Holiday Gift Making WORKSHOPS & CLASSES

GIVE A CREATIVE GIFT THIS HOLIDAY SEASON or add a personal element to your holiday decorations by making gifts and accessories in in one of our special workshops or classes. Workshops and classes are also a great time to be with friends and share the experience of blowing glass ornaments, making a felted stocking, or printing your own holiday paper goods.

HOLIDAY MUGS

In this workshop students will be able to create a one of kind ceramic mug great for the cold winter months. Using terra cotta slabs of clay students will build the cup form and add handles. After the basic mug form is created, the possibilities for decoration are endless. We can add names to personalize the mugs, draw winter themed images or just paint the mugs in different colors. Add a packet of cocoa and these mugs will make the perfect gift.

The holiday season is coming and we’re making beads to celebrate! Working on a Hot Head torch, learn to make a Christmas tree, snowman, stocking, a candy treat or Santa.

Samples will be on hand for inspiration. Basic sculptural techniques will be covered.

Materials fee includes all glass and tools. All levels welcome.

PRINT AND DYE TEA TOWELS WORKSHOP ( 1 DAY ) Spend your morning creating a set of tea towels for your holiday guests! We will do a quick dye from our assortment of MX dyes, and then screenprint with ink onto your towels with stock images and patterns. A set of 4 tea towels provided in the workshop. Dress for mess!

FELTED ORNAMENTS AND STOCKINGS WORKSHOP

BLOWN GLASS ORNAMENT WORKSHOP

Make your own ornaments for this holiday season in this one-day wet felting workshop. Explore the possibilities of wet felting techniques and create oneof-kind ornaments such as color beads and miniature socks. Everyone will walk away with several pieces to use as gifts and home decorations. Students can choose to apply small sculpture with the same techniques and materials in the future. All materials are provided. We provide some wool roving, but colors are limited. You may purchase color wool roving before the workshop. Children must be accompanied by adult. Ages 10+.

Priced per person.

A holiday favorite! In this workshop, students will have the opportunity to blow glass on a torch. Pre-made glass “points” and colored glass turn into beautiful, round holiday ball ornaments. Each student can make approximately five ornaments, each finished with a metal hook. Everything is finished and ready to bring home at the end of the class. All materials included.

( 3 WEEKS ) No matter what holiday you celebrate, everyone could stand to have gifts stashed away for special friends and loved ones. In this fast paced class, students will be in production mode cranking out gifts such as tea towels, t-shirts, bags or other goodies from our well-stocked sales locker. Great for returning students looking for a fun atmosphere during class and access to weekly open studio.

Come prepared with images to burn as well as inks/dyes and fabrics to print on.

Prerequisite: First-Time Screenprinting on Paper or Fabric Thursday 6:30-9:30pm

FAMILY WORKSHOP: SEW YOUR OWN STOCKINGS

Nora Renick-Rinehart Starts December 5

Just in time for the Holidays and the New Year, come to Lillstreet and print up some greeting cards. This class will use Screen Printing techniques to create a set of unique and individual cards and matching envelopes. Using hand drawn or digitally produced imagery, we will investigate pattern, image, and text to create one of a kind gifts. This class is accessible to both first time printers and those with some experience. Students will also be offered open studio time to explore the process on their own.

Material fee covers ink and a set of cards and envelopes.

Choosing from a special selection of materials, kids and parents alike will design and create unique holiday ornaments. A pattern template will be provided, as well as all materials including felt and accessories. Instruction will include basic sewing and easy applique. Children must be accompanied by adult. Ages 6+.

In this workshop, families will learn to make beautiful holiday mugs together. Explore coil and slab building techniques and learn to use glazes and slips to decorate your functional objects. Learn a variety of ways to personalize your holiday mug with hand-built attachments.
