With over 32 core islands and global influences from the four corners of the world Caribbean Cuisine is a true fusion collection. Windies Cove takes pride in producing quality meals using the fresh herbs, spices with many ingredients sourced from fair trade sustainable sources and suppliers. Our basement feature bar presents a range of over 32 rums from around the world offering you white, golden, dark and aged rums each with unique character.

At busy times service may take a little longer but we will aim to communicate with you accordingly. We appreciate your understanding at this time. For larger parties we encourage you to place orders in advance where possible to ensure smoother service.
Allergies
With the exception of coconut we do not use nuts in any of dishes. We exclude the use of wheat flour in general sauces and seasoning but if you are sensitive let a member of the team know to ensure that chef can prepare something appropriate. If you have any special dietary requirements try to let us know in advance

What is ..... Ackee – a red skinned pear shaped fruit originally from Africa but now grown widely in the West Indies. Soft, fleshy and yellow in colour this ingredient is generally served with salt fish making up the national dish of Jamaica. Calalloo – A large green leafy vegetable which is the cousin of spinach. High in iron generally served on the side or basis for soup Chocho – also known as the chayote or christophine this vegetable is part of the squash family and related to the cucumber Dumpling – a dough based accompaniment to any dish which is either fried or boiled Escovitch – Fish that is accompanied with pickled vegetables & seasoning Jerk – jerking was the process used before refrigeration to preserve meats on log journeys. Now it refers to the fiery spice marinade used to season meat before cooking resulting in fiery flavours that tickle the taste buds. Okra – also known as ladies fingers, good source of vitamin c, magnesium, potassium and magnesium Pattie – A Jamaican national pastry snack similar to the Cornish Pasty but filled with spicy meat, fish or vegetables

Plantain – cousin of the banana, either fried or boiled – a sweet accompaniment to any dish for breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks. Scotch Bonnet Pepper – one of the hottest peppers in the world. Generally used in cooking but also available on the side Sorrel – is high in vitamin C, calcium, niacin, riboflavin and flavanoids to enhance the immune system and protects against heart disease. Yam – a root vegetable popular particularly the Caribbean. Yams have brown tough skins and the flesh can vary in colour - anything from white to yellow to purple - depending on the variety.
