Located in Elk Grove, just south of Sacramento and adjacent to Interstate 5, the new headquarters for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is a campus of secure facilities consolidating 1,400 employees. LPAS designed the entire pedestrian-oriented campus which features connectivity between five buildings totaling over 420,000 square feet.
Designed to meet the needs of CDCR, the privately developed project includes three new LEED Gold certified buildings ranging from 3 to 4 stories. LPAS provided master planning and full architectural, interior design, landscape architecture services, beginning with space program verification and through construction administration services.
The project features cost-effective tilt-up construction with a high-efficiency envelope design, efficient curtain wall system, and a variety of work spaces from open areas to private offices. The LEED Gold certified buildings features sustainable strategies including roof-mounted 292 KW photovoltaic arrays and electrical vehicle charging stations.
