Filter has its origins in New Mexico with an optician named Joe Schaumberg. He is the child of German immigrants. Though, Joe has degrees in education and laser optics he could not stray from his family origins and business. Joe Schaumberg soon took over the family business of an optical shop, but wanted to update the way business was conducted. Growing up in the green northern mountains of New Mexico instilled Joe with a deep respect for nature. Joe knew that there was a way to incorporate environmental awareness but that it did not have to come at the cost of style. Joe’s new motto was green meets haute couture. This was the birth of Filter. Filter is the premiere destination for people that want high fashion but not at the cost to the environment.

Bringing F I L T E R to The World •Since we are a environmentally conscious company we have an eyeglass recycling program, in which customers would receive a credit towards a new pair of glasses as long as they partake in the recycling program. •FILTER would promote the company and global consciousness with a program in which at the end of purchase, if the customer wishes, they can donate towards the purchase of eye glasses to people without access and in need of eyewear. If the customer does not, it does not matter because FILTER will still donate services to those in need. •Just as it is FILTER’s mission to be an environmentally friendly company, it is also our mission to be at the forefront of style and foster new designers and artists. FILTER will promote one new artist every quarter for their eyewear design. A designer will be selected each quarter and featured in our stores, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts. •Our promotions will include vehicle wraps, outdoor ads, commercial spots and magazine ads to reach our audience.
