Last month, Perry Bishop, the Faringdon-based estate agents supported three fundraising events. For the past five years, they have taken part in Macmillan’s Biggest Coffee Morning with all the money raised going to Macmillan Cancer Support. This year was no different as they once again put up a stall outside their Market Place office loaded with home-made cakes made by members of staff and their families and friends. This charity is particularly close to the hearts of two members of Perry Bishop’s staff. Sue Crook, who has worked at the Faringdon office for seven years and lost her husband, Ken, to cancer; and Sarah Benson, who has been with Perry Bishop for over 30 years and is currently off work as her husband, Roddy, is on palliative care with cancer. Perry Bishop estate agents also flew their banner alongside their gazebo at the Faringdon Rugby Family Fun Day at the end of September. As part of their commitment to supporting the local community, the staff offered free goodies for children. The day of family fun also featured a bbq, bar plus free activities and games for children and adults. In addition, throughout September, Sue Crook and Gerry Millington have been taking part in the Maggie’s 150 mile cycle ride to raise at least £150 to help support people with cancer. The fundraising page to support Sue and Gerry and donate to Maggie’s has been extended to the end of October, so please make your donation at: www.facebook.com/donate/1011492379598598/?fundaiser_ source=external.url If you would like to feature your business in a free editorial in The Advertiser, please find out how by contacting the Editor, Lou on 01367 244975, 07894 554551 or lou@theadvertisermagazine.net

FARINGDON RUGBY CLUB
Faringdon Rugby Union Football Club kicked off the new 2021/22 season with a packed schedule throughout August and September. Firstly, we were delighted to welcome Gloucester Rugby, our local premiership rugby side, to the FRUFC clubhouse and facilities at Folly Park on the 2nd and 3rd of August. In the first of what we hope will be many visits, some of the professionals and rugby staff from Gloucester Rugby spent two days working with boys and girls aged between 6 and 16 to improve rugby skills in an enjoyable and encouraging environment. Under their expert guidance, 75-80 kids had a great time in the sunshine playing a variety of ball games, all designed to improve their rugby skills and to make them better rugby players. On the 12th September we had our first ever Inner Warrior session, designed specifically for women’s rugby. The free event was a blend of fitness training that then culminated in a competitive bout of touch rugby. Feedback was so positive we aim to host another, plus put together a women’s rugby team. In the meantime, Touch Rugby, is held every Tuesday 18:30 to 19:30 at the Club all ages are very welcome. Keep a look out for more news on the team and another Inner Warrior soon. The youth teams played in an 8 Nations on what was a glorious sunny day. The tournament is a fun way for kids and adults to kick off the season, which England won! What was really impressive was the mix of age groups and teamwork. Thanks to all the parents and our volunteer helpers for the support on the day. Our senior team, The Silverbacks, also won their last pre-season friendly against Minety (one league above), 21-5. Good luck for the season everyone! As we write our monthly update, FRFUC is about to host the first Families Day (Sat 25th Sept) for the community and surrounding villages, as part of The Silverbacks first home game of the season. With all the activities FREE we hope that you all enjoyed it! Lastly, we are now part of the community lottery where each ticket sold helps with our ongoing fundraising for the club. For your chance to win £25K every week register with www.whitehorselottery.co.uk/support/faringdon-rugby. GET INVOLVED! Maybe you are a long-term resident or are new to Faringdon. Perhaps you are here for a few years at one of the nearby service bases. Either way, make rugby union YOUR sport and Faringdon YOUR rugby club. To keep track on what is happening at FRFUC, follow us on Facebook or check out our events on the website www.faringdonrugby.club/events

Boom is a professional photographer based in Faringdon, who started her own photography business, WBoomS Photography three years ago. She is now delighted to introduce a new service called Cake Smash Photography. There is no better way to celebrate your child’s birthday than to have fun, smash a cake and make memories as well as a mess! The photo shoot takes place in a studio environment with a choice of backdrops, props and a delicious Swiss meringue and butter-cream cake from Boom’s very own baker. Fah, who is an excellent baker and fully trained in Food Hygiene, also happens to be Boom’s sister! Her beautiful and stylish bespoke cake creations range from birthday cakes to wedding cakes of epic proportions! The delicious Cake Smash cakes are available to purchase as an extra add-on to the cost of the photo shoot and will be custom-made to fit in with the backdrop of your choice. Customers can, of course, choose to bring their own cake if they wish. There is no extra charge for this, but Boom would need to know the theme and colour of the cake in advance in order to fit it in with the chosen backdrop. There are currently 12 different themes, backdrops and props to choose from many that are great for both boys and girls. After the birthday Cake Smash session for the little one, the birthday boy or girl can then have a bubble-bath splash in a small vintage metal bathtub, chosen from a range of bathtubs at the time of booking. Every Cake Smash birthday child will get to have a splash afterwards and will be photographed in a studio setting in front of the same backdrop as the Cake Smash session. Smash and splash – a perfect end to a fun, but messy, photo session and customers will get to choose their favourite photos from a selection of images, which they can cherish forever. The Cake Smash Photography service is designed for any birthday celebration for children aged between 1-3 years. Elon Musk is currently at the top of his game. It appears anything he touches turns to gold or a lucrative business venture. Musk is referred to as the founder of Zip, PayPal, Solar City, SpaceX, and, of course, Tesla. However, there is some controversy over the term founder, suggesting that the term investor be more appropriate. I had heard of him but did not really know much about him, so I read his biography, written by Ashlee Vance.
GARDENSCAPE
It fascinated me to find out about Musk’s early life and the odd relationship he had with his father. His unconventional childhood and the loving siblings he still shares his life with. It indeed came through that Musk himself was an odd child, preferring to read books and spend time by himself unless he was letting off rockets. Money is Musk’s driving force. The impression from the book is that money can come and go, and you can always make more. In fact, SpaceX and Tesla have been hours from bankruptcy until an investor stepped in. Musk is frivolous with money. The story about him travelling to Russia to buy a rocket and being offered one for $10 million is amusing. However, his attitude that he could make a rocket for much less is impressive. Indeed, every company Musk is involved in eventually has an ethos. If an item cost $10,000, Musk wants to make or buy it for $100. It is with this philosophy that Musk and SpaceX put a rocket into space. It is refreshing that Musk and his colleagues will look at a problem, rethink it and then think about it again. Come back with several solutions at a fraction of the price. Then put the idea into practice and work as a cohesive team. Musk is a workaholic, working 14-16 hours a day and often sleeping in the workplace. This has certainly taken a toll on his private life, being divorced three times with 5 children. One has to wonder if this will also have an effect on his health. Once Musk gets an idea, he is obsessive, and his staff need to be as driven as he is, or they are fired. It is an interesting read to discover the drive and ambitions of one of the most influential men of the first part of the 21st century. Said the lobster to the turkey How I find this canvas murky Shall we go out in the sunshine? And perhaps I can locate an ocean with brine Said the turkey let us walk now Though I find it hard to talk now Lobster & It is one of my endeavours Turkey To retrieve my head and neck and coat of feathers Are you leaving? Asked the melon Would you want to be a felon? Not at all dear squealed the lemon It’s appealing to be free so don’t condemn them
Of all the paintings to end up in, this lobster and turkey have found themselves inside a still life. Despite the extraordinary detail with which Abraham van Beyeren has drawn this sumptuous spread, still lifes were ranked below other genres of painting in the seventeenth century. They are still somewhat overlooked today. Perhaps the objects in the picture are similarly unimpressed and are wishing that they were somewhere else. Perhaps if we were to lean in closer we could overhear their conversation. This poem can be performed to the tune of Amilcare Ponchielli’s ‘Dance of the Hours’ (more popularly known as Hello Mudder, Hello Fadder). It’s on YouTube and the album: ‘Fins, Wings and Other Things’. Crafters Emporium Faringdon HANDMADE PRODUCTS, UNIQUE CRAFTERS
I think I say something similar every month (and if I don’t I probably think it), but where has the year gone? It feels like it was only just summer and we’re already well into October ready for Autumn, faffing in the garden, decorating, baking treacle tarts and pies and if you’re as excited about it as me, decorating the house for Halloween. This year I am looking forward to picking pumpkins from Millets Garden Centre. We went last year in the pouring rain and there was no one else there, it was really good fun and we brought home four pumpkins that we carved and enjoyed at home. If you’re following me on @hercountryliving on Instagram you’ll have seen I decorated my door a few weeks ago and have started doing so inside the cottage too. Back at the end of August my Mum and I went on an afternoon tea making course and learnt to make macarons for the first time ever. I was thinking this year I could try my hand at making some pumpkin style ones or even spiders (adding on some sugary legs for decoration) - we will see if I get time to do this and if I do I’ll be sharing it over on my blog www.hercountryliving.com.

Manufacturers of Natural Goats Milk Soap, Lotions, Shampoos & More.
In the meantime I would also love to see what you’re up to in the kitchen and what you’ve been doing at home to get ready for Autumn. I think it’s fun and exciting and it gives me something crafty to do that isn’t typing away on the laptop and working. Over the next few weeks we have lots planned, from trips to Autumn Festivals in the local area to sorting out the garden at home for the spring next year. I need to cut back lots of the flowers and plants and let them fall back down into the soil as well as digging up some bulbs that I will dry out and keep dormant until next year. I found this year after planting a lot of bulbs, many went rotten that I left in the ground. I think this is due to the really wet year we have had and so to avoid that happening again will be digging the majority up. I have also got the remainder of my tomato crop to harvest, after initially not working too well I have managed to get them to a point where they are no longer producing fruit with blossom blight and are giving me a healthy crop of fruit. I’d love to know what you’ve been up to at home, so pop over to my blog and let me know here: www.hercountryliving.com

This Is About Trees - Planting Trees! Lots Of Them - In Faringdon This Winter! Of course, the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago; but the next best time is this November. Why November? First Reason: while a tree is resting from producing leaves and fruit, it has more energy to make good roots. The soil is also ideal - still warm from the summer, but not too dry. Second Reason : in November this year there is a Global Climate Conference. The UK is hosting a 12-day meeting in Glasgow with the world’s climate scientists and political leaders. This is being seen as the last chance for the world to step back from the brink of complete climate disaster. Will a few hundred trees in Faringdon make any difference? Yes – Every Single One. Planting a tree is hopeful and practical. Let’s show our children and grandchildren that we believe in the future. Let’s tell the world’s leaders that we are watching them and we expect them to get it right this time. And each tree will be removing carbon from the atmosphere for years to come, while also giving a home to countless birds and insects and smaller plants and fungi. A small step to add greatly to the beauty and health of the earth and everything that is in it. Will you branch out with us this November (or in fact anytime up to next March)? Order a tree now, ready for planting in the winter. Find out how, at the Information Centre, or the Mustard Seed Shop, or go to www.faringdon.org

So said Donald Trump in 2014 on a visit to California, revealing how little the next President of the United States understood about climate change. ‘Global warming’ refers to the longterm increase in the average temperature of our planet. Last year was the hottest year on record, tying with 2016. In fact, the last 6 years are the 6 hottest years on record. It’s now very clear that we’ve been fiddling with the earth’s thermostat by pumping 87 million tonnes of carbon pollution into the atmosphere every day. Christians believe that God has created this earth for us and other creatures to live on and therefore we need to be good stewards of it. The earth is not ours to trash- as Psalm 24 v1 says ‘The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it’. Christian leaders have been urging us for centuries to take care of our planet and the life it sustains. Back in the 18th century John Wesley said ‘Faith in Jesus Christ can and will lead us to concern for the well-being of the birds in our backyards, the fish in our rivers and every living creature on the face of the earth’.
But what can we do? We can write to our MP David Johnston at david.johnston.mp@parliament.uk to encourage our government in its green policies and ask that its carbon reduction targets are sufficiently high to make the necessary difference, energetically pursued and actually met. We can also pray for minds to be changed and hearts to be moved so that leaders of countries like China and India commit to taking earth-preserving action now. We can also get involved, from a faith perspective or none, in our local Earth and Faith group’s ‘Faringdon branches out’ project which encourages us to ‘plant trees for the planet’ this autumn. See www.faringdon.org for how to get a tree you can plant. Also, the Faringdon Quakers are having a free Climate Change exhibition on the effect of fossil fuels at the Friends Meeting House at various times in October including the afternoons of 2nd, 3rd, 5th. 9th and 10th. Let’s all play our part in answering Pope Francis’ question about climate change: ‘What kind of world do we want to leave to those who come after us, to children who are now growing up?’ Steve Bellamy Vicar of All Saints’ Faringdon
As we approach the COP 26 summit on climate change, which the UK is hosting in Glasgow next month, we can be glad that the USA has rejoined the Paris Climate Change agreement and that many countries are acknowledging that significant action must be taken to avert disaster for future generations.

Perry Bishop Launches VIP Club For Local Residents 2021 has been a great year for anyone selling up, particularly in our part of the word where house prices have risen more than 10% year on year. However, many of us who have been thinking about a move have held back because we’ve been unable to find somewhere to move to. At Perry Bishop we have access to thousands of homeowners across our patch who could be persuaded to come to market if and when the right property comes along. It’s a bit of a chicken and egg situation – but our expert team is here to make these connections, to help make your move possible. We may, for example, be able to source an off-market property that’s just what you’re looking for. Even if you are just thinking about a move, we’d love to hear from you. As a local resident, you will automatically join our new and exclusive VIP Buyers Club, giving you privileged access to new properties about to list before they hit the property portals like Rightmove and Zoopla, as well as access to properties being marketed on a ‘low-key’ basis that won’t be visible on our website or the portals. Our VIP Buyers Club is only open to people who live in around Faringdon. Dessert Wines For a complete change this month, I want to discuss dessert wines, these are wines that will work brilliantly with your dessert (pudding) course. Because most desserts are sweet and tend to have a strong flavour, normal wines will taste a little harsh if drunk with the dessert. Your mouth is full of sweet stuff and then you pour in a wine which does not have much if any sweetness and this results in the mind thinking it is just not as nice to taste a it was a few minutes ago.
Drive Well For Less
Wine makers have worked to create wines that can cope with the sweet flavours and even enhance them. A nice dessert wine will have natural sweetness, plus strong fruit flavours that work with your dessert. Perhaps the best known is Sauternes, which is in the Bordeaux region of France. Here the vineyards are on the banks of rivers, which generate a micro climate that in the autumn generates a mist that rises to cloak the vineyards and vines. The vines develop a special mould that sucks out some of the moisture and concentrates the flavours in the wine. This automatically increases the sweetness as the natural sugars are also left in the grapes. The careful management of this process and choosing the optimum picking time is essential. Like many wines, you can get reasonable priced wines around £10 - 15 per bottle and at the top end you will pay hundreds! Most dessert wines are presented in half bottles - 37.5cl. This is because the wine is best served chilled and in small glasses. You will find that a small glass is enough to go with a typical pudding. Also in the Bordeaux region is Monbazillac where you get similar effects from the nearby river and they specialise in producing this lovely wine. Usually it is cheaper than the Sauternes, but nearly as good. Over in Germany, Austria and Canada they make ice wine . This does what it says, the grape are left on the vines till the frost hits them, then they can be picked. By this time, the grapes have shrunk due to moisture evaporating from the grape and the freezing temperatures really concentrate the flavours. You can sometimes get these at Aldi or Lidl. Otherwise try Majestic. Others to try are Muscat, Moscatel, Vouvray (sweet ones), Marsala and Pedro Ximenez (PX). This last one can throw you a surprise and I wanted to share a particularly unusual wine with you. Noe 30-Year-Old Pedro Ximenez Sherry Gonzalez Byass which can be found online and in Majestic Wine stores. It is an unusual looking wine, being almost black, thick (like double cream) and while it is super sweet, you will get bombarded with the intense flavours of dates, plums, raisins, cinnamon and treacle. This is just so luscious that you can have it poured over vanilla ice cream! Yes it comes in a small bottle, but it packs a huge punch of flavours. I hope you enjoy trying some of these dessert wines and please remember to drink responsibly. From your wine enthusiast. Ian Lloyd

Healthy Living!

My Core Message! What’s My Core Message to You? There are 4 fundamental tips to keep you healthy and well. 1. Move your body – it’s one of our most basic functions 2. Nourish your body – we need nutrients to survive 3. Rest your body – revitalizes, aids healing, improves mood 4. Socialise with others – provides us with emotional support and mental wellbeing. I have these 4 fundamentals in mind every day when I train my clients. Personal training for me isn’t just about weight loss or muscle building, although sometimes, that is what I am asked to help with, but more about healthy living and helping people to see and do things differently. Some of my most impressive results have been about more than weight loss. One of my clients recently said to me “Rich, If it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t be alive now”. This was from someone I have known for 5 years. I have helped him with motivation, I support him and educate him to make better food choices and encourage him to be active when he’s on his own. The social side of our personal and small group sessions has kept him feeling able to cope when he’s feeling stressed, kept him from slipping into negative thought patterns and allowed him to let off steam when his anxiety increases. He never misses a training session and, no matter what’s going on in his life, the diary is fixed when it comes to our morning exercise. A recent annual checkup at the doctor’s was so positive that any worries he has about his general health has diminished and he feels he can do greater things when it come to our sessions. Another benefit of regular exercise is reducing inflammation in the body and boosting our immune system, as two of my regular clients have observed. Both have been suffering from different forms of rheumatoid arthritis for a number of years. With regular exercise and improved diet they have both seen their inflammation-related ‘flare ups’ reduce. Even the consultant was amazed how one has responded and, for her, the results were dramatic - something the consultant was going to pass on to more of her patients. Getting to know the person you are working for is key. It enables me to adapt an exercise programme to suit my clients’ moods as well as their needs. In some cases I have changed our session from exercise to sports massage as it was more beneficial on that day. Another client has commented how his knees have been less sore when walking the dog or getting up from a chair since we have added massage to our sessions. I have seen how his walking has improved and he is able to get more from his exercise sessions. The reason for using these examples is to show that personal trainers can guide you to reach your fitness goals in different ways. I work alongside other health professionals and those who have been in the wellness industry for a while, and have seen fads come and go, try to pass on the message that the basics matter. My core message about moving, nourishing, resting and socialising remains key. Sometimes we need help to realise this! Many get lost in the detail or confused by the message. This usually stops them from starting or means they give up before they see results. So many people I meet say to me “I know what to eat” or “I know I should exercise regularly” or “I know I should get out and do more” but they don’t do it! I have even had people come to me with a sheet of physio exercises or regimes from a consultant and asked me to exercise with them, as they don’t do it on their own. I enjoy giving practical advice, tools and tips to help you make the best choices for your health and wellbeing. It’s rewarding to be able to use the knowledge and experience that I’ve been fortunate enough to have obtained by working with so many clients over the years. Movement matters! David Johnston MP Parish News I am writing this after the first full week of parliament’s return, when all MPs have been present. While I had been going down to London Monday-Thursday once it was permitted again, some MPs have not been physically in the House of Commons for nearly 18 months. All of us who were attending physically had been subject to a socially distanced chamber with only a fraction of MPs allowed in and all committee meetings were on Zoom. The place is now transformed, with much more atmosphere; proper debates where people can ‘intervene on’ (interrupt to politely make a counterpoint) each other; and I for one felt our first Education Committee meeting was much more focussed and better for being able to put ministers and their officials under scrutiny. Virtual parliament is better than no parliament, but a lot is lost. With the exception of a few days in Yorkshire and a couple of days in Norfolk, I spent most of recess at home in Didcot. There were some great events just before we returned. One was the Longworth Church Fete, which had a good turnout and good weather, a very competitive dog show and classics like a tombola and coconut shy. Another was a tea party at the Almshouse of Robert Stiles in Wantage, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Almshouse Association. Almshouses have existed in the UK for more than 1000 years and provide low-cost housing to the local community. They have something in common with fetes in that both are run by volunteers. And, as with the return of parliament, they give a taste of what’s been missed through Covid. I know that the pressure on GP services continues to be a bugbear. Over the summer, I met with both the Wantage surgeries and chaired a larger meeting of the Didcot surgeries, Clinical Commissioning Group, Patient Participation Group reps and the District Council in Didcot. The long-overdue expansion of Mably Way in Wantage has just had a step forward after a meeting of the CCG: the business case has been approved and the planning application has been submitted. In Didcot, there is both the particular short-term need presented by the new houses at sites such as Great Western Park and a longer-term need given the expected population growth. In broad terms there’s agreement about what we need. My job is to do all I can to try and ensure we get it. Other recent meetings of note were with some residents of Appleford and some residents of Sutton Courtenay. The Appleford meeting was specifically about the location of the relief road and the desire of the group to see it moved 200m to where Oxfordshire County Council were originally going to put it.
I think there is a compelling case for this and have contacted the County Council with the points the group wanted raised. The Sutton Courtenay meeting was a broader one about the development that has taken place and promised improvements that have still not arrived – at my request, they’re giving me a task list of things they’d like me to do! A final mention for a couple of charities. Adrian is an ambassador for the Stroke Association and runs a group in Grove. He can deliver free of charge presentations to groups of any age about the risk factors for having a stroke. The other is Root and Branch, near Shrivenham, which runs outdoor activities for those with mental health difficulties. I visited this month and they need volunteer blacksmiths/metal workers to help run classes for those that use the service. Do get in touch if you can help – or indeed, as ever, if you’d like to contact me about anything else:

Faringdon Bell Ringers If you were in Worcester on 11th September you’d have heard young Faringdon and Vale ringers. They were part of the Oxford team that Won The National Youth Contest. Congratulations! It’s held annually around the country and is for bell ringers up to the age of eighteen. Ringing is becoming a teenage activity, we’re definitely not all grey beards these days (no comment on your correspondent). The picture shows the 12 bells of Worcester Cathedral’s ringing peal plus a few extra and on the left the 4 ton bourdon bell on which the clock strikes. Pandemic effects seem to be wearing off. Let’s hope it stays that way. You’ve probably heard All Saints ringing all eight on Sundays, and Monday practices are back so you’re welcome to visit us.
There’s a lovely new peal of bells at Broadwell, just across the Thames at Radcot. Some of us were invited to ring in the first quarter peal on the eight. A peal is 5040 changes which is the maximum possible on seven bells and takes about three hours ringing. A quarter is more manageable ! We have been joining practices at Swindon and Hinton Waldrist. On 18th September there was an open ringing day at churches around Banbury that some of us took part in. It was a great day in the country with the sun shining although my lack of stamina meant I didn’t ring at all 23 towers ! Whether or not you would like to try ringing we would love to welcome you to visit Sunday service ringing (9.45-10.30 am) or Monday practice (7.30-9.00 pm) at All Saints Church or you can contact us by emailing faringdonringers@gmail.com.

| The Advertiser | page 29 | Even the word conjures up Latin-American rhythms and fun. But could Zumba! be the exercise class for you? Its key reason for success as a route to greater fitness is due to the participants enjoying themselves. Indeed, I’ve regularly heard people say they are having so much fun dancing they forget they are actually exercising. And it’s great for shedding unwanted calories, up to 1,000 per hour in some studies. Zumba is also a good way to exercise your whole body, with improvements in cardiovascular health, co-ordination and balance too. It’s a low-cost activity, which doesn’t require any equipment: just some loose-fitting clothing and comfortable trainer-type shoes. The 50-minute classes at Shrivenham include people aged from 20 to 70, who come in all shapes and sizes. But I’m proud to say that we are a very non-judgemental bunch, who’ve made lots of new friends over time. So anyone who likes to dance and wants to exercise can benefit: my aim is to leave you smiling and keen to return. We all need a little me-time after the restrictions of the past 18 months, so come and try burning up some Covid kilos with us. As a result of robust and growing research evidence, acupuncture is now recommended in the NICE guidelines for the treatment of chronic pain. How does it work? The biological mechanisms for acupuncture’s effect on pain have been researched for over 60 years, yet there is still much that isn’t well understood. We do know that acupuncture can deactivate pain centres in the brain, stimulate the body to release endorphins (natural pain killers), and release or regulate other chemicals involved in pain reduction. There is also evidence that acupuncture can help shift the nervous system from sympathetic ‘fight or flight’ mode back towards parasympathetic ‘rest and repair’ mode. This is particularly relevant in cases of stress-related and chronic pain. A holistic approach The holistic approach of Chinese medicine takes into account the effects of a person’s diet, environment and emotions as well as their posture and structure. From the quality and location of the symptoms, patterns can be identified, often among apparently unrelated problems. This approach provides a different way of understanding the body, which can be especially helpful in complex or chronic cases where other, more conventional approaches haven’t been successful. Acupuncture techniques for pain Acupuncture might be used to release tight muscles and increase blood flow locally, but we will often use points in other locations to affect the painful area or address whatever underlying imbalances are causing the pain. Other techniques like electroacupuncture and cupping may be used, and we often suggest exercises or lifestye advice to support the treatment. What to expect When you come for acupuncture you can expect a long initial consultation where we take time to talk through all aspects of your health. Most people find acupuncture very relaxing, in fact many even fall asleep during treatment. In most cases expect a minimum of 4-6 treatments to see lasting benefits. Richard is an acupuncturist with over 10 years’ experience and a special interest in pain and stress-related conditions. He also teaches qigong and is a member of the British Acupuncture Council.
