch of characters comes together and finds they have more in common than they originally realized. And isn’t that the beauty of life? The realization that we are not the only person experiencing heartache, pain, or disappointment; that those around us can (and I hope do) encourage us when we need it. It’s a story to which we can all relate.
My encouragers come in the form of my family. The hours are many and the days are long when living with a creative mind, and much of our lives revolves around my schedule. I appreciate the catered dinners, the collaborative efforts at home, and the simple practice of being present. You are the rock stars in my life.
Who are the rock stars in your life? Who are the people who lift your spirits when you are feeling down? Who are the people who encourage you to keep working toward your goals? Who do you encourage? Who do you inspire? For who are you a rock star?
Let's get ready to embrace our inner rock star and let the music ignite our spirits as LCCFPA proudly presents School of Rock - The Musical. Enjoy the show!
Mrs. Jessica Cruz

BEHIND THE SCENES
ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER has composed the scores of some of the world’s most famous musicals. From Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (1969) to Cinderella (2021), his work has been consistently seen on world stages. Before the COVID pandemic hit, Lloyd Webber had shows continually running in the West End for 48 years and on Broadway for 41. When Sunset Boulevard joined School Of Rock, CATS, and The Phantom Of the Opera, he equaled Rodgers & Hammerstein’s record of four shows running simultaneously on Broadway. He is one of the select group of artists with EGOT status, having received Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Awards.
Lloyd Webber owns seven London theatres, including the iconic London Palladium and Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. Over the past three years the latter has been completely restored and renovated at a cost of over £60 million. It is one of the biggest projects ever undertaken by a private theatre owner in recent times. His mantra that every penny of profit made from his theatres
is ploughed back into the buildings has meant that considerable work has been undertaken across his theatre portfolio during the pandemic, including the complete remodeling and reseating of the Gillian Lynne.
Lloyd Webber is passionate about the importance of musical education and diversity in the arts. The Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation provides 30 performing arts scholarships every year for talented students with financial need and supports a range of projects such as the Music In Secondary School Trust and commissioning research into diversity in theatre.
Andrew Lloyd Webber was knighted in 1992 and created an honorary life peer in 1997. To mark his 70th birthday, his bestselling autobiography Unmasked was published by Harper Collins in March 2018.
