Fabrication Duration: Creating volumes Mixing plaster with water Pouring plaster Plaster curing time Removing void formers Cleaning up

Comment and Observation: : 80 mins : 5 mins : 2 mins : 42 hours : 50 mins : 10 mins

The ratio of plaster to water estimated to be 1 to 1 ratio which might cuase the plaster piece to break easily. The curing time for the marqutte is 42 hours (approximately 2 days). The void volumes tend to float to the mixture surface and the end result is unpredictable.

Total production duration : 147 mins + 42 hrs curing time

44 hours 27 mins (include curing time)

Comment and Observation:

Method(s) and materials: Plaster to water ratio Curing time (plaster) Styrofoam model joinery Solvent used Weight (kg)

: 4 to 3 : 23 hours : PVA glue (first attempt) + Screws (second attempt) : Acetone : 1.80 kg (first attempt) 1.61 kg (second attempt)

Fabrication Duration: Measuring stereotomic space: 30 mins Creating assembling module : 80 mins Cutting styrofoam model : 180 mins Mixing plaster with water : 5 mins Taping foam box : 2 mins Pouring plaster : 2 mins Plaster curing time : 23 hours Disolving styrofoam : 30 mins Cleaning up : 10 mins Total construction duration : 339 mins + 23 hrs curing time

• The ratio of plaster to water is four to three, the marquette are holding together stronger. • The quality of the solid styrofoam model for the first attempt is unprecise and rough causing the finished marquette to have an uneven, rougher texture. Furthermore the styrofoam model was floating around even though is secured with masking tape. • The styrofoam model is screwed to the foam box for second attempt to avoid floating around. • The styrofoam model is cut more precies and clean for the second attempt.

• Four parts of plaster and three parts of water are used, the plaster are holding together stronger. • It does requred secound pour of plaster. Regarding the first attempt, the styrofoam model seem to be broken apart while pouring the plaster (refer to figure 1.2.6). • Additional nails are used to further strengthen the styrofoam joints and attached to the foam box. • The styrofoam models are purposely design to be expose to surface so acetone can be easily applied to the styrofoam.
