Hello Everyone, Welcome to month three! I hope you have been doing well. You should be proud; Regional Training Conferences were really good and divisional progress has been steaming along. These last weeks of the school year are very important. Establishing good contact with your clubs now will allow for the start of the year to be much smoother. Keeping in touch through the summer is often underrated, for it can be the best time for you to grow your relationships with your officers. Encourage summer events. Have clubs reach out to one another. Make sure officers can get in touch with you whenever they need your help. I cannot wait for ICON, and I imagine most of you cannot either. For those of you not coming, you will be sorely missed. Remember, the executive board and I are here for you if you ever need help for anything.

Yours in caring and service,

GATC was amazing. The district governors this year are all fantastic. I am looking forward to introducing them all to you at ICON. More importantly, I learned a lot about what I can do as governor, and how we can work together as a district board to do great. Stay tuned for our next board meeting, because I have a host of new ideas to work with. For those of you going to ICON next year, know that San Antonio is great. It’s really hot. I love the Alamo.

Me

ICON is officially less than a month away! Remember that your final payment, along with your notarized medical form is due postmarked by tomorrow, June 5th. Let me know if you need any help with this. Additionally, Kacie Hines is planning on hosting a webinar for KT,WIUM, and NJ to come together and ask questions, as well as to learn more about each other. More information will be coming out on this shortly.

I must say that I am proud of all of you in light of the success we had at our Spring Regional Training Conferences. We had over 190 attendees between the two, and I think everyone in attendance had a great time. Between now and September, we must work to gather feedback and utilize it so we can make the Fall RTCs the best they can possibly be. Once again, huge shout-out to Abi and Eileen, as well as the entire RTC Committee for the great work they did in getting these events together!

Hopefully by now you have gotten a feel for how to do your newsletters and how to plan events. With this in mind, everyone’s lives will be easier if we mapped out our plans to keep consistent contact and interaction with your divisions throughout the year. Simply send an email to me, Secretary Nevola, and Editor Rosenbloom with a list of dates for your newsletter release dates and relative timeframes for DCMs (E.g. DCM 2: late July, early August; DCM 3: Late September, early October; DCM 4: November; DCM 5: January; DCM 6: February; DCM 7: March). Use the next page to get an idea for releases. This is what I will be doing.

For every day your newsletter is late, you owe one pound of food for donation at the next board meeting.

LTG Update Emails I hope to establish a systematic way of communicating with all of you so I may address everything you are doing, both in your committee work and everyday LTG work. As such, I will be sending an email every other week where you can feel free to outline: • what you have been up to • Any problems you have had • Anything you need from the executive board • Any ideas you have These are wholly optional. I just want to make sure you have a way to address anything you would like to address, especially during the times that we do not have board meetings for long stretches of time (AKA summer).

Committee Calls I would like to set up a system where I can keep in touch with committee chairs and Kiwanis Committee Advisors to see what is being done, what needs to be done, and how the Executive Board can help in any way. Ideally, these will be biweekly, as well. I will reach out to committee chairs and Kiwanis advisors this week to get this structured.

Many of you have had the same or similar questions. The following section will be ongoing in all of my newsletters. If you ever have a good question/advice, it would be best if you could reply to my newsletter release emails and I will include it in the next issue. I will also pick and choose from other correspondence throughout the month. I hope this helps.

Who do I email? To Google Group: • Newsletters • Anything pertaining to the whole district board – Releasing committee assignments, etc.

To me, committee chairs, advisor: • Committee correspondence To your clubs, me, and your ZA: • Club correspondence • Committee updates (include committee chair as CC for these! If you are a chair, I encourage you to remind LTGs to do this if you want them to.) Report Forms • International Trustee, njkeyclubreportforms, District Administrator, District Governor, Zone Administrator Executive Officers • Include us whenever you think it is necessary. Is an advisor asking about dues? CC me and Ciara. Is an advisor having CMRF trouble? CC me and Meghan. Use us at your discretion.

Trouble with club contact? Follow these steps until something works:

• • • • •

Contact advisor Contact president Contact every other officer Do it all again Contact me and tell me the issue

Trouble with keeping club contact? Do this:

• • • • •

Make a groupchat Meet with them face-to-face Make a Facebook page Meet with them face-to-face again Remember proper etiquette when emailing and texting; make sure your message cannot be misconstrued

(These are relative minimums. Most of you should be- and already have- exceeded these. Others have special circumstances. If you are having trouble, I am always happy to talk)

• Contact with all clubs – Submission of all club officer rosters • One DCM hosted – One DCM planned for summer • Club visits with approximately half of your clubs (The more you can complete the smoother the start of year will be) • Plan divisional event for summer/ start of year – Work with other LTGs if you would like – Speak with LTGs that have had successful events to get ideas
