Thanksgiving Day ofPrayer

The Day of Prayer was instituted at Libertyin 1985, whenVernonBrewerwas diagnosedwithcancer Duringthattime, the campus gathered in prayer forhis healing.Since then, it has becomea wellknowntraditionfor the LU students,staff, facultyand administration to gatherand pray.

"It is importantthat we band together as studentsandset thattimeasideto seek theLord,"DwayneCarson,assistantcampuspastor, said.

It is also atimefor students to worship the Lordandmaketheirpetitionsknown "Prayeris a basicpartof Christianlife," Carsonsaid "Toomany times,we takeit forgranted that we can come before the Maker of the universe."

On November 24 and 25, thestudent body assembled throughoutthe day and nightat the prayerchapelto prayfor such things as God's direction in their lives, their families, their churches, Dr Falwell andhis ministries,U.S leaders,revival in America and worldevangelization.
