Ringed by confusion and fear and incapable of recognizing any familiar silhouettes, smells or sounds, I suddenly hear the violent noise of something cracking three times. A drastically dense fog accompanied by a humongous cloud of dust surround me, trapping all of the air around my body. When it seems like things can’t get any worse, a colossal wave arises above the horizon and the steam of liquid kept behind it rapidly makes its way into my path.

Unforeseeably, a drastic breeze mixes everything up, building a chaotic atmosphere and initiating a rebellion of feelings and thoughts. In such environment, within suchlike circumstances, I’m pulled off the strength and ability required to find peace, hope and resilience, and an oppressing agony invades me. The void in my memory brings with itself a feeling of self-dissatisfaction which makes me helpless to recognize myself. The thought of being broken down into pieces quickly overruns my brain, taking away the little amount of faith I had left at this point.

It is in this precise moment that a shift between the unexpected and the tragedy I was submerged in clears its path into reality. The blurry elements blinding my sight fade away, constructing a clear track. A ray of light illuminates my way as I, step by step, cover the walk. During this process, the feeling of all of the past events being meant to be make my eyes see the light in the end of the tunnel.

When I reach the end of the track, I find myself surrounded by metal-cold walls, unable to proceed. The happiness that path brought is no longer in me, however, I start growing. I am achieving a level of personal growth which allows me to fill up the void that was once left in my mind. At this point, my increasing self-esteem makes me believe I can rise up high and touch the sky. I start to remember who I am and I get to understand the purpose I have in this planet and my destiny’s will.

All of a sudden, the heavy gigantic metallic walls disappear, leaving warmth in my surroundings. Sometimes life hands you an angel to guide you and show you the correct way. That’s what I got that day, my angel. A figure arises from the meaningless, spreading out happiness, freedom and joy.

Just like a little fairy, the figure starts embracing my life. It makes me feel special, beautiful and wanted. In the end, we all need that piece that guides us through all those bumps we need to go across in order to succeed and find out our matter, that piece that, until that day, had always been missing in my puzzle.

So there you go, that’s how complex a simple cupcake can be.
