Giac Lam Pagoda is the oldest Buddhist temple in Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Son Can and Cam Dem. The pagoda was built by Mr. Ly Thuy Long, a native of Minh Huong community (Ming dynasty immigrants), in 1744 and has undergone a number of restorations. Giac Lam offers an opportunity to explore a typical old Southern pagoda with architecture and art of excellence as well as a collection of almost-intact antiquities. The ancient statues in the main hall date back to the 17th-18th centuries, while the system of delicately, vividly carved relief wooden panels, horizontal lacquered boards and parallels express the hope for peace and the motto of a happy life. The expression is achieved through the use of familiar images and rich symbols of Southern culture such as: ochna, orchid, daisy, bamboo, gourd, squash, custard apple, dragon, unicorn, squirrel, etc. In addition, another signature feature of Giac Lam Pagoda lies in the garden space where the Stupa and the centuries-old towers worshiping the pagoda’s monks and ancestors stay hidden under the verdant trees.

The memorial is a place of worship and memories of Phan Chau Trinh, courtesy name Tu Can, pen name Tay Ho, by the name of Hy Ma, who was born in 1872. In his days, he was an active poet and nationalist who led the early 20th century Modernisation movement in Vietnam. Phan Chau Trinh is an inspiring example of patriotism and exceptional talent that one will desire to learn more about, the way one does about Vietnam - the land and the people.

Part of the battlefield in the old Phu Tho explosives warehouse is now Tan Phuoc Park. Images of witnesses, documents, artefacts and compasses related to the battle are displayed in the gallery added to the monument.

Tan Ky Shrine and Ong Bon Shrine are a cluster of two small temples worshiping Thanh Hoang Bon Canh (Communal Temple Deity) in Vietnamese belief, or the Deity Bon in Chinese belief, at the former site of Tan Ky hamlet, Tan Son Nhi village. With more than 140 years of age, both temples are of symbolic value of arts and architecture designed with the Chinese character for "One", wooden trusses, wooden windows with “upper airy and lower opaque” style, yin-yang roofs, horizontal lacquered boards, tureens, parallel sentences, shrines/ altars among others. These artworks, decorated with red/black paint and golden leafs, demonstrate the skillful and refined carving skills of the predecessors. If you want to explore an art and architecture building with true identity and religious values of the VietnameseChinese community, this is a destination you can not afford to miss.

Pho Quang Pagoda was set up in 1951 by the Venerable Nguyen Viet Tao, Dharma name Thanh Nha. The pagoda is well-known and frequented by numerous Saigon people on holidays. As a whole, the pagoda encompasses 3 storeys and 12 roofs, accompanied by a mini 2-storey tower at the back. The path to the main hall is led by 2 rows of stone stairs engraved with vivid and intricate patterns. The Pho Quang pagoda’s main hall was built in the same architecture typical of Northern Buddhist temples. Accordingly, despite the multi-storey temple roof, it follows the style of a curved head pointing to the sky, covered with traditional flake tiles.

Pothiwong Pagoda is one of the handful temples of the Southern Buddhism, Khmer sect in Ho Chi Minh City. The temple had been known by its initial name of Onteskosey until it was renamed Pothiwong in 1993. Constructed in the early twentieth century, Pothiwong Pagoda exudes the inimitable architectural air of Southern Khmer pagodas. The embossed reliefs are used as decorations on the outer wall of the main hall depicting beautiful images of fairies and the holy bird Krud holding up the temple roof, all of which are taken from the folklore culture of the Khmer. All the walls, ceilings, roofs, columns, trusses, and doors are sculpted and decorated by Khmer artisans with images inspired primarily by the life of Buddha and in Khmer community life which resulted in a distinguishing characteristic of the temple. Annual Chol Chnam Thmay New Year Festival takes place at the pagoda and lasts for three days from April 14th to 16th, which draws huge attention from visitors and numerous attendance.

Notably, in the precinct of the pagoda lies the tomb of the patriot martyr, Quach Thi Trang. She was a Buddhist who was killed in 1963 in her protest against religious inequalities. What is more, finely-done and highly visual Buddhist works such as paintings, Buddha statues can be found in the gallery located within the pagoda ground. 21 TÂN BÌNH
