BEECHINOR LAND AND LIVESTOCK SALE BARN BENTLEY, AB

Welcome to the inaugural edition of Shades of Fall. We are finally putting into action an idea we have had for a while, to allow convenience to people traveling a distance to be able to attend 3 sales over 3 days while the weather is typically more enjoyable (although some precipitation in Western Canada might be welcomed). We see many advantages to an early sale including getting females shipped to their new homes and settled into a new environment well before calving.

I would like to thank everyone at Red Top, Applecross and Century for joining us in this venture. They are all programs we have many years of friendship, working relationships and great respect for. Everyone has slightly different cattle, but ultimately similar breeding goals. We have all the ‘shades’ of Simmentals represented in the sale, Fleckvieh Fullbloods, Reds and a Black. These females show the great diversity of the breed that makes it so popular and can essentially be tailored to every facet of the cattle industry. The quality runs deep in this sale collection and there is something here for everyone.

I don’t think it’s a stretch to say there has never been a more exciting time to be in the cattle business during my lifetime. Record prices have been seen over the past year, with Simmental cattle being in high demand. As more positivity begins to build and feed prices come down, hopefully the cow herd can also begin to grow. We hope females like these offered for sale can be the backbone of your program for many years.

Everyone is invited to tour the farms prior to the sale weekend. The females will be available for viewing Friday and Saturday at Beechinor Land & Livestock. We hope you can join us on Oct. 12th and be sure to take in The Evolution at Blackgold on the evening of the 10th , Pasture Treasures at Anchor D on the evening of the Oct 11th .

If you have questions about the offering please feel free to contact any of the consigners or any of the sales staff at Transcon Livestock.

All of us at Transcon would like to welcome you to the 1st Annual Shades of Fall Female Sale. What an exciting time to be in the cattle industry. It’s an exciting time to be in the Simmental seedstock business. Calf prices continue to hover around all time highs and don’t appear to be showing signs of slowing down, meaning, breeders will be searching to source powerful genetics for their programs that can offer superior genetics to their customers. This sale is the ticket.

Shades of Fall may not be high in numbers, but is extremely high in quality. When I toured through all four contributor’s bred heifer pens nothing was off limits or held back. Every one of these consignors have offered up their very best and quality runs very deep in the offering. Generations deep. Along side these great live lots, Beechinor Land and Livestock have offered up a flush with endless potential on a very elite cow in my opinion, the great BEE Couture 663D.

Beechinor Land and Livestock are offering direct daughters of Rumble, Sugar Ray, Creed, Viper, Alpha and Electric Avenue. Where are you going to find powerful pedigree combinations to add to your breeding program? Not to mention, an Electric Avenue semen lot has been added to the sale. Unbelieveable!

Red Top Livestock have been working hard at building a strong program. Take a look at the Alpha daughters. Broody, deep ribbed heifers that have mamma cow written all over them. Not to mention Ben has offered some real nice KWA Roosevelt daughters too.

Applecross Cattle have saved their best for this sale. Check out the footnote on Rachel, Lot 25. She was slated for the World Sale, but they saved her for here. Plus the 5 that follow behind her are top notch. Nothing held back.

Century Simmentals is all in. Jesse and Kirsten have been concentrating on building their breeding program. This year’s bred heifer offering includes daughters of Electric Avenue, Hoover, Next Century and Crude. Nice package of heifers.

Please join us October 12, 2024 at 1 pm at the Beechinor Land and Livestock sale facility southwest of Bentley. If you are unable to attend please give any of us at Transcon a call. We are always happy to help.

See you sale day, Cody Coupland

Undoubtably the most talked about heifer we have ever produced, Rachel combines massive volume, a balanced profile and a certain presence that just says ‘Wow!’. Sired by Electric Avenue, and backed by a maternal sister to the highly regarded BLL Kalibre bull, Rachel’s dam, Parview Ms Rayen, was selected as an open heifer at Fleckvieh Equation back in 2015. Rayen has produced back to back stunning daughters, with Rachel’s older sister about to enter our donor program. Rachel would have been our selection for the World Sale in August, but we decided to save this special heifer to lead off our ‘Shades’ offering. She is a remarkable female that offers up unlimited potential for her successful new owner.

Homozygous Polled. Full Fleckvieh. Dana is a big barreled, quietly unassuming heifer that just goes about her business. She will be the last Double Bar D Confidence progeny to sell, a herd bull who is establishing a legacy through some highly regarded sons including BLL Creed and our very own APLX Coach and APLX Conway, who topped our sales strings at their respective Red Deer County Bull Sales. On the dam side, this is the second straight standout produced by Daphne, our eldest Anchor T Impact female, after her daughter led off our Equation 2023 offering, selling to Jeff Knox in Australia for $15,000. With five generations of the APLX prefix behind her, and a cow family that we have been working with for more than thirty years, Dana is another awesome example of where our program is headed. Soft and smooth made, Dana will develop into a versatile breeding piece with a stacked pedigree that contains a little different genetic twist!

Homozygous Polled. Non-Dilutor. Full Fleckvieh. Combining stature and style, Viola represents the results of an eleven year journey from our selection of BEE Vendetta from Beechinor Bros. at Fleckvieh Equation 2013. Vendetta went on to produce a herd bull for us (APLX Rambo), as well as two sons that topped our string at the Red Deer Bull Sale in their respective years. We retained all of her daughters and currently have three in production, with all three of them maintaining tight, tidy udders. Viola is the spitting image of her grandma at a similar age - showcasing that rare combination of substance and femininity. This cross with Battleborn ticks an awful lot of boxesperformance, maternal, carcass traits, and incredible eye appeal. We are confident that Viola will mature into a front pasture female with endless breeding options! Bred April 1 to Rugged R Cavill; Exposed to Virginia Journey April 2 - June 8 . On the sire side, we are now entering our third year of marketing Battleborn progeny, which have been very well received, averaging more than $11,000 to date. Louisiana is the first heifer to sell out of Century Hammer, a son we raised out of the great female maker Anchor D Raptor and STU 46C. The combination of Raptor and Top notch will result in highly maternal females. Unfortunately due to injury we only had Hammer for 2 breeding seasons but after calving outhis first heifers in our commercial herd we wish we had more. Highly maternal, good uddered heifers raising calves with lots of growth. Her dam VIRS 030H is a long, super docile cow with good feet and exceptional udder. Like her mother I see the same attributes in Louisiana, she’s a good honest heifer.

Lots of eye appeal on this long, dark red, heavily pigmented heifer. Her polled dam was purchased from the good folks at Johnson Ranching and is quickly becoming a productive female most notably with a daughter selling last year to Lone Stone. Like her sister Lainey has a little more frame and should drop in a beautiful udder. Her sire Crude has put many bulls and heifers through the ring for Virginia Ranch with the crude daughters consistently commanding a high dollar. Exciting mating to CENT 5H Hoover, the polled calf should be quick return on investment.

Bred Hoover CENT 5H on April 11th. Due Jan 21 th . Ultra sound safe

Liz is backed by a very productive pedigree, sired by Century Hammer (Raptor x STU 46C) On the maternal side going way back to Unbelievable 1U x Magnum. Grandam 528C a typical magnum daughter, heavily pigmented, good feet, has been a very productive cow for BLL. 925G might be the best footed cow on the farm. A maternal brother sold to Huber Simmentals in South Dakota and maternal sister is a standout heifer calf this year. Liz should be like her mama and generations before of productive cows that produce every year.

AI’d to Rugged R Cavill on April 8th. Due Jan 18 th . No exposure, ultra sound safe.
