LPAS has a 43-year history of specializing in the design of perfoming arts and higher education projects throughout California. In the last 10 years our firm has designed projects for 3 UC campuses, 3 CSU campus, and 27 community college campuses. LPAS was founded by an architect and landscape architect which has embedded our approach to design as a holistic view of the environment where buildings and landscape are seen as integral parts of a single composition.

Sacramento. This move is significant for CPR because it locates them near the State Capitol, the new Golden 1 Center and the heart of the arts and entertainment district. Two floors of an existing building are being renovated to provide broadcast studios, control rooms, production booths and a variety of open and enclosed work environments.

An important aspect of this project is the display of Diego Rivera’s Pan American Unity Mural so that it can be viewed from within the building and from Frida Kahlo Way in a secured and environmentally controlled setting.

provided a complete reconfiguration of the main theater, increasing the number of seats from 362 to 411 seats and greatly improved sight lines and accessibility. Other renovated spaces included choral and instrumental studios, classrooms, lobby and student support spaces and a new 3,500 sf Black Box, highly flexible instructional/ performance space that accommodates dance, theater and music.
