Dear Lourdes Family, This summer I had the opportunity to make a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. In speaking with our pilgrims since our journey, many of them commented on how the Scriptures, Stations of the Cross, and the rosary are much more real for them now. I believe the reason for this is that we were able to encounter the roots of our faith. In walking in the footsteps of Jesus and Mary we were able to encounter our spiritual heritage, to realize more fully where we have come from and, ultimately, where we are going. By connecting with the past, we developed a greater understanding of who we are as Christians.
New technologies now give us dozens of ways to discover our ancestry and the genetic background which indicates our heritage. People have a growing interest in knowing “where they come from.” Knowledge of our past seems to bring a sense of our place in history and gives us a unique picture of our place in God’s wondrous mosaic of life. I have spoken with many in our community about the sense of family that they have found here at Lourdes, and I continue to place the promotion of the sense of family as one of my foremost responsibilities. Each of you is an important part of our past, present, and future. I hope you always consider Lourdes Central Catholic as part of your heritage. This first Annual Report is a way of tracing the legacy and lineage of Lourdes Central Catholic. We must remember our past and celebrate our recent successes. I hope you will take a few moments to review this 2016-2017 chapter in the life of Lourdes. Our students have many outstanding achievements. I want to thank all in the Lourdes family for the gifts, both large and small, to our Annual Appeal. Because of your generosity, we raised over $200,000 to assist students with tuition, invest in our teachers, and balance our budget. We are indeed blessed to have your support. We look forward to another exciting year at Lourdes. I ask that you keep us in your prayers as we faithfully keep you and your family in ours.
Go Knights! Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Mark Cyza President

"Legacy. What is a legacy? It's planting seeds in a garden that you never get to see." A gift in your will or estate plan is a thoughtful way to reflect your lifetime support of the Lourdes Central Catholic School Endowment. Your gift ensures the mission of our school to provide a Christ-centered learning environment for all students who pass through our halls and for future generations to come. The Knights Legacy Society recognizes all who have pledged a future gift to our Lourdes Central Catholic School family. The success of the mission depends on the thoughtful generosity of our donors.
