nce upon a time, a curious Florentine perfumer went to Cyprus on a beautiful day to spend some time under the guidance of a follower of Sufism – a mystical branch of Islam. The mysterious scholar quickly enlightened him about, not only, the wonders of creating distinctive perfumes, but also about the spiritual side of this noble activity. The perfumer took all the knowledge he had gained in Cyprus with him and 10 years ago he opened a shop and a laboratory called Aquaflor in the center of Florence near the Basilica of the Holy Cross. The shop is now run by perfumer Nicola Bianchi.

The participants are allowed to smell all the infusions – from Oman’s frankincense and Egyptian amber through to the essence of the Florentine iris, Damascus rose and even Mysore sandalwood – while being presented the history of perfumery and Aquaflor itself. From those fragrances you can choose the ones that impressed you the most, and there's no shame in smelling them several times to make sure your choice is truly correct. If your nose is already supersaturated with all the intense scents, you can always smell coffee beans so that your nose can reset. The result of the process is an individual selection of five to seven essential fragrances, which are gradually mixed in different doses until your unique aroma is created. Now all you have to do is pour the selected fragrance mixture into a 100ml bottle so that twenty percent is the essence and the remaining eighty percent is alcohol. Once all that is done, the bottle is closed. The owner is not allowed to open it for the next three weeks so that all the ethereal components of the fragrance can be properly connected and so that the perfume matures into its final form. American style In the beginning of May, a new bistro opened in Prague offering purely American meat feasts. The interior is adapted to this – with its originality a real American fast food appears in our metropolis.
