2020 INTERIORS
COLOUR PALETTES FOR YOUR HOME IN 2020 We take a look at the colour palettes that will be in every home this year.
BY CHARLOTTE-NICHOLE
2020 COLOURS With a new year comes a new wave of trends, fashion and inspiration to consider when looking to update and refresh your home. And most of us do like to keep our home up to date and on trend as possible.Of course this doesn’t mean repainting your whole house every year, but it can mean ditching some colours and incorporating a new palette using soft furnishings and final touches. But what is on trend for 2020? What will we be seeing across the ‘gram, in our favorite homes and in interior stores across the UK?
NEUTRAL CLAY Is the perfect warming colour to use in your home in 2020. With its versatility, it can be used in any space and combined with any colours you may already be keen to keep and use. What I love most about this colour is that it can be as feminine or masculine as desired. Pairing with rich blues or deep greys are perfect way to make it masculine. If you’re after a feminine touch, use light pinks and rich peach colours.
RICH BLUE Isn’t just a colour for a bathroom. Oh no. Rich, deep blues are perfect for a home that’s been lacking a little colour thanks to the Grey trend. Much like all the other colours, in can easily be incorporated into your current colour scheme, and feature as a standalone wall, or a overhaul of the dominant shade.Really consider the size of your space and the light it receives when looking to use this colour though. Only certain rooms will be able to carry it throughout.
DEEP PLUM Is a new, rich colour to incorporate into a home in 2020. It’s especially versatile and can be used in any space – although the dark, rich tone, make it a perfect colour for a snug lounge or bedroom.Again, it’s a easy colour to combine with already purchased shades like grey. If wanting to create a whole new colour palette, consider pairing with soft pinks for a edgy, modern tone.
SOFT PASTEL NATURAL TONES 2020 is the year that soft pastel tones are back on trend. Following a long spell of dark rich tones, a bright natural palette may just be the change you are looking for. But don’t panic if you have heavy rich paints in your home, using this palette in your soft furnishings can lift the space into the 2020 trend.
The soft greens are a perfect shade to contrast previously dark palettes and will often create a more polished but defined look. One thing I have noted is mixing and combining similar shades in one space can really add some depth and something we will see a lot in 2020. Having multiple, similar shades, used to feel clustered and jumbled, if correctly executed and combined well, it can really change the dynamic of your home.

CREATE THE PERFECT HOME OFFICE FOR WORKING AT HOME IN 2020
Make 2020 the year that you ace your working from home game, with a little help from the space you do it from.

UTILIZING YOUR SPARE ROOM Of course, if you have the space, or a spare room without much purpose, creating a home office within it is the ticket. Whether you dedicate the whole room, or just a corner, a separate room to nestle down and work in certainly takes you away from other distractions like a telly or even cooking.
SNEAK IT BEHIND THE COUCH If you're not lucky enough to have a spare room lying about your home, don't panic, you can still incorporate a nifty workspace in the rooms you do have. With space saving furniture available from some of the high street brands, it's never been easier to shoehorn a small, delicate desk to work from into your lounge even if you don't think you have the space. Slimline ladder desks are a great idea when wanting to create a office nook, but low on space for a huge expanding desk. It also handily offers shelving and storage too.
SQUEEZE IT IN THE HALL Whilst some homes are lucky to even have a hallway, sometimes they can be a great nook to place a desk and the shared computer. Whilst an expansive desk, numerous filing cabinets and endless storage is desired, it's not needed and a hallway ladder desk might be the best option for your home.Â
It's always a good idea to have a work space out of the way from distraction, and if you feel the dining table or a corner in your lounge won't offer the peace and quiet you need, this might be your best option.

DIY Panelling for just £15! BY CHYNNA
We all know how much we at Letterbox loveeee panelling, and so does everyone else. It's the easy DIY that is bucking the trend, and adding character into homes up and down the country. And why not, it's inexpensive and can trasnform a bland box room to one with interest.
We decided to have slightly larger end panels to allow for our wall lights, while still remaining symmetrical.
We then filled any nail holes of imperfections with wood filler and once dry we sanded lightly.
Then the fun bit, we primed just the wood -don’t So, one of our own contributors shares how she

CREATING A STYLISH NEUTRAL NURSERY More and more parents are opting neutral when it comes to decorating their Nursery. Whether it's due to not finding out the gender before birth or because neutral, subtle tones and colours are growing popular, it's never been trendier to have a more subtle, neutral and some times grown up space.
So when creating the perfect nursery, you really want to create a space that will be long lasting in style, and not at risk of having to be re-decorated when you have a toddler on your hands wanting a more child like space!
But what's the best advice when creating a serine, yet practical neutral nursery? Hang tight, we have the only
you really want to lower the risk of having to re-do it - especially when it comes to a baby room. Having a space that can grow with your baby is especially important.
Are our fav and that's because they can be used in any space, with any other shades. Going nude also make it mega easy to incorporate those gender dominant colours too like Blue and Pink - if wanted to at a later date.

with more feminine tones if done correctly. It's well worth considering Navy in your neutral nursery base shade.
White If in doubt, or nervous, stick with white and add colour through the textures and accessories in the room.
Choose a theme A theme is a great way to incorporate colour and style under one roof. Our favourite is safari. It offers a fairly neutral palette and lots of oppertunity to include child friendly styling ( safari cuddly toys . animal prints, geo prints ). Plus, its a great theme to add colour too.
Styling The Space As with any room in a home, styling takes time and consideration, and can transform a space into one with character and purpose. The same goes for a nursery too. If you've choosen a theme, consider this when styling the space with soft finishes, patterns and accessories. Using the likes of pinterest to find prints to frame, and stores like Next to find accessories that wouldn't feature in a baby section. ( Just because it's not in the baby section, doesn't mean it can't be in the room ).
If you're sticking to colour rather than theme, stick to your defined palette, mixing and matching with print and pattern to create further interest.
