countries such as Cambodia, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and all regions of Vietnam. The ribbon cutting ceremony organized by Ho Chi Minh Department of Tourism in a warm atmosphere reflected the cohesion among the countries participating in the event. Besides that, the careful preparation and security guarantees during this event show the respect and hospitality of the ITE HCMC Organizing Committee to international guests. ITE HCMC 2017 is full of interesting activities and useful tourist information, which make opportunities for sustainable and solid cooperation in the future. Therefore, tourism industry in Vietnam in general and in Ho Chi Minh City in particular is promoted. Visitors are all welcomed on September 9th, 2017 in SECC. On this day, there are many quality tours at attractive prices together with promotion programs and unique gifts. JOINT STATEMENT RD OF THE 3 MEETING OF ACMECS TOURISM MINISTERS

On September 7th, 2017 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam 1. The 3rd Meeting of Tourism Ministers of the Countries under Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (hereinafter referred to as ACMECS) including Cambodia, Laos PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam was held on September 7th, 2017 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The meeting was chaired by H.E. Nguyen Ngoc Thien, Minister for Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. 2. The meeting was convened to discuss the implementation of the Hanoi Declaration of the 7th ACMECS Summit in Hanoi, Vietnam on October 26th, 2016 and the Plan of Action on ACMECS Tourism Cooperation in the period of 2016-2018 adopted by the ACMECS Tourism Ministers on July 29th, 2015 in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar,
which emphasizes promoting joint tourism marketing activities, various form of tourism products and responsible tourism. 3. The Ministers noted with satisfaction that in 2016, the number of international tourist arrivals in ACMECS countries has increased to 54.75 million, an increase of 5.29% compared to that of 2015; the number of intra-regional tourists was 8.95 million, accounting for 16.35% of the total number of international tourists, an annual increase of 5.04% compared to that of 2015. 4. The Ministers appreciated the joint tourism promotion and marketing activities, including (1) the participation in international tourism events, travel fairs and exhibitions such as International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC), Thailand Travel Mart Plus (TTM+), Vietnam International Travel Mart (VITM) and the support given to Cambodia Travel
Mart (CTM) to be held for the first time in Siem Riep, Cambodia from 17th to 19th of November in 2017; (2) the support given by each country to the others for the roadshows organized in the region to promote intra-region travel; (3) the organization of familiarization trips with travel agencies, investors and media agencies from long haul markets to study tourism products in Cambodia, Laos PDR, Vietnamand Thailand; (4) the promotional materials developed by Thailand to promote routes and tourism products among ACMECS countries; (5) the joint press conferences organized by Thailand to join hand in promoting tourism connectivity in the region to international media and travel agencies in International Tourismus Borse (ITB) (March 2017), Thailand Travel Mart Plus (TTM+) (June 2016 and June 2017); and (6) the ASEAN Friendship Caravan for about 100

participants lead by Thailand traveling through Cambodia, Laos PDR, Thailand and Vietnam in January, 2016. 5. The Ministers emphasized the significance of the tourism product linkages being promoted by ACMECS countries, particularly priority thematic multi-country tour programs, including (1) Southern Coastal Corridor (Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam), (2) Northern Heritage Trail (Laos PDR, Thailand, and Vietnam), (3) Mekong Discovery Trail (Cambodia, Laos PDR, Thailand and Vietnam), (4) Cruising the Mekong Delta, (5) The Middle Path (Myanmar and Thailand), (6) Golden Triangle Mekong River Cruising (Laos PDR and Thailand), (7) Route 8 (Laos PDR, Thailand, and Vietnam), and (9) East–West Corridor (Laos PDR, Thailand, and Vietnam). Many activities have been held to develop the specific tour programs, including the 1st East-West Corridor Tourism Cooperation Meeting (November 2015), the Meetings of the Southern Tourism Corridor Cooperation (STC) with technical tours in all the provinces of Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam along the Corridor, resulting in six specific thematic routes to be promoted. 6. The Ministers appreciated Vietnam for hosting the Open ACMECS Ministerial Forum on Responsible Tourism held on September 8th, 2016 in Ho Chi Minh City with the important outcome of the ACMECS Ministerial Declaration on Responsible
Tourism. The Ministers also highlighted the significance of the Global Tourism Summit in Thailand in April 2017 as one of the most significant world tourism events in ACMECS and ASEAN, raising the image of our ACMECS area in the world tourism map. 7. The Ministers discussed the directions to continue the implementation of the Plan of Action on ACMECS Tourism Cooperation 2016 – 2018 with further focus on connecting routes/corridors, marketing activities and promoting sustainable tourism; and emphasized that ACMECS tourism cooperation should be more action oriented, and active support among ACMECS countries given to major international forums and events in the region, particularly Cambodia Travel Mart 2017, Visit Laos Year 2018, ATF Thailand 2018, ATF Vietnam 2019 are of necessity. 8. The Ministers appreciated the effort of Cambodia to design and introduce the logo of ACMECS tourism which have been used in the recent events and tasked the senior officials to consider further options recommended by Thailand to submit the best design to the Ministers for approval. The Ministers emphasized that ACMECS tourism cooperation should support the orientation of promoting “Five Countries – One Destinations”, which connects all the key priority attractions recommended by each country; brands the unique characteristics of the ACMECS region linked with the three
rivers of Ayeyawady, Chao Phraya and Mekong; gets the private sector more deeply involved in the ACMECS cooperation through appropriate mechanisms of public-private partnerships; and pays greater attention to new internet-based applications for information exchange and promotion and marketing activities. 9. The Ministers considered thoroughly the ways to meet the requirement given by the ACMECS Leaders at the 7th ACMECS Summit and agreed that it is necessary to streamline ACMECS operational structure and strengthen the synergy between ACMECS, CLMV and GMS mechanism, according to which ACMECS is the broad framework to discuss related issues at all the levels with the combination of the outputs from the other mechanisms. 10. The Ministers expressed their appreciation to Vietnam for the warm hospitality and excellent arrangement as the host of the 3rd Meeting of ACMECS Tourism Ministers. 11. The Ministers welcomed the Kingdom of Thailand’s readiness to host the 4th Meeting of ACMECS Tourism Ministers in 2019 to follow the 8th ACMECS Summit in Thailand in 2018, and provide a venue and facilitation for the 5th Meeting of CLMV Tourism Ministers.

JOINT STATEMENT OF THE 4th MEETING OF CLMV TOURISM MINISTERS
On September 7th, 2017 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
1. The 4th Meeting of Tourism Ministers of the countries including Cambodia, Laos PDR, Myanmar and Vietnam (hereinafter referred to as CLMV) was held on September 7th, 2017 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The meeting was chaired by H.E. Nguyen Ngoc Thien, Minister for Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. 2. The meeting was convened to discuss the implementation of the Joint Declaration of the 8th CLMV Cooperation Summit in Hanoi, Vietnam on October 26 th, 2016 and the Action Program on CLMV Tourism Cooperation in the period of 2016-2018 adopted by the CLMV Tourism Ministers on July 29th, 2015 in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, which emphasizes travel facilitation, tourism capacity building, involvement of private sector and local communities, tourism product development and tourism safety. 3. The Ministers noted that in 2016, the number of international tourist arrivals in CLMV countries was 22.16 million, the number of intra-regional tourists was 2.79 million, accounting for 12.59% of the total number of international tourists, and commented that all the CLMV region has a lot of capacity to improve the performance. 4. The Ministers highlighted that intraregional travel has been more facilitative when visa procedures have been increasingly simplified, more direct flights connecting regional destinations have been opened, and travel by land among regional destinations has become more convenient. 5. The Ministers noted that CLMV countries have actively supported each other in implementing the Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals (MRA-TP) to facilitate ASEAN integration, participating in training courses, seminars and workshops supported by ASEAN-China Center (ACC), ASEAN-Japan Center, ASEANKorea Center (AKC), German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) and other related partners. 6. The Ministers appreciated that CLMV tourism has got the private partners deeply
and efficiently involved in regional tourism development, emphasizing the significance of the International Forum on “Four Countries - One Destination: Connecting Tourism and Expanding Cooperation in Banking Sector” among Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam, which was held in Yangon, Myanmar in July 2016 and organized by Ministry of Hotels and Tourism of Myanmar in collaboration with the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV). 7. The Ministers noted with satisfaction that development partners have provided significant support to CLMV tourism, including Asian Development Bank (ADB) with the ongoing GMS Infrastructure for Inclusive Growth project in Cambodia, Lao PDR and Vietnam building on the successful experience of previous sub-regional tourism projects; German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) with support to Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI) for CLMV countries with various projects of tourism promotion and capacity building; ASEAN-Japan Centre (AJC) with support of organizing Mekong Tourism Award for CLMV countries, including five awards for each category of tour products, travel agents, land operators and airlines; ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC) with Ecotourism Capacity Building Workshop for CLMV to balance tourism development and environmental sustainability. The Ministers satisfied that various programs on sustainable and inclusive tourism development have been implemented in the CLMV region. 8. The Ministers appreciated the tourism marketing activities by CLMV to promote intra-regional travel as well as travel from third markets, particularly through roadshows
and travel marts. The Ministers also stressed the importance of effort by CLMV to promote East-West Corridor, Northeastern Corridor, Southern Coastal Corridor and Southern Corridor as joint tourism products. The Ministers appreciated the CLMV tourism logo designed by Cambodia and encourage the CLMV countries to use the logo to convey the common image of the region. 9. The Ministers discussed the orientation for further promoting the implementation of the Action Program on CLMV Tourism Cooperation 2016 – 2018; stressed that CLMV tourism cooperation should be more outcome and action oriented; and agreed that it is necessary to reform and enhance its coordination with other relevant subregional cooperation frameworks such as ACMECS and GMS to meet the requirement given by the CLMV Leaders at the 8th CLMV Summit. 10. The Ministers expressed their appreciation to Vietnam for the warm hospitality and excellent arrangement as the host of the 4th Meeting of CLMV Tourism Ministers. 11. The Ministers agreed to seek the support of Thailand in providing a venue and facilitation to the 5th Meeting of CLMV Tourism Ministers, organized back-to-back with the 4th Meeting of ACMECS Tourism Ministers in Thailand in 2019. The Ministers appreciated Cambodia’s offer to prepare the documents and play the role as a chairman of the forthcoming meeting.

Full of attractive events for consumers at ITE HCMC 2017
The purpose is to create a interactive field between the travel companies and the tourists, to attract the participation of city tourists to the International Travel Expo HCMC, to increase the demand for travel. From September 07th to September 09th 2017, Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center SECC will organize many exciting activities. At 10:30 and 16:30 in the three days from September 7 to September 9, 2017, at the sub-stage of the international tourism exhibition will perform traditional art to create a lively atmosphere. The show will have many famous singers and actors to
visit, perform and take photos at the event. During the three days of the international tourism exhibition, visitors selfie to ‘checkin’ at the HCMC Travel booth will receive a souvenir from the Organising Committee. Photos taken at the event will be sent to the Organising Committee to post on the social media page on the Public Day. Then, the
Organising Committee will award the images that receive the most like and share (Rewards are free/discounted travel coupons, hotel or restaurant coupons, airline tickets ...) Especially, on September 9th, at the substage, there was also a lucky draw program. Visitors who come to the HCMC Travel Booth to register for the “Winning Lottery in Public Day of ITE HCMC 2017” will be provided with a bar code. Visitors will be instructed to use their smartphone to scan the bar code at the entrance, in the area around the stage to store the phone number in the system. When the prize draw program begins, the Organising Committee will invite the public representative to press the button on the laptop keyboard, the screen is connected to the projector and the wide screen on the stage. The audience will see the sequence of numbers running, and the program will randomly select the number to find the winner. Awards are products sponsored by tourism businesses (free/discounted travel coupons, hotel or restaurant coupons, airline tickets...).

The new tourism of Wonderful Indonesia 2017 The government this year through Tourism Minister, Arief Yahya, focuses on 10 regional tourism destinations as ‘The New Bali’ for both domestic and international markets. Each attraction is selected for its uniqueness - Lake Toba, The Thousand Islands, Tanjung Kelayang, Tanjung Lesung, Borobudur, Mount Bromo, Mandalika Lombok, Komodo Island, Wakatobi National Park and Morotai. The main concepts for travelling to Indonesia this year are ‘Go Digital’, ‘Air Connectivity’, and ‘Tourist Homestay.’ Mrs Rizki Handayani, Director of Promotion for Southeast Asia said, “Airports are developed for easier access as international hubs, whilst airlines and travel agents have been instructed to offer an increased number of tour packages.” Local government supports to specially build and develop for tourist homestays and aims to increase growth of village destinations. More importantly, 2017 is the year to target the increase in international arrivals from the whole markets.

TATHCM promotes Bangkok and Beyond for Vietnamese tourists Tourism Authority of Thailand, Ho Chi Minh Office (TATHCM) aims to promote Bangkok and Beyond as travel destinations this year at ITE HCMC 2017 for Bangkok - Hua Hin, Bangkok - Khao Yai, Bangkok - Ratchaburi and Bangkok - Samut Songkram etc. According to the statics, the number of tourist arrival increased at least 5% every year. Mrs Napasorn Kakai, Director of TATHCM said, “we have specific information spread out on online tools such as website, Facebook, Youtube, Instagram and e-book guide that will provide more detailed information about each travel destinations.” Tourists should expect Thailand as a country that welcomes everyone all over world. However, during the cremation period of King Rama 9, 25-27 October 2017, it is advised not to visit specific places in Bangkok
such as Grand Palace, Wat Prakeo, Wat Pho, Vimanmek Mansion, Ananta Samakhom, Nitas Rattanakosin (Rattanakosin Island) etc. There will be some roads closed and heavy traffic jam in these areas.
Taiwan Tourism Bureau simplifies VISA procedure to support tourism This year, the tourism in Taiwan centers on one of the important lifestyle aspects for tourists – shopping. The number of Vietnamese tourists are 218,352, an increase of 100% compared to 2016. Apart from an annual campaign for prevalent discounts, tourists around the globe stand a great opportunity to receive travelling funds in the country with the value of NT$100,000. Taiwan, the Taiwanese travel programme which brings in brand-new content this year inviting all tourists to participate in the casting of its season to take part in a leading role. At ITE HCMC 2017, Taiwanese celebrities will share their experiences of the filming of the programme, a few names to mention are Song Luan, Truong My Nhan, Ong Cao Thang, and Dong Nhi. Visitors of the booth will get to experience live performances the Performing Arts and Sideshow by FOCA. Other interesting activities include famous
Taiwanese food tasting - rice noodles with spicy anchovy and aiyu jelly ice, Balloons by Happy Balloon Man, and folklore toys making - bamboo bugle and spool car. Taiwan Tourism Bureau will continue to host promotional events. Delegation this year are 85 representatives from 45 industries; city government, tourism associations, tour operators, hotel suppliers and souvenir shops etc. They will update latest travel information for Vietnamese travel agents as well as tourists.

Seminar on Keys to attract Chinese tourists to Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Bao
Within the framework of ITE HCMC 2017, on September 7th 2017, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism in coordination with Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism held a seminar on Keys to attract Chinese tourists to Ho Chi Minh City. The seminar aimed to orient and share keys to attract Chinese tourists to Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City. The seminar had the presence of more than 100 delegates from representatives of departments and functional units under
Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism (HCMC DOT); Vietnam Tourism Association (VITA), Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association (HTA); Representatives of Vietnam Airlines, airlines operating flights China - Vietnam; Vietnamese tourism enterprises and media agencies. It can be said that the seminar would be a great opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to have a clearly overview about Chinese outbound travel market to Vietnam.
At the seminar, the presenters from ASEAN - China Centre (ACC) and representatives of tour operators in Ho Chi Minh City shared about detailed information about Chinese outbound tourists as well as discuss about keys to attract Chinese tourists to Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particularly. The seminar also contributed to the diversification of activities within the framework of the ITE HCMC 2017 and enhance the stature of the Fair.
