THE SCHOOL CURRICULUM

The academic aim of the school is to ensure that each student progressing through the school attains his or her highest level of achievement and potential. This is achieved through disciplined hard work and effort together with the support of an excellent teaching staff, to whom each student has access at every stage of his or her academic life. Students at The Rochas Foundation Japanese School of English are taught the National Curriculum of England. The curriculum, assessment and record keeping are strictly monitored throughout each student’s academic life with us, from KG through GCSE and A/AS levels. Senior teaching staff regularly review The National Curriculum for England, together with public examinations criteria, to ensure that what we teach in The Rochas Foundation Japanese School of English meets the developing needs of all students in this increasingly technological world. Programmes of Study determine what our students should be taught in each subject at each Key Stage, providing opportunities for planning and schemes of work within the context of a committed and well-qualified UK teaching staff.

学校の哲学

SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY The philosophy of The Rochas Foundation Japanese School of English The philosophy of The Rochas Foundation Japanese School of English is based upon the sound principles of: • Discipline • Continuous development and • High academic standards. These principles underpin the school’s determination and tradition of “Excellence in Education since 1968”. A traditional and sound school such as the school maintains high standards and high expectations of its staff and student body. We respect discipline, courtesy and do not lower these standards to court popularity. We insist, being parents ourselves, that our students work hard, behave well and are a credit to the school and their parents. We accept no less than this. The school is organised according to traditional English school practice, emphasising high academic standards, good student attitudes and firm discipline, together with a clear understanding of the particular needs of each student. The underlying philosophy is that, irrespective of race, colour or language, it is the right of every child to be educated. The Rochas Foundation Japanese School of English recognises the need for all students to be made aware of the demands placed upon them for Further Education and the world of work. Students must be taught how to apply their existing skills and knowledge to new situations; they also need to be taught the value of different learning strategies.
