Нарешті дочекалися! Цього місяця в Україні та Польщі стартує довгоочікуваний Чемпіонат Європи з футболу 2012. Фінальний матч престижних змагань відбудеться 1 липня в Києві. Масштаб Євро-2012 і його значення для України важко переоцінити. Вже той факт, що до Чемпіонату було спеціально виготовлено близько двох тисяч м’ячів, говорить про розмах цієї спортивної події. В Україні проект підготовки до Євро-2012 успішно завершився, і країна готова зустрічати футбольних вболівальників з усієї Європи. Вже функціонують нові термінали в аеропортах Києва – “Борисполі” та “Жулянах”, а також у Харкові, Львові й Донецьку. У чотирьох українських містах-господарях Чемпіонату побудовані сучасні футбольні арени й нові готелі, створені місця для кемпінгів, які пропонують вболівальникам розміщення за доступними цінами. Між приймаючими містами відкриті нові залізничні маршрути, якими курсують швидкісні потяги, відремонтовано й оновлено автомобільні шляхи. Для “Міжнародних Авіаліній України” Євро-2012 також є знаковою подією: впродовж більш як п’яти років МАУ є авіапартнером Федерації футболу України та офіційним авіаперевізником Національної та Молодіжної збірних футбольних команд України. Прагнучи максимально сприяти нашим гравцям в успішній підготовці до цього найбільш відповідального з турнірів (та гаряче вболіваючи за наші команди), ми доправили їх на майже п’ятдесят футбольних матчів. It’s here at last! This month the long awaited 2012 European Football Championship will kick off in Ukraine and Poland, with the oh-so prestigious final match to take place in Kiev on 1 June. The scale of Euro 2012 and its importance to Ukraine cannot be overestimated. The fact that almost 2,000 footballs have been specially manufactured for the event gives some indication of its size. In Ukraine, preparations are complete and the country is ready to welcome football fans from all over Europe. New terminals at the international airports of Kiev – both Boryspil and Zhuliany airports – Kharkov, Lvov and Donetsk are already in operation; state-of-the-art football stadiums at all four venues are ready; new hotels have been opened; campsites offering accommodation at very reasonable prices have been established; and new rail routes operating high speed trains have been launched while roads between the host cities of Ukraine have been reconstructed to a very high standard. Euro 2012 is a landmark event for us at Ukraine International Airlines: for over five years, UIA has been a partner of the Football Federation of Ukraine and is the official carrier of the National Ukrainian Football Teams. Aiming to contribute in every way possible to the effective training of our players for this most important of tournaments (and rooting for them passionately), we’ve already flown them to participate in almost 50 matches. Also visit St. Vladimir’s Cathedral, famous for murals by Viktor Vasnetsov, Mikhail Vrubel and Mykola Pymonenko. as well, the Catholic Church of St. Nicholas, built in the early 20 th century in the Gothic style by famous architect Vladyslav Gorodetsky, is worth your time. It can accommodate up to 70,000 fans at a time and includes six video screens, which allow everybody to watch Euro 2012 matches live.

Одне з перших місць, куди я завітала після переїзду до Києва – це студія радіо “Промінь”, що по вул. Хрещатик, 26. Дуже люблю головну вулицю міста! А її справжньою окрасою вважаю історичну будівлю Головпоштамту, біля якої традиційно призначають зустрічі кияни і гості столиці. Люблю гуляти Андріївським узвозом, який з’єднує стародавній Поділ із центральною частиною міста. На цій вулицімузеї можна придбати сувеніри на будь-який смак і гаманець – від приємних дрібничок на кшталт магнітиків на холодильник до справжніх антикварних шедеврів. На особливу увагу заслуговують автентичні українські сувеніри – рушники й вишиванки. Неподалік узвозу знаходиться набережна, з якої можна вирушити в подорож по Дніпру. Київ – одна з найзеленіших європейських столиць. Місто красиве в будь-яку пору року, але особливо – навесні і влітку, коли вулиці потопають у смарагдовій зелені, цвітуть каштани, розпускається бузок і запаморочливо пахнуть магнолії. Увесь цей розквіт природи можна побачити в одному з ботанічних садів Києва. Щоразу, повертаючись до Києва після гастролей, відчуваю його надзвичайну енергетику. Мені дуже комфортно тут жити. Можливо, тому, що в місті багато церков, які створюють неповторну ауру затишку і спокою. Київ – напрочуд емоційне місто. Здається, воно завжди оберігає тебе і переживає разом із тобою. Найліпший панорамний вид Києва відкривається з оглядових майданчиків Парку Слави та Маріїнського парку. Синя широчінь Дніпра, зелені схили, довершена архітектура – від краєвидів просто перехоплює подих! Під час Євро-2012 дуже багато людей познайомляться з туристичними принадами Києва, відчують душевне тепло і гостинність його мешканців. Я впевнена, що в європейців складеться позитивне враження про нашу древню і вічно молоду столицю!
My personal top tourist attractions in Kiev include the Kiev Pechersk Lavra, Andriivskyi Descent, Mariinskyi Park and the Park of Glory, where the stunning “Motherland” monument is located. Soon after I moved to Kiev, one of the first places I visited was the studios of the Promin Radio Station, located at Khreshchatyk 26. I really love the city’s main street! One of its landmarks is the Central Post Office building, a popular meeting place for both residents and guests of the capital. I enjoy walking down Andriivskyi Descent, which connects ancient Podil to the central part of the city. There are souvenirs to suit any taste or budget – from fridge magnets to rare antiques. It is where you can find the finest Ukrainian “rushnyks” (embroidered decorative towels) and “vyshyvankas” (traditional clothing with ethnic embroidery). Not far from the descent is an embankment, from where you can go for a journey on the Dnipro River. Kiev is one of the greenest European capitals. Beautiful in any season of the year, it is exceptionally photogenic in spring and summer, when the streets are buried in verdure, and the chestnut trees, lilacs and magnolias are in full bloom. To take in this natural beauty, visit the capital’s stunning botanical gardens. Each time I get back to Kiev from concert tours, I feel its incredible energy. This is a very comfortable city for living. This particular atmosphere of cosiness and tranquility is largely due to the capital’s large number of ancient churches and monasteries. Kiev is a very emotional city. It seems to me that it protects its inhabitants and is with us through all the ups and downs of our lives. To take in the dazzling panoramic views of Kiev, head to the Park of Glory and Mariinskyi Park. From there, you can see most of the city’s landmarks. Views of the vast blue expanses of the Dnipro River, green hills and stunning architecture will take your breath away! During Euro 2012, many visitors will have the opportunity to admire Kiev’s landmarks and feel the warmth and hospitality of Kievites. I’m sure that Europeans will take away a positive impression of our ancient and yet eternally youthful capital! PANORAMA № 6 / 2012 / 15

SERGEY BUBKA The world-famous Ukrainian pole-vaulter was born on 4 December 1963. He was the first to clear 6.0 metres and broke the world record for men’s pole-vaulting 35 times. In 1988, Bubka became champion at the Olympic Games in Seoul. He is a member of the International Olympic Committee, Vice President of the International Association of Athletics Federations, and Hero of Ukraine. Bubka is an honorary citizen of Donetsk, Luhansk, Bratislava, Padua, Abano Terme and Rio de Janeiro. A statue of Sergey Bubka resides in Donetsk to honour him. Since 2005, Bubka has been President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine

Щоразу, коли мої закордонні колеги відвідують Музей мініатюри на території Лаври, отримую лише щирі захоплені відгуки. Та візитівкою Києва, безперечно, є наші гостинні й щирі люди. І цьогоріч у цьому зможуть переконатися тисячі вболівальників з усієї Європи. Київ – це місто-парк, місто-храм, місто-музей. Зелені кручі Дніпра, цвіт каштанів на Хрещатику, золоті куполи церков дивують та закохують у себе. Місто гармонійно поєднує в собі стародавню історію та динамізм сучасної європейської столиці, яка стрімко розвивається. Правобережні схили Дніпра – то справжня знахідка для туристів, адже вони є природними оглядовими майданчиками, звідки місто можна побачити з висоти пташиного польоту. Загалом, у Києві безліч куточків, з яких відкривається чудова панорама столиці – це і Маріїнський парк, і Володимирська гірка, і Парк Слави, і меморіальний комплекс Національного музею історії Великої Вітчизняної війни та безліч інших.
У Києві я пережив один із найемоційніших моментів свого життя. Це було в липні 2004-го, коли у перед-

До слова, міжнародні експерти визнали тодішній український етап естафети одним із найкраще організованих та наймасовіших. 120 факелоносців на очах близько мільйона киян і гостей міста пронесли смолоскип з вогнем вулицями столиці, подолавши загальну дистанцію 38 кілометрів 600 метрів. Мені випала честь не тільки бути одним із них, але й запалити чашу Олімпійського вогню. То був великий момент, сповнений гордості за власну державу.

Ukrainians are lucky to have one of Europe’s most beautiful capitals. Kiev is a modern metropolis that manages to keep the spirit of the past centuries at the same time. Guests of the capital are truly amazed by the architecture of Khreshchatyk Street and Maidan Nazalezhnosti (Independence Square), the magnificent St. Michael and St. Sofia Cathedrals, and Kiev Pechersk Lavra. Whenever our foreign guests visit the Miniature Museum, located on the territory of Kiev Pechersk Lavra, I receive only sincerely ecstatic reviews. And Kiev’s trademark is its hospitable and open people. The thousands of football fans from Europe are sure to experience this. Kiev is a park city, a temple city, a museum city. The green hills of the Dnipro River, chestnut blossoms on Khreshchatyk and golden domes of churches are simply amazing – they make you fall in love with them at first sight. Kiev is an ancient city with rich history, but at the same time it is a dynamic European capital that is constantly developing and moving forward. The slopes on the right bank of the Dnipro River are natural viewing platforms where you can have a bird’s-eye view of the city. A lovely panoramic view of Kiev is also available from Mariinskiy Park, St. Volodymyr’s Hill, the Park of Glory and the memorial complex of the National Museum of the Great Patriotic War. And each of them provides a breathtaking view of Kiev, from the embankments of the ancient Podil district up to the green landscapes of Trukhaniv Island. In Kiev, I experienced one of the most emotional moments in my life. In July 2004, on the eve of the XXVIII Olympic Games in Athens, Kiev happened to host the Olympic torch relay. The Ukrainian stage of the torch relay was recognised by international experts as one of the best in terms of organisation and involvement. In front of about a million residents and visitors of Kiev, 120 torch relays carriers carried a torch along the capital’s streets, over the total distance of 38 kilometres and 600 metres. I had the honour of being

Київ продовжує примножувати свою славу спортивного центру європейського й світового значення. Мені пощастило бути одним із тих, хто в квітні 2007 року в Кардіффі виборював для нашої держави право проводити Чемпіонат Європи з футболу 2012. Здобута перемога має величезне значення не лише для спорту, а й для країни загалом, адже допоможе значно прискорити економічний розвиток і сприятиме швидшій євроінтеграції України.
Я пишаюся тим, що наша держава приймає Євро-2012 і, як і більшість моїх співвітчизників, із цікавістю спостерігатиму за перебігом матчів футбольної першості. Вірю, що Чемпіонат стане незабутнім святом як для українців, так і для гостей країни. Тож бажаю усім насолодитися змаганнями, гостинним прийомом та красою нашої держави!

At such moments, you realise that there are such events in our world that can unite all nations and all states with the universal values of mutual respect, friendship, fair play and peace. I see the future of Kiev as a city of healthy, successful and happy people who live actively and with sports in their hearts. I’m sure that our capital will have more facilities for sports, both professional and amateur. Gyms, swimmingpools, cycle tracks and jogging paths, sports grounds in the yards, they all need to be created and must be accessible to everyone. Investing in physical culture and sports, we invest in health, and therefore in the future of our nation.
Kiev has always been, is, and will always be a sporting city
with glorious traditions. It is the hometown of the legendary football club “Dynamo” and handball team “Spartak”. It gave birth to a galaxy of famous Olympic winners, who inscribed their names with golden letters in world history: Nina Bocharova, Borys Shahlin, Valeriy Borzov, Zinaida Turchina, Victor Tsybulenko, Maryna Tkachenko, Anna Bessonova and many others. So it means a lot to me that the city continues to be a sporting centre of European and world importance. I was lucky to be one of those who stood up for our country’s right to host the 2012 European Football Championship in Cardiff back in April 2007. I think this is an important victory for Ukraine, which has enormous significance not only for sports, but also for the country in general. It will help to pave the way for economic development and infrastructure expansion, and will accelerate Ukraine’s European integration. I am proud that our country is hosting Euro 2012 and, as well as the majority of my compatriots, I will be following the football matches with great interest. I believe that the Championship will be a memorable occasion for Ukrainians, as well as for our international guests. The city, which was the first capital of Soviet Ukraine back in 1919-1934, will strike you with its monumentality, grand buildings, broad boulevards and huge squares. This metropolis of 1.5 million is a centre of the aerospace industry, ranking second in Ukraine in terms of scientific importance. Every year, about 33,000 students receive degrees and diplomas in the city’s more than 70 higher educational establishments KHARKOV: TOP-5 Visit theatres and cinemas. Have a walk in the old city centre. Unique mansions from the 19 th century are still preserved on Darwin Street. Nearby, you can find the oldest stone building in the city – the Pokrovsky Cathedral, consecrated in 1689. Check out museums. The Kharkov Historical Museum (Universytetska Str. 5) will familiarise you with the history of the city, while “The Art of Slobozhanshchyna” gallery (Svobody Square 5) will show you works of Kharkov artists. The city also has Ukraine’s only Museum of the sexual cultures of the world (Myronosytska Str. 81A). Cool down in the “Jungle”. This is the name of one of the largest indoor water parks in the country, situated on more than 11,000 square metres, and similar to a tropical oasis (Kyrgyzka Str. 19B; www.jungle.ua). Kharkov fan zone. Opens on 7 June with a concert on Liberty Square, and promises to hold up to 45,000 spectators. 12-гектарну площу Свободи. Колосальний майдан, зведений у 20-х роках минулого століття, вважається шостим за величиною в Європі та одинадцятим – у світі.
У дитинстві одним із моїх улюблених місць у Харкові була дитяча залізниця, яка з’єднує парк імені
Горького з Лісопарком. Ми з друзями любили прогулюватись по рейках і роздивлятися мініатюрні потяги. Із радістю ще раз відвідала б це чарівне місце. На спортивні звершення мене надихало найзвичніше для мене місце – басейн, де я тренувалася. Мене постійно запитують, чи справді вулиця Клочковська, на якій розташований найбільший у місті басейн “Акварена”, названа на мою честь. На жаль, це не так, хоча мені й приємно, що так думають. Насправді, вулиця названа на честь харківського полкового судді XVIII століття Тимофія Клочка, засновника невеличкої слободи Клочківка на околиці міста. Харків асоціюється в мене зі словами свобода, масштаб, родина. Якби я писала роман про Харків, то неодмінно згадала б події часів Другої світової війни. У цей буремний час місто вистояло завдяки мужності й патріотизму харків’ян. З 900 тисяч містян живими залишилися тільки 200 тисяч, і вони доклали колосальних зусиль для відновлення зруйнованого міста.
Харків упевнено набуває рис європейського міста.
Я з радістю спостерігала, як місто змінювалося на краще в процесі підготовки до Євро-2012. Впевнена, що стрімкий розвиток Харкова продовжиться і по завершенні Чемпіонату. Найліпший панорамний вид Харкова відкривається з даху готелю “Харків”. Принаймні, так стверджують фотографи. З фірмових страв української кухні раджу неодмінно скуштувати борщ. Євро-2012 – це наш шанс показати себе світові. Треба догодити всім гостям, а далі – все в наших руках!
To me, the architectural gem of Kharkov is the 12-hectare Liberty Square. Built in the 1920s, this square is considered to be the sixth largest in Europe and eleventh largest in the world. In my childhood, one of my favourite places in Kharkov was the children’s railway that connects Gorky Park with the Forest Park. My friends and I were fond of walking along the rails and looking at the miniature trains. I would happily visit this magical place again. My sporting achievements were inspired by one of the most frequented places in my life – the swimming pool, where I trained. I am constantly asked whether the street Klochkovska, where the city’s biggest swimming pool “Aquarena” is situated, is named in my honour. Unfortunately it is not, though I am pleased when people think so. In fact, this street is named in honour of a regiment judge Tymothy Klochko, who lived in the XVIII century and founded a small settlement, Klochkivka, on the outskirts of the city. I associate Kharkov with the words freedom, opportunity and family. If I wrote a novel about Kharkov, I would certainly mention the events of World War II. In this turbulent time, the city only survived due to the courage and patriotism of its citizens. Only 200,000 people survived, from 900,000 who had lived in the city before, and they made enormous efforts to restore the destroyed city. Kharkov is confidently acquiring characteristics of European cities. I have been watching with satisfaction how the city
has been changing while preparing for Euro 2012. I am sure the process of the rapid development of Kharkov will continue after the end of the Championship. The best panoramic view of the city is available from the roof of the hotel “Kharkov”. At least, the photographers claim it to be so. Among the specialties of Ukrainian cuisine I would certainly recommend that you try borsch. Euro 2012 is our chance to show ourselves to the world. “Донбас-Арена”. А ще дуже люблю набережну річки Кальміус – вона надає місту особливого шарму. Одним із найдорожчих для мене місць у Донецьку є Палац спорту “Динамо”, де я робила перші кроки в спорті. Щоразу, коли там буваю, відчуваю шалену ностальгію. Пригадуються перші сльози й перші перемоги, а ще мрія стати чемпіонкою, яка не дозволила здатись. Там досі працюють і мій перший тренер Лілія Пугачова, і мій улюблений хореограф Світлана Дубова. Теплі спогади у мене викликає також парк ім. Щербакова, куди я в дитинстві на вихідних їздила з мамою і бабусею кататися на гойдалках.
У Донецьку я народилася і сформувалася як особистість. При цьому Київ мені став теж близьким – хоча б
тому, що це рідне місто моїх дітей. Я досить часто буваю в Донецьку, там живе багато рідних і близьких мені людей. Намагаюся підтримувати стосунки зі своїми тренерами – без них я б не стала тим, ким є зараз. Донбас завжди славився талановитими людьми. Я пишаюся, що моє рідне місто подарувало світові таких видатних особистостей, як Сергій Бубка, Поліна Астахова, Вадим Писарєв, Анатолій Солов’яненко... Зі страв української кухні, яку я дуже шаную, раджу спробувати борщ з пампушками і вареники з вишнями. А ще обов’язково випийте узвар!

The contemporary symbol of Donetsk is for me the stunning “Donbass Arena” Stadium. I also like the embankment of the river Kalmius; it gives the city its special charm. One of the dearest places for me in the city is the “Dynamo” Sports Palace, where I took my first steps in sport. Every time I go there I feel nostalgic. I remember my first tears and first victories, as well as my cherished dream to become a champion, not allowing me to give up. My first coach Lilia Pugacheva and my favourite choreographer Svitlana Dubova are still working there. I have warm memories of the Shcherbakov Central Park, too. As a child, I often went there on the weekends with my mother and grandmother. I was born and grew up in Donetsk, this is where my personality was shaped. Nevertheless, Kiev has become close to me too, because this is the hometown of my children. I visit Donetsk quite often; a lot of my family is there. I try to maintain relationships with my coaches; without them I would not have become the person I am today. Donbass has always been famous for its talented people.
I am proud that my hometown has given such prominent figures as Sergey Bubka, Pauline Astakhova, Vadym Pysarev and Anatoliy Solovyanenko to the world. Among the specialities of Ukrainian cuisine, I would advise that you try borsch with small buns and dumplings with cherries. And certainly try uzvar, a special drink of stewed fruit!

The Ukrainian government is planning to apply for the city to host the Winter Olympic Games 2022, with this stadium considered the potential main arena. Treat yourself to the finest Lvov chocolate in the “Lvov Chocolate Workshop” (Serbska Str. 3), at the “Lvov Confectionery” (Staroevreiska Str. 3) and “Svitoch” confectioners. Those looking for something unusual may try lard in chocolate in the “Pid Klepsydroyu” café (Virmenska Str. 35). Lvov fan zone. Spectators will be entertained by musical performances on days celebrating the cultures of different European countries. Souvenir stalls located there are simply unmissable.

Засновник, незмінний лідер і автор більшості пісень найуспішнішого українського рок-гурту “Океан Ельзи”. Кандидат фізикоматематичних наук (захистив кандидатську дисертацію на тему “Суперсиметрія електронів у магнітному полі”). Виграв і передав на доброчинність один мільйон гривень у телешоу “Перший мільйон” – вперше за історію цієї програми в Україні. Автор двох сольних проектів – “Вночі” та “Брюссель”
SVIATOSLAV VAKARCHUK This famous Ukrainian singer and composer was born on 14 May 1975 close to Lvov, and made this Euro 2012 host city his home at an early age. The founder, frontman and songwriter of Ukraine’s most successful rock band “Okean Elzy”, Sviatoslav also has a degree in theoretical physics (he successfully defended his thesis on “Supersymmetry of electrons in a magnetic field”). Vakarchuk became the first celebrity winner of the Ukrainian version of “Who Wants to Be a Millionnaire?”, and gave all the money to charity. Additionally, he is the creator of two solo musical projects – “Vnochi” and “Brussels”

historic centre of the city is literally permeated with the spirit of different ages and times. Lvov awes with its powerful energy. To me, the most inspirational place is the Armenian Church – it always fills me with ideas.
If you are looking for the best of Ukraine confectionery, Lvov is just the place to go. In the field of sweet
traditions, it can well compete with Vienna. Austrian strudel always “belonged” in Lvov in any case. Local citizens have known what it tastes like since their childhood. And then there’s the cake, called “Syrnyk”. It looks similar to American cheesecake, but the taste has nothing in common.
Numerous pastry and chocolate shops have become an integral part of the city. For a tasty lunch in Lvov, I recommend the “Amadeus” restaurant. It is located in the city centre, near the Chapel of the Boim family. It has an exquisite chamber interior, in old Austrian style, and excellent cuisine. Whenever I come to Lvov, I always meet with my friends there. The “Odynychka” café (“Café 1”), which is situated nearby, is also a very cosy meeting place. Lvov is a fascinating city. Do you want to know what is
especially worth seeing in Lvov? Everything! Europeans will be amazed by many untouched and thus authentic works of the Baroque and Renaissance epoch, which have tended to disappear in other parts of Europe. These old houses still retain their original charm. PANORAMA № 6 / 2012 / 23

Then you’ll discover that the country has a population of 45 million people, with an expanding middle-class, and is a country where historical foreign and direct investment figures are significantly lower than like countries (i.e. there is value to be captured by investors). Then you’ll ask yourself why you haven’t invested in Ukraine until now, and then look into ways to do so. This is a common thought process which so-often stops right there. Why? Because you will go back home, carry out some research, scratch the surface a little and then discover that what lies beneath is not quite as rosy as what you had first depicted. ‘The country is unbelievably corrupt’. ‘There is too much red-tape and bureaucracy’. ‘Trying to get anything done in Ukraine is just too difficult’. ‘The tax authorities seem to be constantly harassing businesses for no good cause’. ‘There’s too much political uncertainty right now’. These are just a few of the criticisms that you will likely come across. But it really need not end there. Yes, the business environment in Ukraine is challenging, but that’s the same for many countries across the globe right now. In addition, every country has gone through something like this at some point or another in its history. And, if you play your cards right, investing in a country in times like this, when valuations are down and where your bargaining strength is high, could well turn out to be a sensible decision for the medium and long-term. This country really does seem to have it all. It has smart and educated people, significant natural resources (ranging from agriculture to oil and gas), increasing disposable wealth; i.e. all the ingredients to make Ukraine extremely interesting. Few people doubt that Ukraine’s potential is huge in the medium to longterm. The problem is the short-term. The issue therefore is how best to protect your investment until things get better - as the investment environment in Ukraine will improve in time, as so many countries which were once in similar positions have proved. The good news is that there are plenty of ways to reduce risk in the short-term. Firstly, risk levels will no doubt be reflected in the form of higher discount factors, leading in
turn to lower valuations (i.e. bargains can be found – especially given that some companies are on the market for a quick sale). Secondly, transactions can be structured offshore (Cyprus, Netherlands, British Virgin Islands are common jurisdictions) so that if something goes wrong later down the line, then any dispute with a seller will be resolved outside of Ukraine (thereby avoiding having to resolve the dispute in a local court). Thirdly, transactions can be structured so that funds are channelled via countries which (i) reduce tax liability to the minimum and (ii) have an appropriate ‘Bi-lateral Investment Treaty’ in place with Ukraine (bi-lateral investment treaties are inter-governmental treaties which afford foreign investors certain rights, such as the right to be treated fairly and equitably, the right not to have assets misappropriated without payment of adequate compensation, the right to repatriate dividends and sales proceeds, etc – the advantage of bi-lateral investment treaties is that an investor can sue the Government directly (in an arbitral tribunal outside of Ukraine) should there be a breach of the applicable investment treaty). Fourthly, investors can team-up with strong and prominent local entrepreneurs or businesses, or invest in companies which, although headquartered in Ukraine, are, in reality, deriving most of their revenue abroad. These are just a few ways to minimise risk – there are many more. So please don’t just scratch the surface and run away at the first challenge that pops up. The opportunity in this country is enormous – and with the right structuring and advice, you will hopefully plant the seeds for what may well turn out to be one of your best investments yet.

Патрісія Каас народилася 5 грудня 1966 року в містечку Форбаш на кордоні Франції й Німеччини в родині шахтаря. Батьки заохочували захоплення доньки співом. У вісім років Каас вже виконувала пісні Сільві Вартан, Даліди, Клода Франсуа й Мірей Матьє. На великій сцені Патрісія дебютувала в гурті Black Flowers (“Чорні квіти”) у дев’ятирічному віці. А вже через чотири роки юна співачка виграла конкурс й уклала семирічний контракт з клубом-кабаре Rumpelkammer. У 1985 році талантом Патрісії зацікавився французький актор Жерар Депардьє. Він спонсорував перший сингл Каас Jalouse (“Ревнива”). 1988 рік ознаменувався виходом дебютного альбому співачки Mademoiselle chante le blues (“Мадмуазель співає блюз”), який приніс їй шалений успіх. n March 2012, Patricia Kaas visited Ukraine to receive the International Award of the national programme “Person of the Year 2011”. UIA was proud to be the official air carrier of the event, and thanks to it, Ukrainian journalists had the chance to chat with the celebrity about her life and work.
Lady sings the blues
Patricia Kaas was born on 5 December 1966 into the family of a miner in the town of Forbach, near the German border. Her parents encouraged her passion for singing from an early age. At the age of eight, Kaas was already doing numbers by Sylvie Vartan, Dalida, Claude François and Mireille Mathieu. Patricia made her debut on the big stage, in the group Black Flowers, when she was only nine. Four years later, the young singer won the contest, and signed a contract with the clubcabaret Rumpelkammer. In 1985, Patricia’s talent was noticed by famous French actor Gérard Depardieu, who sponsored her first single Jalouse. The year 1988 was marked by the appearance of Patricia’s debut album Mademoiselle chante le blues, which brought great success to the chanteuse. Kaas became the first French singer to sell over 1 million copies of her first three albums. Today, she has eight albums, seven international tours and numerous charity concerts to her name. — Patricia, our congratulations on receiving the honorary award! Share your feelings on this fantastic achievement. — Having learned from my Ukrainian colleagues about this award, I thought, “Why? What have I done for this?” I was very pleased to receive the recognition, not for one particular song, but for achievement in general; this means appreciation of me not only as a singer, but also as an individual. I want to thank my Ukrainian fans for being with me all these years. I love your country very much and appreciate your love of my work. — The song Mademoiselle chante le blues became the hit of the decade. Did you expect such success? — This song lit up the radio and television immediately – it was played everywhere! But I expected something different from the experience and I was not completely satisfied with just blanket exposure. Singing for me means my coming on stage, entertaining the audience, sharing my emotions – my ambition is to become as great as Édith Piaf, Marlene Dietrich, Liza Minnelli.

Я вперше стала співпродюсером власної платівки і вдячна Філу за його слова: “Нехай вона буде такою, як ти захочеш”. Я самостійно відібрала 50 пісень різних авторів і брала безпосередню участь в аранжуваннях і мікшуванні звуку. — У 2009 році ви брали участь у “Євробаченні”. Чи слідкуєте ви зараз за цим пісенним конкурсом? — Для мене “Євробачення” тривало десять днів і виявилося неймовірно напруженим: всі ці зустрічі, вечірки… Я не перемогла, мабуть, тому, що пісня була надто французька й повільна. Та головне, що я залишилась собою. Дуже вдячна всім, хто мене підтримав. Особливо рідній Франції, яка була разом зі мною. До речі, саме після моєї участі у конкурсі французи зацікавилися “Євробаченням”.

— Which of your albums is particularly dear to you? — This would be the album Dans ma chair, which was recorded in New York in 1995 together with renowned producer Phil Ramon. For the first time, I became a coproducer on my own album, and I am very grateful to Phil for his words, “Let it be as you like”. I selected 50 songs by various authors on my own, and participated directly in their arrangement and even sound mixing. — In 2009, you took part in the Eurovision Contest, on behalf of France. Do you watch this song contest now? — For me, Eurovision lasted ten days and was incredibly intense: all those meetings, parties… I did not win because my song was, perhaps, too slow and too French. But the most important thing is that I remained myself. I am very grateful to those who supported me – especially my native France, which was with me in every note. By the way, after my participation in the contest, the French became really interested in Eurovision.

Саме тому Академічна рада премії “Людина року” відзначила, зокрема, і благодійну діяльність Патрісії. У 2002 році співачка дебютувала як актриса у фільмі Клода Лелуша And Now... Ladies and Gentlemen (“А зараз… пані та панове”). Отже, професійних здобутків у житті Патрісії не бракує. А от із особистим поки що не склалось. Каас приписували роман з Аленом Делоном, серед захоплень співачки називали також британського режисера Джеремі Айронса, бельгійського режисера Філіпа Бергмана та паризького шефкухаря Яніка Аллено, котрі, здається, так і не змогли змиритися з шаленою популярністю французької зірки.

— Ви завжди чудово виглядаєте! Поділитеся вашим секретом краси? — Не приховуватиму, що з віком мені доводиться використовувати більше косметики. (Усміхається). Хоча на догляд я гаю не надто багато часу, бо знаю, що краса йде зсередини. Правда, бувають моменти, коли дивлюсь на себе в дзеркало і думаю: “О, Боже! Все погано!” (Сміється). Але загалом у своєму віці почуваюсь радісно і щасливо.
— Your appearance is always perfect! Can you share your beauty secrets? — I will not conceal the fact that getting older, I have to use more cosmetics (smiles). Though, I do not spend too much time on my appearance because I know that beauty comes from within. Of course, there are moments when I look in the mirror and think, “Oh, God! Everything is bad!” (laughs). But in general, I feel really joyful and happy at my age.

The French consider Patricia Kaas a cultural ambassador for their country. After all, it was she who succeeded in waking up worldwide interest in French chanson once more, back in the 1990s. In 1993, as part of the tour in support of her album Je te dis vous, Kaas gave a concert to a crowd of 30,000 and donated the income to supporting victims of the Chernobyl accident. That is why the Academic Council of the Award “Person of the Year” noted her charitable activities. In 2002, the singer made her debut as an actress in the film by Claude Lelouch And Now… Ladies and Gentlemen. So, Patricia does not want for professional achievements. But she has not found lasting happiness in her personal life as of yet. Patricia was reported to have had an affair with famous actor Alain Delon, and the press have also speculated on the British star Jeremy Irons, Belgian director Philip Bergman and Parisian star chef Yannick Alléno as those among her infatuations.

— Без чого не можете обійтись у подорожах? — Часто беру з собою свічки та кілька кімнатних аксесуарів, щоб “одомашнити” інтер’єр номера. А ще завжди маю баночку розчинної кави, щоб бадьоро розпочати ранок. Також зі мною завжди подорожує моя улюблениця – болонка Текіла. — Шанувальники у всьому світі з нетерпінням чекають на вихід вашої біографії. Чому ви врешті зважилися розповісти про особисте? — Мене довгий час просили написати книгу. Але раніше я не була готова відкрити читачам сокровенне… Та одного разу особиста невлаштованість збіглася з черговою пропозицією написати книгу. Друзі кажуть: пиши, це стане для тебе певною терапією. До мене прийшла журналістка, котрій я сповідалася, напевне, протягом 50 годин. Плакала, розповідаючи такі речі, про які навіть мої рідні не знали. А потім ще упродовж місяця редагувала текст. — Зараз ви працюєте над виставою “Каас співає Піаф” і навіть обіцяєте показати її у грудні в Києві... — Так, я дуже шаную Едіт Піаф і буду співати її пісні, але у своїй манері. Цю виставу побачать у багатьох столицях світу, у тому числі і в Києві. Її ідея визрівала давно, та раніше я була не готова побудувати виступ повністю на піснях Піаф. Тепер я вже доросла жінка, яка побачила багато чого в житті. Дотепер моє особисте життя складалось не так, як хотілося б, але я вірю, що дуже скоро доля обов’язково подарує мені особливу зустріч.
“Краса йде зсередини” “Beauty comes from within”
— What do you take with you when travelling? — I often take a few candles and room accessories with me in order to “domesticate” the hotel room. And I always have a tin of instant coffee so as to start the morning with a burst of energy. My pet dog Tequila always travels with me too! — Your fans around the world are looking forward to the appearance of your biography. Why did you finally decide to spill your secrets? — I have been asked for a long time to write a book, but felt I was not ready… And then failures in my private life coincided with another proposal to write a book. My friends told me to give it a try, as it would be a kind of therapy for me. A journalist came to me and I confessed everything to her, probably for 50 hours. I cried telling her those things that even my family didn’t know. And then, I was editing the text for a whole month. — You are working now on the show Kaas Sings Piaf, and you have promised to perform it in December in Kiev… — Yes, I have great respect for Edith Piaf and I will sing her songs, but in my own manner. This show will be performed in many world capitals, including Kiev. The idea has been ripening for a long time. Before, I wasn’t ready to give my performance based solely on the songs of Piaf. Now, I am an adult woman who has seen a lot in her life. So far, my personal life has not been the one I would have wished for, but I believe that one day my destiny will reveal itself.

анте писав тут свою “Божественну комедію”, Бернард Шоу називав хорватський Дубровник “раєм на землі”, а на острові Корчула народився легендарний мандрівник Марко Поло. Певно, є щось особливе у Хорватії, якщо вона так надихає! Країна за свою багатовікову історію побувала під владою Угорщини, Австрії, Італії та Туреччини. Розмаїття культури стало візитівкою Хорватії, втілившись у мальовничій архітектурі, традиціях та звичаях. Сюди варто їхати не лише за чудовим морським відпочинком, але й для яскравих вражень від різноманітних екскурсійних програм.
Підняти вітрила!
Знайомство з країною ми розпочали із морської подорожі. Хорватське узбережжя простягнулося на вражаючі 5950 кілометрів. 1185 островів, острівців, хребтів та скель країни розташовані на відстані не більше 18 кілометрів від берега. Саме тому Далматське узбережжя вважається однією з найцікавіших ділянок Середземномор’я для яхтингу. До того ж, Адріатичне море – напрочуд спокійне. Тут не буває великих хвиль та сильних морських течій. Вода, температура якої і взимку не опускається нижче 16 градусів за Цельсієм, вражає прозорістю і проглядається аж на 50 метрів углиб. Додайте до цього десятки затишних марин та намисто мальовничих містечок на узбережжі – і вуаля, маємо справжній рай для плавання під вітрилами або на моторних човнах. Під час морської подорожі пейзаж весь час змінюється. На півночі – на островах Крк, Раб чи Паг, – береги майже пусті, їхній вигляд свідчить про вікову боротьбу із зимовими бурями. Південні береги, навпаки, густо вкриті лісами, які насичують повітря ароматом піній. Одне з найпопулярніших місць для яхтингу – Шибенська акваторія. Тут 240 островів та рифів, кожен зі своєю цікавинкою. На Зларіні можна навідатися в гості до найвідоміших збирачів коралів на Адріатиці, а на Крапані дізнатися більше про нелегке ремесло ловців морських губок. Якщо ж захотілося чогось справді неймовірного, гайда у відкрите море, на Корнатські острови. There must be something special about this inspiring country! In its long history, the country was at various times under the dominion of Hungary, Austria, Italy and Turkey. Multiculturalism has become the visiting card of Croatia, being embodied in the beautiful architecture, traditions and customs. You go here both for a wonderful holiday by the coast, and for the many sights both of man-made and natural beauty.
Sail Away
Our acquaintance with the country starts with a fine run by the sea. The Croatian coast stretches for an impressive 5,950 km, with 1185 islands, islets, ridges and cliffs located at a distance of around 18 kilometres off the shore. That’s one of the reasons why the Dalmatia coast is one of the most interesting areas for Mediterranean yachting. Also, the Adriatic Sea is surprisingly quiet with no big waves or strong currents. The temperature doesn’t fall below 16 degrees Celsius, even in winter, so the water always impresses with its clarity and visibility, up to 50 metres deep. Also, imagine dozens of cosy marinas and a necklace of picturesque towns on the coast – a real paradise for sailing and motor vessels. During our sea trip, the landscape is constantly changing – the banks of the northern islands of Krk, Rab and Pag are almost empty, their appearance indicates they’ve been struggling with winter storms for a while. The south coast, on the contrary, is densely covered with forests, which saturate the air with their pine scent. One of the most popular destinations for yachting is the Šibenik water area. It consists of 240 islands and reefs; each of them with its own attractions. In Zlarini, you can visit the most famous collection of corals on the Adriatic, in Krapani, you’ll get to know more about the difficult craft of marine sponge hunters. If you’re there for something really incredible, go to the open sea towards the Kornati Islands. George Bernard Shaw described them such: “The gods wanted to crown their creation, so on the last day, Kornati were made of star tears and sea breath.” This plentiful cluster of islands of the Mediterranean Sea includes exactly the same number as days in a year – 365!
The Split area, right on the coast, attracts tourists with its historical beauty: it contains Hvar, an island of the sun and lavender, historical Split and dozens of smaller, picturesque islands. The Dubrovnik area is rightfully considered one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean. Drop your anchor near the fortified walls of Dubrovnik, built in the 14 th century, and visit the ancient Korčula, which looks like some magical fairytale city, or just enjoy the blue of the sea around the Elaphiti islands.
Theatre City
Swimming and sunbathing in Croatia are easily combined with a rich cultural programme. In summer, the country hosts many festivals and holidays – the diversity is impressive: from historical, theatrical and musical to events such as Night of Bats or Night of Falling Stars. Another venue for performances and concerts is the medieval castles on the islands of Hvar and Rijeka. As well as this, the summer festivals in Split and Dubrovnik last more than a month – from mid June to late August. Every day, the old streets are transformed into theatrical stages and symphonic or operatic arias are performed, historic streets and buildings echoing to their sounds. Another colourful event is the Festival of Knight Games, held in July in Korčula. You can marvel at thrilling action such as a fighting dance with 16 th century knights’ swords. Rabí Castle just can’t do without jousts on 25-27 July; it’s the castle where the medieval festival in honour of St. James, Ante and Christopher takes place. Those fond of folklore and handicrafts are welcome to visit the towns of Koprivnica, Đurđevac and Križevci, where in June special traditional festivals are held. A unique festival of dance and non-verbal theatre will take place in Svetvinčenat over 20-24 July. Fans of contemporary music will enjoy the T-mobile INmusic festival in Zagreb on 28-30 June. This year, such musical giants as Franz Ferdinand and The Cranberries are performing. At the same time, the island of Pag, called the mini-Ibiza of Croatia, hosts the Hideout Festival of electronic music (29 June – 1 July). PANORAMA № 6 / 2012 / 39

Croatian cuisine is rich in seafood and dishes easy to prepare. As a rule, it is something grilled with salt and rosemary sprigs, the Croats believe it’s the only way to feel the real taste of fish. Another local secret is their special method of cooking with olive oil, which provides a unique taste to everything, even standard sardines. Most of the fish restaurants have their own boat for fishing, thus guaranteeing perfect freshness of produce. Overall, you’ll find the prices pretty palatable too. North of the country specialises in meat delicacies. Slavonia is famous for fried or stewed pork and veal, often in tomato sauce, fish paprikash and plentiful domestic sausages and ham. A special delicacy is pršut, a dry-cured ham smoked over charcoal and dried in the sun. It is often served with sheep cheese in olive oil, another typical dish of Croatian cuisine. And, of course, no meal is complete without olives. Whether sun-dried or marinated, with or without spices, they are always on the table. Croatian wine is worth special attention, as it numbers 700 kinds! Šibenik specialises in “Babich”, in Istria they drink Alvazia wine, Momjan Muškat and ruby Teran, which even caught the fancy of Casanova himself! When in Zadar, have a glass of their famous local liqueur from maraschino cherries, watching the incredible sunset, which the great Alfred Hitchcock himself used to admire.

Authors of the Cook and Camera project invite everyone to spend a culinary weekend in the picturesque Alps, at 1450 metres above sea level. Comfortable cottages near the town of Martigny in the canton of Valais will accommodate participants of a three-day cooking course. They will learn the secrets of European and Asian cuisine and also make photo masterpieces from their dishes. Famous photographer Tim Burgess will impart the essence of food photoshooting with the students, with cooking and his classes alternating with yoga training. The idea of organising such an eclectic pastime belongs to chef Julien Loppasher, who is Swiss-Indonesian by birth. She is keen on yoga and an energy-balanced vegetarian cuisine. The tour fee for a group of five and upwards is €990 per person for a double room. The Ritz Escoffier school, under Ritz Paris, is the apotheosis of chic, just like the hotel itself, which has been beautifying Place Vendôme since 1898. Here even a short course for amateurs is dedicated not so much to French cuisine, as to its most exquisite aspects. The school was named in honour of Auguste Escoffier – the legendary first chef of L’Espadon restaurant, who asserted that “mastery of cooking is the basis of true happiness”. This very concept is what inspires Michel Roth – the holder of five Michelin stars, current chef of the restaurant and creator of the school’s study programme. In Ritz Escoffier, you’ll learn to cook truffles in two hours and light and healthy dishes from the fitness menu in three hours. However, it will take two full days to become proficient in baking Viennese pastry. The shortest course takes just a lunch break – from 1pm to 2pm. Having followed the course at Bologna Buongusto culinary school situated in Bologna, you’ll understand that Italian cooking is no joke. Seriously, you’re not going to see any shows for tourists – only authentic Bolognese dishes, as locals believe that these culinary traditions are the basis for all staple meals in Italy, from pasta to pizza. General classes include preparing pasta, appetizers, main courses and desserts. In addition, the school will reveal the secrets of successful purchases at grocery markets and give you their own interpretations of classic dishes – all under chef direction, of course. During a week of intensive study, you’ll learn not only basic recipes, but also the principles of compatibility and combining dishes with wine. The culinary workshop for beginners lasts three hours and costs only €39. Finland: Wild Fowl and Salmon
Finnish guests are able to go up a notch in their culinary skills, by attending workshops on cooking Finnish and Scandinavian cuisine at the Helsinki Institute of Cooking. The establishment of such a serious title was opened in the very heart of Helsinki, near Diana Park, in 1994. Although the Institute has the status of excellent restaurant, learning culinary wisdom progresses in a friendly atmosphere. Lessons are conducted by Finnish chef Gero Hottinger, and visiting chefs from all over the country. The training programme varies depending on the season: in summer students learn to cook dishes with berries, mushrooms, crayfish and feathered fowl, in autumn – hare and elk meat, in winter – venison and root crops. Although the British are known throughout the world as tea devotees, for over two decades London has been home to one of the most famous barista (professional coffee-making) schools in Europe – London School of Coffee. Here everyone who wishes to become a master of the bean business will be familiarised with all the subtleties of “coffee-mania”, from the cultivation and processing of beans to starting your own café. Experienced teachers will instruct you in telling a coffee sort by its taste and flavour, skillfully making an espresso and its different variations (ristretto, lungo, coretto etc.) and even decorating milk foam on the top of lattes and cappuccinos with nice pictures (course from €110 for four hours). Get ready to be awake for a while, because you’ll have to drink a lot of coffee! One day of the basic course costs €220, the advanced one – up to €260. The Mystetskyi Arsenal in Kiev hosts the First Kiev Biennale of Contemporary Art “ARSENALE 2012”. UIA is the official carrier for this milestone event. Through to 30 July, residents and guests of the capital will have the opportunity to appreciate artworks from 100 of the most brilliant stars of the global art scene. In addition to the main exhibition, the programme includes 45 different projects taking place at art galleries across Kiev and other cities all over the country. UIA was the official carrier of the Ukrainian delegation, representing Ukraine’s film industry at the Marché du Film, in the 65th International Film Festival held in Cannes from 16-26 May. This year, Ukraine was represented at the festival for the fifth time. “Throughout its almost 20-year long history, UIA has regularly partnered various social and cultural projects, lending support to the attendants of landmark international events representing Ukraine internationally. Such activity is an integral part of the social policy of the airline,” informs Evgeniya Satska, UIA Corporate Press Secretary. “In 2012, we carried the representatives of Ukraine to Berlin to attend the famous Berlinale. Комп’ютери будуть передані Фонтанській школі-інтернату для хлопчиків, школі-інтернату №7, інтернатам №4 і №5. Для закупівлі техніки було використано кошти компанії “Амадеус”, а доставку обладнання за маршрутом Мадрид – Київ – Одеса здійснила авіакомпанія МАУ. У рамках благодійного проекту навчальним закладам було передано також 20 сертифікатів на навчання випускників роботі в системі онлайнбронювання Amadeus. Для вихованців інтернатів цей подарунок може стати квитком у життя, адже молоді люди, які пройдуть навчання, матимуть змогу отримати затребувану професію менеджера з продажу авіаквитків. Amadeus and Ukraine International Airlines handed over 20 computers to UAC Ukraine Fund, which will be used for schooling orphans and underprivileged children of Odessa. These computers will be transferred to Fontanskaya Boarding School for Boys, boarding school №7, and foster homes №4 and №5. The units were purchased with Amadeus money resources, while Ukraine International Airlines delivered the equipment en route, Madrid – Kiev – Odessa. As part of the philanthropic project, 20 Amadeus online booking system training certificates were handed over to the graduates of foster homes. These gifts will greatly enhance their chances of building a stable life for themselves. Those completing the training will have the opportunity of a rewarding profession as ticket sales manager. Lending assistance to the orphanages of Odessa and Odessa Region for over 17 years, and dealing with issues of orphans and under-privileged children’s life management in the outside world, UAC Ukraine Fund assisted Amadeus and UIA in the project implementation. “Corporate social responsibility is one of the company’s priorities,” notes Aleksey Murovtsev, Amadeus Ukraine General Manager. “We hope the charitable project implemented jointly with UIA will help children to receive a good education, to become travel industry professionals, and to develop the tourism industry in Odessa.” “UIA regularly partners various social projects as the official carrier of Ukrainian delegations and sports teams, and carries out the professional delivery of every cargo imaginable – from stage sets to exotic animals,” reports Evgeniya Satska, UIA Corporate Press Secretary. “Jointly with our partners, Amadeus and UAC Ukraine Fund, we are glad to take part in this hugely worthwhile project, and to provide children deprived of parental care with the opportunity to complete training using modern equipment, to receive high-quality education, and to choose their future profession. МИТНI ТА IММIГРАЦIЙНI ПРАВИЛА Перетин кордону. В аеропорту “Бориспіль” діє спрощена схема митного контролю – пасажири самостійно вирішують, декларувати їм товари чи ні.
ЗЕЛЕНИЙ КОРИДОР
Резиденти та нерезиденти мають право скористатися “зеленим коридором” без заповнення митної деклаpації, якщо вони:
1. НЕ МАЮТЬ:
• Готівки, що належить юридичній особі. • Банківських металiв. • Зброї, вибухових, наркотичних, психотропних,
отруйних, сильнодіючих речовин та ліків.
• Радіоактивних матеріалів. • Предметів старовини і миcтецтва, музичних
інструментів.
• Друкованих видань, аудіо- та аудіовізуальних
матеріалів, інших носіїв інформації.
• Об’єктів флори, фауни, їх частин і одержаної з
них продукції.
• Товарів в обсягах, що підлягають оподат-
кувaнню (з умовами оподаткування Ви можете ознайомитися на стендах у залі отримання багажу) (для відльоту).
2. МАЮТЬ НЕ БІЛЬШЕ:
• Готівки – еквівалент €10 000, у тому числі валюти
України та дорожних чеків (відліт і приліт).
• Горілчаних виробів – 1 літр; вина – 2 літри;
пива – 5 літрів; тютюнових виробів – 200 цигарок (або 200 г); продуктів харчування для власного споживання – на суму €50, крім продукції тваринного походження (приліт).

Червоний коридор
При вивезенні резидентами/нерезидентами України суми, що перевищує зазначені норми, але не більш як €10 000 або еквівалента цієї суми в іншій валюті, потрібно заповнювати митну декларацію. Ви маєте заповнити митну декларацію, якщо ввозите в Україну національну валюту в сумі, що перевищує в еквіваленті €10 000 євро, але, згідно з митними правилами, вона не повинна перевищувати тiєї суми в гривнях, що була вивезена раніше з України на законних підставах. Також фізичні особи мають право ввозити і вивозити з України банківські метали вагою не більше 500 г у вигляді зливків і монет за письмового декларування. Якщо вага банківських металів перевищує 500 г,
фізичні особи мають право вивозити їх за межі України на підставі індивідуальної ліцензії та на умовах письмового декларування. Також треба вносити в митну декларацію всі речі, що підлягають декларуванню. По детальнiшу інформацію звертайтеся на офіційний сайт Державної митної служби України www.customs.gov.ua
Імміграційні правила. Громадяни ЄС, Швей-
царської Конфедерації, Князівства Ліхтенштейн, Князівства Андорра, Князівства Монако, Держави-міста Ватикан, Республіки Ісландія, Королівства Норвегія, Республіки Сан-Марино, США, Канади та Японії мають право безвізового в’їзду в Україну за умови перебування в країні не більш як 90 днів та за пред’явлення лише чинного паспорта (Увага! Будь-які інші посвідчення та документи не дають права на в’їзд!) Решта іноземних громадян для в’їзду на територію України повинні мати ВІЗУ. При в’їзді в Україну іноземні громадяни мають заповнити імміграційну картку, яку можна отримати в залі прибуття аеропорту “Бориспіль”. Імміграційна картка разом з паспортом подається посадовцеві органів охорони державного кордону під час проходження паспортного контролю.
УВАГА! Зберігайте імміграційну картку протягом усього часу перебування в Українi, адже при вiдльотi вас попросять її пред’явити.

Red Channel
Residents and non-residents must declare any cash sum to be taken out in excess of the above-mentioned figures. A Customs declaration form must also be filled in if you bring in more than €10,000 or the equivalent in national currency. Sums brought into Ukraine may not exceed the amount of local currency previously taken out of the country. Persons have a right to bring in or take out of Ukraine up to 500 grammes in precious metals (ingots or coins), provided they fill in a declaration form. Precious metals exceeding 500 grammes, may be taken through Ukrainian Customs only when the

All liquids, gels and sprays in your hand baggage must be in individual containers with a maximum capacity of 100 millilitres each. You must pack these containers in one transparent, re-sealable plastic bag of not more than one litre capacity per passenger (see image above).
ADDITIONALLY one of these items can be carried on board: • 1 ladies handbag or briefcase; • 1 umbrella or walking stick; • 1 overcoat; • 1 small camera or video camera; • 1 portable computer; • 1 pair of crutches; • a reasonable amount of reading material.
Restrictions are imposed on water and other drinks, soups, syrups; creams, lotions and oils; perfumes; sprays; gels, including hair and shower gels; pressurised container contents, including; shaving foam, other foams
and deodorants; pastes, including toothpaste; liquid-solid mixtures; mascara; any other item of similar consistency. Passengers still can: • pack liquids in checked baggage; • carry in hand luggage medicines and dietary requirements, including baby foods, for use during the trip; • buy liquids such as drinks and perfumes either in an EU airport shop when located beyond the point where you show your boarding pass or on board an aircraft operated by an EU airline. If they are sold in a specially sealed bag, do not open it before you are screened – otherwise the contents may be confiscated at the checkpoint. All these liquids are in addition to the quantities in the re-sealable plastic bag mentioned above (1 litre maximum).
