I
arrive at 7.30am at Charles de Gaulle airport, Paris, the city of lights, and I am heading straight to my charming and typical French small hotel right off Le Palais Royal and rue Richelieu, as I booked my flight literally 6 hours before boarding my usual Hotel particuliere in the 7eme is fully booked, I am delighted because right in front of my new hotel is a popular ¨bubble tea bar¨ the very trendy Thai tapioca pearl drinks, I am addicted to them!
My routine in Paris for the next few days begins with a priority first stop at the ¨bubble tea bar¨ for a boiling large matcha, black bean or hot rice tea to inject some energy for the 15 hour day ahead. I begin on Rue St. Honoré with a quick visit to Collette to see the latest ¨nouveatés¨ all the seasons latest trends are found here first. The latest cd´s, books, toys, perfumes, sunglasses, jewelry accessories, gadgets and the up and coming fashion brands… are all found here. It is packed as usual! I find a wonderful Helmut Newton collectors item book on his first photographic pieces which is worth investing in as it is a classic item and a must for every fashionistas library. I find a cool dark blue cap with ¨french touch in red writing¨ I find it fun as I am with the navy blue theme this week. From Collette I wander into all of the wonderful boutiques St. Honoré has to offer. Fragonard with its dainty floral linens and newest Indian collection of embroidered bed wear is always a pleasure to visit; this season exotic birds and flowers decorate the shop along with the tropical perfume and eau de toilette fragrances. I go into the various multi brand jewelry shops were the common theme I find is again the boho chic ¨coachella¨ burning man style of hippie cool; with native american long fringed necklaces, earrings with large coral and turquoise stones and coloured threaded bracelets meant to be worked in layers, all very colourful and fun! I continue my stroll in and out of all the boutiques along St. Honoré observing all of the tourists and Fashion Week troopers, it is as if I am in the middle of a Cirque du Soleil production. The Ritz has finally re-opened after 2 years of renovations, my friend Karin calls me as she is there at the bar having champagne before the Julien Fournie show at 3.30, perfect timing! I walk across Place Vendôme towards the Ritz, I am eager to see how it has changed. There’s a group of paparazzi at the entrance waiting for the ‘it girls’ to make an appearance before dashing off to the next show. As I walk in I see the striking
top model Magdalena Frackowiak. Sitting at the bar with her feline features she draws everyone’s attention. Anna Wintour, looking immaculate with perfect porcelain white skin and her hair bob just passes by the lobby after finishing a lunch date. I find my friends at the Hemingway bar, sipping champagne and martini’s, it is very cozy and full of Americans. There is not much time for a catch up, as the next show is approaching, so we hop into a taxi and head off to the old church behind the Louvre on the Rue de Rivoli. where the up and coming designer Julien Fournie’s show is taking place. It is held at the L´Oratoire du Louvre, the old oratory. It is a beautiful dramatic backdrop for the show. Everyone is seated and anxious to see how the new designer is going to impress his audience, the first models come out in white and black geometrically cut dresses and pant suits, very striking. Then colour takes on the catwalk with long flowy silk and chiffon dresses, Julien proves he can be both sharp and bold in his cuts and patterns and also gentle, romantic and light. The finale piece is a multi-coloured long striped dress resonating light, color and summer. After this show everyone rushes out quickly as there are another 3 big shows, at the Grand Palais and then in the George V hotel. As I arrive at the George V, I walk downstairs to where the oriental fashion show exhibition is going to take place shortly. There is a huge crowd at the cocktail. After a while of mingling and meeting up and coming designers from Lebanon, Egypt and France and with photographers having flown in from NY and London, we all proceed to the big salon in preparation for the Oriental fashion show exhibition with 5 different designers presenting their collections. The Spanish matador, torero boleros and embroidered waist coats is the first theme, I don't know how Oriental that is but whatever the connection it is stunning, tight body fitting dresses that then flare out into ruffles echoing the Flamenco costumes of Semana Santa in Sevilla. Worn under tight fitting black and red vests and the models wearing the high peinetas adorned with flowers, its a wonderful spectacle. Then we have the true oriental theme collection with silver and gold draping kaftans embroidered with colored jewels and sequences. Followed by light blues, yellow and pink long Arabian nights like dresses, with stunning gold jewels and ornate head crowns, leaving the audience
dazzled. It is a two hour show of beautifully refined ethnic and traditional collections. The grand final is the bridal collection with a wonderful selection of white and cream gowns. One in particular, a stunning masterpiece made with pearls and sequences, creates a holy aura around the model. Her golden hair makes her appear as to be a heavenly angel. It is the end of the show! Another cocktail but I have friends waiting at the bar of Hotel Costes, so I make a quick escape and dash off into my taxi. Hotel Costes is my favourite place during Paris Fashion Week, it is indeed the place for all the Fashion Week diners that catch up on the end of the day gossip and recaps.. My dear friend Beatrix is waiting for me at the bar. She is German, based in Paris for the moment and has just graduated from the Marangoni Institute. She has done styling and photo shoots for French Vogue and other international magazines, she is lovely and a beauty! Another French friend of mine joins us, she has an antiques shop in St. Germain and is herself a very talented photographer/graphic designer; who decided to open up with her mother a wonderful decoration shop called Seine Interieur on Rue de Verneuil. Soon they will also have jewellery pieces added to their existing accessories of handmade fine leather purses among many other items. My friend Julie, another interior designer, specializing in renovations joins us along with more friends gradually through the evening, including a debuting movie director, fashion editor and so on. The bar and restaurant is packed and as we move on to the terrace side for diner we pass by Bella Hadid sitting to our right with her eclectic entourage and fellow models and then to the left is Oliver Rousteing dining with another young trendy group. I order the King Crab salad my favourite with a side of steamed green beans only the French know how to cook them just au point! Diane Von Furstenberg is at the table in front of ours with two young Italian girls very pretty and then another older Spanish socialite joins the adjoining table with a very handsome and very young man - surely will be next week’s gossip! It’s definitely the centre of attention during Fashion week! And this is only the first day! Till then calm before the Wonderful rush of Fashion Week all begins again !

Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet’s wrote the first pages in the rich history of the legendary Swiss watch manufacture, a place where tradition and innovation have come together for over a century. Audemars Piguet's tale is formed by scores of men and women who from past to present have perpetuated the pioneering spirit of its founding fathers through creations that have made an indelible imprint on the art of watchmaking.

Audemars Piguet entered the annals of horological history in 1972, when it overturned all prevailing codes with the iconic Royal Oak, a timepiece beyond comparison. Its selfwinding movement with a central rotor is among the thinnest in the world, while the piece boasts an octagonal bezel held by eight hexagonal
screws, a dial adorned with a "Tapisserie" guilloché or engine-turned pattern, and a bracelet perfectly integrated into the case. This masterpiece of watch design, a 'shocking' introduction in both material and shape at the time, is the perfect embodiment of the Manufacture's credo "To break the rules, you must first master them". The Royal Oak is today one of the iconic masterpieces in fine watchmaking. When Audemars Piguet unveiled it for the first time in 1972, luxury timepieces were usually small, round or rectangular and made of gold, but the brand broke these rules, forever defying conventions, with this first luxury sports timepiece honed from steel. Its powerful look ushered in a revolutionary avant-garde style, that has since become its trademark. Across its 45 years of existence, this modern horological icon upholds the innovation and excellence embodied by Audemars Piguet.

Tradition and avant-garde are inextricably intertwined at Audemars Piguet, as they unite with a passionate drive to keep alive the ancient savoir-faire that has been handed down across the generations to create exceptional timepieces and pen the horological legends of tomorrow. The Manufacture has already made its mark on watchmaking in this third millennium with ground breaking mechanical innovations such as the Supersonnerie or the use of new technical materials like ceramic to make watch cases. Many chapters of its history remain to be written and the pieces that come to life today in the workshops where the founding fathers took up tools in 1875 may one day be exhibited in its museum, side by side with the masterpieces crafted by the architects of the brand and their ancestors. To honour this heritage, Audemars Piguet is currently building a new museum in its home town, Le Brassus, in direct proximity to its founders' original home and manufacture building.
2. Once finished, the spetacular, spiral shaped construction by Danish star architect Bjarke Ingels will showcase the history of Audemars Piguet and its exceptional craft. The museum will be inaugurated in 2019. Audemars Piguet is the oldest watch manufacturer still owned by the founding families (Audemars and Piguet). The company has manufactured exceptional luxury watches since 1875 and boasts a series of world firsts. In the Vallée de Joux region at the heart of the Swiss Jura, rare horological masterpieces are produced, perfectly embodying the art of watchmaking from the past…and the future.

CaixaForum This extraordinary structure near the southern end of the Paseo del Prado is one of Madrid’s most eye catching and certainly one of its most unusual architectural innovations. The brick edifice is topped by a summit of rusted iron. On an adjacent wall is the “jardín colgante” (hanging garden), a lush vertical wall of greenery. Inside there are four floors of exhibition and performance space awash in stainless steel and with soaring ceilings.
Plaza de Cibeles Of all the grand roundabouts on the Paseo del Prado, Plaza de Cibeles most evokes the splendour of imperial Madrid. The jewel in the crown of this stirring celebration of Belle Époque is the Palacio de Cibeles (1917) – built by Antonio Palacios, Madrid’s most prolific architect of the era – which serves as Madrid’s City Hall. The fountain of Cibeles, named after Cybele, the Greek goddess of fertility, lies at the centre of the plaza and is one of Madrid’s most beautiful statues.
Plaza Mayor The monumental heart of the city, the Plaza Mayor was completed in 1619 by Juan Gómez de la Mora. It’s built in typical Herrerian style, of which the slate spires are the most obvious expression. Ochre-hued apartments with wrought-iron balconies and 17th century frescoes overlook the plaza, which has borne witness to bullfights and executions during the Spanish Inquisition.

to the public in 1868 and are now a favourite haunt of madrileños. Just south of the lake is the Palacio de Cristal, a beautiful steel and glass pavilion, and in the northeast of the park is Ermita de San Isidro, one of the few examples of Romanesque architecture.
Palacio Real Finished in 1764, is an Italianate Baroque landmark. Around 50 of its 2,800 rooms are open to the public –it’s popular, so try to visit at 10am before the tour buses arrive. From the northern end of the Plaza de la Armería, the main stairway leads to the royal apartments and the Salón del Trono (throne room) – a lavish space with a ceiling painted by the Venetian Baroque master, Tiepolo (Calle Bailén; ¤8.50).
Plaza de la Villa The Plaza de la Villa is enclosed on three sides by fine examples of 17th-century barroco madrileño (Madrid’s Baroque architecture: an amalgam of brick, exposed stone and wrought iron). On the western side of the square is the 17th-century former town hall, in Habsburg-style Baroque. On the opposite side is the Gothic Casa de los Lujanes, while the Baroque Casa de Cisneros, built in 1537, with later Renaissance alterations, also catches the eye.
San Lorenzo de El Escorial Several villages were razed to make way for this formidable palace-monastery complex, conceived by King Felipe II in the 16th century as a royal palace and mausoleum. It’s a one-hour train trip from Madrid to San Lorenzo de El Escorial, now a prim town complete with quaint shops and restaurants. (closed Mon; ¤8.50).

Now back to the car. To say that this interior is designed to make you feel cocooned in a warm blanket of utter decadence to escape from the rest of the grey world, would be an understatement. Probably one of the best car/ private jet interiors your money can buy. The spec of our car is what I imagine most new owners will be looking for. Warm and elegant colors that compliment Bentley's signature diamond cut leather seats and door panels. The options list can quickly push up the price of the car but you do get your money's worth as a driver and as a passenger. What makes this a standout driving experience is how it does the unexpected every time you put your right foot on the brushed aluminium gas
and brake pedal. In the new age of smaller turbocharged engines you don't expect to find the grunt of a 600hp twin turbo W12 6,0l engine hidden among acres of the finest leather and "wave massage" seats. 0-100km/h in 4 seconds flat and it keeps on going but put it on "B" mode (yes for Bentley) and it grips into corners that defies its huge size. This car is seriously fast and smooth. Did I mention we were four of us on our way to KE Sotogrande for some nice tapas? It's as easy to drive as a VW Golf GTI and the paddle shift transmission is fast enough for fun on the highway and more serious driving in demanding country and coastal roads. Forget B roads. What about off-road? Sand dunes? Really?

Our valet insisted we park in front of the Sea Grill sign and after much parking-camera trickery (I still can't understand how it does the aerial view in real-time. Does this car have a drone?), we found a totally in your face parking spot. We were just as lucky with our table as the maitre kindly escorted us to the table with the perfect beachside view.
The fine Mediterranean cuisine is the star of the show but the sound of the gentle waves lapping the shore, the sunset, elegant jet-set and generous sommeliers; It is the perfect way to end a perfect day with the Bentley Bentayga and get ready for tomorrow because we can't get enough of this car.
As if the Bentley wasn't enough of an ego boost, we had the lobster and Wagyu to match. Highly recommend to order generously even if it is just a dinner for two. (You don't want to be that guy). We all can cook pasta at home so go for the special dishes and the Spanish wines. One thing to remember is that it is easy to lose track of time when dining here.

The international travelling exhibition Peter Lindbergh, A Different Vision on Fashion Photography has been initiated and produced by the Kunsthal Rotterdam, in close collaboration with curator Thierry-Maxime Loriot and Peter Lindbergh. Peter Lindbergh has been regarded as one of the most influential fashion photographers of the past forty years. Lindbergh’s pure black-and-white photographs have determined the course of fashion photography since the 1980s.
He launched the careers of a new generation of models such as Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Nadja Auerman, Tatjana Patitz and Karen Alexander and stood at the head of the era of the supermodels. The more than 200 photographs in the first international travelling exhibition of this legendary photographer present a spectacular survey of his oeuvre.

The Museo ThyssenBornemisza presented Bvlgari and
Rome, an exhibition that looked at how the art and architecture of ancient and modern Rome has been a source of inspiration to the designers of this firm of Italian jewellers throughout its history. In the words of Paolo Bvlgari, grandson of the firm’s founder, Bvlgari’s creations are “a journey through the Italian masterpieces that have inspired them.” Founded in Rome in 1884, since its beginning, Bvlgari has made use of the city’s most characteristic features as the guiding symbolic and artistic thread of its creations. For decades the Colosseum, the Piazza San Pietro, the Spanish Steps, the fountains in the Piazza Navona and the Pantheon have given form to necklaces, bracelets, earrings and brooches made in gold or platinum and precious stones of every colour: cabouchon cut gems that reproduce the typical domes of the Roman skyline; geometrical designs that reflect the pure lines of the ruins; and glints of gold that recall Baroque volutes are among the details that reveal Bvlgari’s homage to the Eternal City.

The exhibition brought together more than 140 pieces of jewellery from Bvlgari’s Heritage Collection (including jewels that belonged to Elizabeth Taylor) and from a number of private collections, including that of Baroness Thyssen. They were displayed alongside around 30 paintings, drawings, sculptures and photographs by different European artists who have depicted the city of Rome in their works, including Canaletto, Gaspar van Wittel, Ippolito Caffi and Arthur John Strutt. The majority had been lent by the Museo di Roma (Palazzo Braschi) with other loans from the Galleria Borghese, the Capitoline Museums and the collections of Banco Intesa San Paolo and the Circolo della Caccia.

The money raised during the auction reaffirmed the overwhelming success

Born in Duisburg, Germany, Lindbergh began his career as a window dresser for the Karstadt and Horten department stores.
