We say Good-bye and a Hearty Roar to our Captain, District Governor Lion Isaac Solomon, MJF 2014-2015 District Governor Lion Isaac Solomon, MJF was presented to District 60B as “a true Lion, a man of action, very firm and fair and one who has a heart of a Lion”. Lions and Leos came to know this Lion, a very accessible and warm District Government who ruled with a firm hand. He made his mark by effecting the necessary changes, sometimes with a smile, which was infectious, so much that we couldn’t help but embrace the change(s). Although a very busy District Governor, Lion Isaac’s presence was still felt and through his dynamic leadership style, which empowered members, District 60B enjoyed a year of Excellence! He served us well and we say “Thanks” to District Governor Lion Isaac Solomon, MJF, for serving us for the Lionistic Year 2014/ 2015. District 60B wishes you and family the very best, as you continue “building a path to service excellence!!

Cheers to you District Governor Lion Isaac Solomon, MJF 2014/2015, you have expertly and successfully Docked the Ship!!

Farewell to a Year of Service Excellence Another year of service has come to an end, and for many of us, closing the curtains may evoke some amount of mixed emotions. Perhaps some of us will feel relieved after handing over our responsibilities to an incoming officer while others may feel some amount of sadness because we may have to leave behind a great movement or even transition to an even greater calling as a Lion. It was amazing to see the former Leos of St. Andrew Central rise to the occasion as they were recently inducted as new Lions. It not only shows the pride they have in service, but also that they were adequately groomed by their sponsoring Lions Club for them to make such an incredible move. It seems like only yesterday that I was invited to join the Leo Club of Clarendon in a small office on the grounds of the Jamalco Refinery Plant. Little did I know the extent to which my life would have changed once I signed on the dotted line to apply for membership. Being asked to become a Leo has certainly changed my life for better and many of us are a living testimony to that. In giving service to others this year, we were in fact changing our own lives as we discovered new skills and talents because we chose to step out of our comfort zone and discover our true passions. We saw first time presidents exceed expectations while others grew in numbers and quality as was the case with the Montego Bay Leos. Their leadership is a fine example of what to do when the going gets tough – DON’T GIVE UP. Leos, the curtains may close but the show must go on. So I challenge you all to continue making your Leo Club experience visible and accessible to others who may very well want to be a part of it for continuity and sustainability. For all the clubs that have been performing well despite the challenges, continue to be a beacon of hope for others, cruising onward to service excellence with Dignity, Harmony and Humanity. All the best for the new year ahead.

District Governor Lion Isaac’s Message “Cont’d” page 4) The support I received extended to the point where I was recognized for my community leadership for which I received US$1000.00 which I donated to the District. I wish to thank all of the District Chairs and their Associates for rising to the occasion and for the professional manner in which they executed their tasks. The level of communication, guidance and support they provided to the clubs in the past year was exceptional. They certainly 'upped the ante' in the level of accountability and passion they brought to bear on our programmes this year. I am proud of them! I am compelled to single out Lions Wendy La Barrie, IT Chair for coming to my rescue relatively late in the game and Janet Ferguson for raising the bar so high in Public Relations. My Cabinet may not have been the best team but we were a perfect team! We were all aligned with the programme of 'Service Excellence' which made it such a joy working with each of them, especially during the club visitations. I miss them already. My experience working with this team was nothing short of exhilarating and so I am moved to dedicate an adapted version of 'To Sir With Love' to show my deepest gratitude to each of them: “The time has come For closing books; and long last looks must end And as I leave,

I know that I am leaving some of my best friends Friends who taught me right from wrong, And weak from strong -- that's a lot to learn What -- what can I give you in return? If you wanted the moon, I would try to make a start... But I Would rather you let me give my heart To All of you, With Love" I could not have accomplished any of the things I set out to do had it not been for the hard work, commitment and professionalism of our Cabinet Secretary/Treasurer Lion Dionne John. I am eternally grateful for the excellent work done with Lion Wendy to chronicle the experience of Lions and Leos across the District and to allow my wife to extend her thanks and best wishes to the Lions and Leos across the District. Special thanks to my Advisors, PCCs Lions Malcolm, Eldridge and Shirley. These folks were just the click of a button or a phone call away. The support I received from them was best in class, a hallmark of excellence. To my own club, the Lions Club St Vincent South: You did a great job, made a lot of sacrifices, put up with me for three long years and my unending demands. Your support and performance beyond the call of duty was stellar. Thanks are also in order for the Lions and Leos in St Vincent and

the Grenadines, Zone 3C and Region 3 for their unwavering support from the very start. To all the Lions in the District who facilitated, served, attended meetings, facilitated my visits and who in any way have contributed to this special experience, thank you! As I leave, I pledge my full support to the incoming leadership team and I urge all of you to continue on the 'path to service excellence' by 'taking a stand' with DG Elect Lion Marvin, to 'make it right'. Thank you once again!" Regards, Yours in Lionism Lion Isaac Solomon MJF

Get Onboard: Building a Path to Service Excellence

 To Remember that in building up my business it is not necessary to tear down another's; to be loyal to my clients or customers and true to myself.  Whenever a doubt arises as to the right or ethics of my position or action towards others, to resolve such doubt against myself.  To Hold friendship as an end and not a means. To hold that true friendship exists not on account of the service performed by one another, but that true friendship demands nothing but accepts service in the spirit in which it is given.  Always to bear in mind my obligations as a citizen to my nation, my state, and my community, as to give them my unswerving loyalty in word, act, and deed. To give them freely of my time, labor and means.

District Governor’s Song 2014-15 All aboard, get on board (Repeat 4 Times) Lions get ready There's a train a-coming Don't need no baggage Just get on board All you need is faith To hear the diesels humming Don't need no ticket just thank the Lord

there a place For the hopeless sinner Who has hurt all mankind Just to save his own Have pity on those Whose chances are thinner There is no hiding place From the Kingdom's Throne

Chorus

Chorus

Leos get ready For the train to Jordan Picking up passengers From coast to coast Faith is the key To open the doors and board them There's room for all Among the loved the most

So people get ready For the train a-comin' You don't need no baggage You just get on board All you need is faith To hear the diesels humming Don't need no ticket You just thank, you just thank the Lord
