LORDCO NEWS
Halloween at Lordco Auto Parts was a spine-chilling affair filled with ghoulish fun and festive cheer. From the Head Office to the Stores and Distribution Centre, employees came together to celebrate this haunting holiday in style. At the Head Office, the spirit of Halloween was in full swing as employees transformed into cowboys, ghosts and zombies, and even the Dark Knight made an appearance. Employees paraded around the halls, showcasing their creative costumes. A pumpkin carving contest saw individuals put their talent on display by designing spooky faces. To top it all off, trick-or-treating around the office added an element of fun, as colleagues exchanged goodies and shared in the Halloween spirit. Taryn Whyte, Human Resources Manager, expressed her enthusiasm for this spooky day, stating, “Halloween in the office was a fun time seeing everyone dressed up, some even collaborating with their departments to create awesome team costumes. We all channelled our inner child, as most of us haven't trick-or-treated since we were children, and it was the perfect opportunity to mingle with other departments that some don't get to interact with on a regular basis!” Lordco stores were not to be outdone when it came to Halloween festivities. Employees across Western Canada donned their best costumes, creating an eerie atmosphere that customers and colleagues enjoyed. Classic monsters like Freddy, Jason, and Pennywise made chilling appearances, alongside adorable animals and even engine parts! To satisfy sweet cravings, many employees brought in their favourite treats to share with their team. It’s a delightful blend of fright and delight that sets Lordco’s Halloween celebrations apart. Safety remained a top priority at our Distribution Centre, where employees expertly balanced the spooky fun with necessary precautions. Many employees donned costumes without compromising their ability to work safely. The spirit of Halloween thrived in the DC, demonstrating a keen awareness of the importance of workplace safety. Kudos to you! In every corner of Lordco Auto parts, Halloween is a time for employees to come together, unleash their creativity, and share in the joy of the season. From the Head Office’s vibrant festivities to the store’s spooktacular costumes, and the DC’s safety-conscious celebrations, Halloween at Lordco is always an unforgettable experience that leaves everyone awaiting next year’s frightful fun.

One word...easy. That's how it is when u deal with Lordco. Whether on the phone or in person. Anything and everything auto parts, they are your guys. I have shopped at lordco for 25 years
Ryan from the Pitt Meadows location provides amazing service. He really knows his parts. I always ask for Ryan when I call to order parts.

Rodney Coates- #67 Parksville
Daniel Cote - #112 Calgary
If you're a small mechanic, in my opinion , in Parksville or Qualicum Beach, Lordco is a great company to help you get the automotive parts you need the same day. The Parksville Lordco has an awesome manager I trust given my few issues he's solved over my company's 1000s of purchases. Real good guy!
Now my goto shop for car parts. Has excellent access to parts with 1-2 day shipping from warehouses in BC and Alberta. Most products are on the shelf. They have Moog suspension parts, making researching part numbers simple to do. Shout out to counter staff, especially Dan who really understand cars, as he is a gear head himself. Great location, nice store, open 7 days!
Thank you, -Grant, International Classic Motorcycles and Motortrikes, Coombs
-Jon Kinghorn
Eric Derish - #70 Nanaimo Wow was not expecting this above and beyond service!! Eric was super helpful and absolutely made sure that my wipers were the correct size after I lost one on the highway after I literally got it replaced last week :,) really really grateful for his eager and kind help!! Will be coming back here if I’m ever in the area and will be recommending this location to others :) thanks Eric !! -Teresa C

A Halloween Full of Frights!
STARS OF SAFETY NOVEMBER RECOGNITION
OHS is shining a light on the Nelson store. Their newly elected Safety Rep, Vicki P, is raising the bar for what it means to be a Safety Rep. Vicki actively engages her staff on the monthly safety topics and motivates them to be safety aware. In October, she ensured Team Nelson had 100% participation in the Bullying and Harassment pledges, in addition to making sure everyone acknowledged the refresher training. Congratulations to Team Nelson, as well as to Vicki, Cheri, Douglas, Devin, Steven, Christopher, Selina, Rose, Thomas, Laura Lee, Simon, Noah, and Kelsey for their leadership. Great job in supporting this important topic and ensuring your team treats everyone with kindness and respect. Additional recognition goes to Team Merritt and Team Mission for nearly achieving 100% of your pledges. You are all Safety Rockstars.
Learning from our past... You’ve heard the phrase, “Hindsight is 20/20” … well, that is often the case in the world of safety. After someone has been hurt, we think of all the steps we should have taken differently; the PPE we should have worn, a missed opportunity for refresher training, a process that isn’t working but is still being used. Most of the time, it is a series of actions that contribute to an incident. This month, to learn from our past, we are revisiting the injury process. Too often, paperwork is inaccurate or untimely, resulting in delays of employee claims, compensation, and unnecessary calls and emails. To help ensure your claim is handled correctly the first time, review the Injury Reporting process, and be prepared so we can focus on you and your recovery, not your paperwork.
1.
Immediately report the incident to the first aid attendant on duty and your manager. First Aid will offer treatment and work with you to complete required documentation. If additional or elevated medical attention is needed, Lordco will arrange transportation for you to the clinic/hospital. If a FA attendant or manager is not on the premises, contact Nicole Katrynuik, Lordco’s WCB Coordinator to report the injury/illness and complete the documentation nkatrynuik@lordco.com or 604-476-4276
2. • • • • • •
Injuries may require all or part or all of the following forms: First Aid Record Modified Duty Offer "6A” or Worker Report of Injury form in BC "C060" or Occupational Disease form in AB. Medical Releases Return to Work Plan (to be discussed with physician) Modified Duties Inventory forms (to be discussed with physician)
3.
Participate in your injury management if you have on modified work tasks or unable to return to work per a doctor’s diagnosis. Follow any modified duty/injury management plan given to aid in your recovery, Keep in weekly contact with your manager with status updates.

If you have any questions surrounding Workplace Violence and its prevention, please contact Kristin St. Clair- OHS 604-476-4231
