etting elected relies on many things – a charismatic candidate, a compelling campaign, a talented team, and/or a popular platform. Surely, these things can matter. But as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi has proven, terrific timing too, can mean everything. The new president put on a masterclass on how timing matters in politics as his ascendency to the presidency and dominance in the parliamentary polls is a textbook example of why timing matters in politics.

Nine months ago, virtually no one in Ukraine expected Ukraine’s comedian-in-chief would replace former President Petro Poroshenko as the country’s next leader. In fact, the celebrity name more bandied about at the time was iconic Okean Elzy frontman and Lviv’s native son, Svyatoslav Vakarchuk. As late as November, Vakarchuk was polling as high as 10 percent. Zelenskyi was rarely even named in the polls. He waited until New Year’s Eve to announce his candidacy, bumping the President’s traditional New Year’s greeting in the process. He didn’t offer much for a plan; nor did he say much about who he’d be working with. He hoped to ride the popularity of his presidential TV character right through to the spring votes. It worked.

Zelenskyi managed to tap into the Ukrainian electorate’s desire for a “vote for change”. While nearly one in three voters chose the candidate in the first round, fully three-quarters of electors voted for the comedian in the second round – a vote that was as much anti-Poroshenko as it was pro-Zelenskyi. Still riding high in the polls, his first order of business was to call snap elections. The purpose? To ride the tide of his popularity – to use timing once again to his advantage – to stack the Ukrainian parliament with like-minded folks. It seems a sound strategy; Zelenskyi’s party has been polling between 40-50% – far ahead of every other party – and could elect over half the parliament.

new President. If Zelenskyi represents the textbook example of how important timing is in politics, Vakarchuk could represent just the opposite. Shortly after we go to print, Zelenskyi will likely have a powerful parliament to back his platitudes for reform. He’ll have the power and popularity to push through crucial legislation at a time when it is sorely needed. The time is right for reform in Ukraine. Ukrainian “ethno chaos” group DakhaBrakha will present their original score for Alexander Dovzhenko’s 1930 materpiece film ‘Earth’ in Lviv in August. Ukraine’s most famous Soviet-era director, Dovzhenko created ‘Earth’ as part of his ‘Ukraine Trilogy’ and the film is considered one of the greatest movies of the 20th Century. DakhaBrakha (meaning ‘give/take’ in old Ukrainian) uses the fundamental elements of sound and soul, accompanied by Indian, Arabic, African, Russian, and Australian traditional instrumentation, to create a world of unexpected new music. The group’s astonishingly powerful and uncompromising vocal range creates a transnational sound rooted in Ukrainian culture. Dovzhenko’s avant-garde Earth, a masterpiece of Soviet propaganda about collectivisation, has

been called one of the 12 best films in the history of cinema. It was banned just nine days after its release and was only popularised in Ukraine after his death. A master of composition, the film uses intense close-ups and impressive expanses of landscape to provide a passionate tribute to nature, the countryside, and the people that work it. The film is full of lyrical pantheism and utopian exaltation and inspires dozens of controversial interpretations. ‘Earth’ demonstrates the ambiguity of the Ukrainian geopolitical choice in the 1920s and the soundtrack created by DakhaBrakha shifts the film’s emphasis from ideological connotations to universal ones. The 24th of August is Independence Day in Ukraine and many use the state holiday to enjoy themselves to the fullest. Music lovers – save the date! THIS MONTH Leopolitan music lovers and guests of the city will be delighted by the return of the LvivMozArt festival of classic music. Aiming to unite the best Ukrainian and world musicians, this year’s festival will feature nine days of classical and Mozart music from 3-11 August. Festivalgoers can also take in exceptional musical evenings, presentations, and recitations at seven iconic locations on Lviv’s musical map – the Lviv Opera, Philharmonia, Old Tram Depot, Dominican Church, Organ Music Hall, the spectacular Potocki Palace, and the Ruins of the Brody Synagogue in Brody (Lviv Region). Scholars from across Europe and Ukraine will kick off the festival on 3 August with an Academic Forum on music and literature. The synthesis of arts will be spread as a leitmotif throughout the entire concert programme, which includes a musicalliterary salon full of short speeches and open dialogue in the form of a roundtable. Topics will connect to the literary and musical sources during the time that Mozart flourished, as well as Joseph Roth’s literary heritage during the interwar period. A truly historic concert will take place on 4 August, when ‘Music and Literature’ honours the life of Roth, who was born 125 years ago and died 80 years ago. One of the most important German-speaking authors of the 20th Century, his dramatic fate united Ukrainian, Austrian, and Jewish histories and became a symbol of the strong relationships between Ukraine and Europe. It’s the first time in the history of Ukraine and Austria that

a commemorative concert will take place in his Galician motherland, near the ruins of the Brody Synagogue. Once one of the biggest Jewish temples in Europe, it now sits in ruins after being bombed in WWII. The concert will feature video and a unique artistic performance by soloists Pumeza Matshikiza (ZA), Inso-Lviv Symphony Orchestra (UA), the Dudaryk Lviv State Academic Male Choir (UA), and violinist Abraham Brody (US). Conducted by Oksana Lyniv (UA-AT), the presentation will be read by Sunnyi Melles (CH). Lviv’s marvellous Potocki Palace will host on 6 August the ‘Mozart – Connection of Generations’ chamber concert dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Leopold Mozart, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s father and grandfather of festival patron Franz Xaver, who was a Leopolitan. An outstanding pedagogue and violinist, Leopold Mozart laid the foundation of musical traditions in the family that would be perfected by his son. He was also a teacher and music manager for his children. For kids, the festival will offer the ‘MozArtKids’ programme, where the little ones can meet with orchestra musicians and their instruments, learn their favourite melodies from the golden era of Vienna classical music, and complete funny and thought-provoking tasks related to Mozart’s life and times as the cultural zenith of the 18th Century. Видатний педагог і скрипаль Леопольд Моцарт заклав фундамент музичних традицій у сім'ї, які розвинув його син. Він також був викладачем і музичним менеджером своїх дітей. INTERNATIONAL UKRAINIAN DANCE & CULTURE FESTIVAL 9–12 August in Lviv City Centre & the Shevchenkivsky Hai (1 Chernecha Gora St.) The International Ukrainian Dance & Cultural Festival is quickly becoming one of the coolest Ukrainian dance festivals in the world. The event brings together Ukrainians from all over the world to celebrate and share their passion for Ukrainian dance, music, and culture. In the past, groups have traveled from as far away as England, Canada, and Australia to join Ukrainian groups at the festival. Some come to perform, others tour Ukraine, while many come just to meet new friends and enjoy Lviv. It's going to be an epic four-day experience, including dance workshops, performances, and networking with Ukrainian dancers from around the world. "KIT GAVATOVYCHA" THEATRE FESTIVAL 6–8 September at the Summer Stage at B. Khmelnytsky Culture & Recreation Park (4 Bolharska St.) and LEM Station (57 Vitovskoho St.) Lviv’s summer hot spot – B. LEVANDIVKA’S SERGEI PARAJANOV FESTIVAL 19–24 August in the Levandivka district of Lviv Sergei Paradjanov (1924-90) was one of the 20th Century’s greatest cinema masters. Legends such as Fellini, Antonioni, and Tarkovsky labaled him a “genius”, “magician”, and “master”. He was one of the most daring and visionary directors to emerge from the Soviet Union. He won countless awards, including the British Academy Award for his film Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors. Yet, despite his international acclaim, Paradjanov was a constant target of the Soviet system. No other director suffered the same; he was arrested twice on fabricated charges and spent five years in hard labour camps. After his release, he wasn’t allowed to work for another 15 years. Deprived of the opportunity to pursue his passion, he turned to other forms of art, of which he said, “My art saved me”. While highly acclaimed worldwide, his work remains relatively unknown here in Ukraine. The Paradjanov Festival aims to increase awareness of the work of this Ukrainian master, while also initiating a dialogue between artists and Levandivka residents, establishing new cultural connections, discussing timely social problems, and reinterpreting the surrounding environment. This year’s event celebrates the 95th anniversary of the Paradjanov’s birth and with the theme ‘The point of movement’ will focus on the phenomenon of the ‘70s in Ukrainian culture. From the beginning, the festival has energised the Levandivka community and this year will see an open-air cinema in Levandivsky Park, an exhibition at the Suputnyk Art Centre, a Theatre Night, workshops for children and adults, and a gala concert on Independence Day. The exhibition will feature installations from different forms of modern art, including painting, graphic arts, sculpture, photography, and others. It is an indispensable part of the festival that serves as a bridge between the community and the world of modern art that helps youth emerge from difficult socioeconomic circumstances. ФЕСТИВАЛЬ ПАРАДЖАНОВА 9–24 серпня на Левандівці Сергій Параджанов (1924-1990) був одним з найбільших майстрів кіно 20го століття. Такі легенди кіно, як Ф. Фелліні, М. Антоніоні чи А. Тарковський називали його "генієм", "чарівником" і "майстром". Він був одним з найсміливіших режисерів-візіонерів у Радянському Союзі. Він отримав численні нагороди, включаючи премію Британської академії за фільм "Тіні забутих предків". Проте, незважаючи на його міжнародне визнання, С. Фестиваль Параджанова має на меті ширше ознайомлення публіки з творчістю цього видатного українського митця, а також ініціювання діалогу між митцями та мешканцями Левандівки, встановлення нових культурних зв'язків, обговорення актуальних соціальних проблем та переосмислення навколишнього середовища. Цьогорічний фестиваль присвячений 95 річниці дня народження С. Параджанова, а його темою – "Точка руху", присвячена феномену сімдесятників в українській культурі. RUN THE WORLD LVIV – 10K RUN 15 September at 7:00 in front of the Opera & Ballet Theatre (28 Svobody Ave.) Running is often the first choice of new fitness enthusiasts because of the low startup costs, that you can do it just about anywhere, and there are no long-term dues or fees. Get some shorts and a T-shirt and a good pair of running shoes and you’re good to go. How hard can it be, right? All good things come with time and running certainly follows that rule. So long as you have patience and can celebrate small successes, running gets easier and may even become your favourite activity. Soon enough, you’ll even be able to participate in challenging races, like the Run the World 10 km race taking place in Lviv on 15 September. 10k runs are an achievable but challenging distance for beginners looking to move up from 5k’s and “park runs”, but also a great distance for more experienced runners looking to build up endurance. The Lviv Triathlon Cup, featuring 1.5 kms of swimming, 40 kms of cycling, and 10 kms of running – all in immediate succession – will take place in the city on 8 September. Triathlon evolved out of a 1970s American craze for long-distance fitness and running and became an Olympic sport at the 2000 Summer Games in Sydney, Australia. The competition starts at Kolyba Lake in the village of Briukhovychi. Athletes will then cycle the Briukhovychi-Lviv highway, run a circular loop along the cobblestone-paved Svobody Avenue, and finish right in front of the city’s iconic Opera House. PRESIDENT INTRODUCES NEW GOVERNOR OF LVIV REGION Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi introduced Lviv Region’s new governor – Markian Malskyi – at a working meeting with local authorities and opinion leaders at Lviv State University. Mr. Malskyi is the first governor that Zelenskyi has named publicly, following a Facebook post asking his followers to help him choose from three candidates. Malskyi noted that the appointment was a surprise, but he is hopeful for the support and working cooperation with volunteers, public activists, and local deputies. “We all have to work to make Ukraine a strong and powerful state”, the new governor said, “The region has all the chances and is most ready to introduce the best European practices. We can be a platform for a variety of projects.” The new Lviv Governor also emphasised the importance of creating favourable business conditions. “Those who come back with money mostly face bureaucracy”, he said. “And then we are surprised that we do not have them. That is why there is an understanding of the need to work on deregulation and de-shadowing”. Представлення відбулося у Львівському національному університеті імені Івана Франка під час робочої поїздки Володимира Зеленського на Львівщину. М. Мальський зазначив, що це призначення є несподіванкою, але він сподівається на підтримку та співпрацю з волонтерами, громадськими активістами та місцевими депутатами. "Ми всі повинні працювати, щоб зробити Україну сильною і могутньою державою", – сказав новий губернатор. "У регіону є всі шанси і він готовий запровадити найкращі європейські практики. Ми можемо стати платформою для різноманітних проектів". Новий керівник Львівської ОДА також підкреслив важливість створення сприятливих умов для ведення бізнесу. "Ті, хто повертаються в Україну з грошима, найчастіше стикаються з бюрократією", – сказав він. – І тоді ми дивуємось, що у нас їх немає. Ось чому існує розуміння необхідності працювати над дерегуляцією та виходом з тіні". LEOPOLIS JAZZ FEST 2019 Concerts featuring over a hundred world class musicians, performing on three stages in the city’s downtown area, over 100,000 spectators and around 200 accredited press reporters – this is story of the Leopolis Jazz Fest of the previous years. The first festival was successfully held in 2011. This year, immersing the city in the atmosphere of jazz, the five-day event attracted nearly 300 musicians, including world-famous pianist and 22-time Grammy winner Chick Corea with the My Spanish Heart Band, talented Canadian singer and pianist Diana Krall, legendary 10-time Grammy winner and one of the world’s top vocal improvisers, Bobby McFerrin, iconic English songstress and actress Lisa Stansfield, and three-time Grammy winning group Snarky Puppy. The Eddie Rosner Leopolis Jazz Fest Award is annualy given to a musician or group that has made a significant contribution to the development of jazz music. Selected by an international jury of experts, this year’s award was given to “the most lyrical pianist of our time”, Kenny Barron. Barron is an American jazz pianist that is considered one of the most influential mainstream jazz pianists since the bebop era. Jazz Fest headliner Bobby McFerrin, the renowned American jazz vocalist, conductor, and 10-time Grammy winner, gathered a choir of 80 Ukrainian vocalists on stage for a joint performance on 29 June. This spectacular event included Ukrainian Eurovision winner Jamala, vocalists Laura Marti, LAUD, Kristina Marti, Olya Chernyshova, Lisa Bajrak, United People, ManSound, and Lviv’s M. Lysenko National Music Academy’s choir. Festivalgoers were treated to numerous workshops, jam and autograph sessions by the stars, jazz film screenings from Leonid Goldstein’s collection, and all kinds of bands and musicians playing on street platforms throughout Central Lviv as part of the Street Music initiative.

Цьогорічний, дев’ятий фестиваль під дещо зміненою назвою – Leopolis Jazz Fest на п’ять днів занурив місто в атмосферу джазу, захід зібрав близько 300 музикантів, серед яких всесвітньо відомий піаніст і 22-разовий лауреат премії Grammy Чик Коріа з My Spanish Heart Band, талановита канадська співачка й піаністка Діана Кралл, легендарний 10-разовий лауреат премії Grammy і один з провідних вокальних імпровізаторів світу Боббі Макферрін, знакова англійська співачка й актриса Ліза Стенсфілд, і триразовий лауреат премії Grammy Snarky Puppy. Премія Едді Рознера щорічно присуджується музиканту або групі, які зробили значний внесок у розвиток джазової музики. Міжнародне журі цього року присудило цю нагороду "найбільш ліричному піаністу нашого часу" Кенні Баррону. Цей американський джазмен вважається одним з найвпливовіших джазових піаністів з часів епохи bebop. Хедлайнер Leopolis Jazz Fest Боббі Макферрін, відомий американський джазовий вокаліст, диригент і 10-кратний лауреат премії Grammy, зібрав хор з 80 українських вокалістів для спільного виступу 29 червня. У цьому надзвичайному хорі можна було почути й побачити, зокрема, переможницю українського Євробачення Джамалу, вокалістів LAUD, Лауру й Крістіну Марті, Олю Чернишову, Лізу Байрак, United People, ManSound та хор львівської Національної музичної академії ім. М. В. Лисенка. Для відвідувачів фестивалю проводились численні майстер-класи, джем- та автограф-сесії зірок, показ джазових фільмів з колекції Леоніда Гольдштейна; також різноманітні групи вуличних музикантів грали на центральних вулицях Львова. UKRAINIAN HAUTE COUTURE CELEBRATES JUBILEE Famed Ukrainian designer Oksana Karavantska delighted Leopolitan fashionistas and guests of the city with the 5th edition of her wonderful ‘Ukrainian Haute Couture’ fashion show on 28 June. Held as part of the Leopolis Jazz Fest programme and with the support of the Embassy of Switzerland, this year’s show was hosted at the picturesque Metropolitan A. Sheptytskyi Gardens. The venue’s heritage and air of aristocracy was the perfect locale for the premiere of Karavanska’s newest collection, with which she closely collaborated with celebrated Leopolitan artist Yurko Koch. Eventgoers were charmed with unique handmade accessories by Georgian brand Boo Jewellery and its designer Tamuna Jikia. Musical guests included Maryna Krut and Shpylyasti Kobzari, finalists in last season’s Voice of Ukraine TV talent show, while the soundtrack was compiled by Volodymyr Yakymets, best known as a member of Lviv’s legendary Pikkardiyska Tertsiya a cappella group as well as six Trembita players, who came especially for this occasion from Carpathian mountains.

У рамках програми Leopolis Jazz Fest та за підтримки Посольства Швейцарії цього року показ відбувся в мальовничому саду митрополита А. Шептицького. Атмосфера історичної спадщини дуже вдало сприяла прем'єрному показу новітньої колекції О. Караванської, над створенням якої вона тісно співпрацювала з відомим львівським художником Юрком Кохом. Учасники заходу були зачаровані унікальними аксесуарами грузинського бренду Boo Jewellery та їх дизайнеркою Тамуною Джікіа. Музичними гостями були Марина Крут та "Шпилясті Кобзарі", фіналісти телевізійного шоу "Голос Країни" минулого сезону, а саунд-трек модної історії створили художній керівник вокальної формації «Піккардійська Терція» Володимир Якимець, а також шестеро гуцулів-трембітарів, які спеціально для цієї події спустилися з Карпат.

Lviv’s Athletes Shine at European Games Ukrainian athletes finished third at last month’s European Games, thanks in no small part to the contributions of some of Lviv’s most talented sportsmen and women. The team picked up 51 medals (16 gold, 17 silver, and 18 bronze), with eight Leopolitans among those honoured. Stanislav Horuna, the 2017 World Games karate champion and hot favourite to medal when the sport makes its Olympic debut next year in Tokyo, defeated all comers in the up to 75 kg division. Threetime Olympic wrestler Yuliya Tkach, who is in fine form just a year ahead of what is likely her fourth straight Olympics, won European Games gold in the up to 62 kg category. These two European champions were named co-winners of Lviv region’s athlete-of-the-month for June. Other Leopolitan medalists included Yuliya Khavaldzhy and Oksana Livach (both silver – wrestling), Olena Starikova (silver – cycling), Pavlo Korostylov (bronze – shooting), Alla Cherkasova (bronze – wrestling), and Galina Melnik (bronze – karate). Lviv’s lovely Anastasia Voznyak, hot off a Cosmopolitan photo shoot, also took home silver in the team artistic gymnastics event. As team captain, she led the team just short of winning gold, finishing just 0.075 points behind to hosts Belarus. Lviv Today congratulates all our athletes on their fine performances!

Триразова учасниця Олімпіад борчиня Юлія Ткач, яка знаходиться в прекрасній формі всього за рік до участі у четвертій Олімпіаді підряд, виграла золото в категорії до 62 кг. Ці двоє чемпіонів Європи були визнані найкращими спортсменами Львівщини за червень. Water Polo: Lviv Dynamo Champions Again! Lviv’s SKA sports complex hosted the Ukraine Cup Final Four water polo tournament last month in an event dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Lviv Dynamo – one of Ukraine’s most storied water polo teams. The hosts sure knew how to put on a show! Leopolitan sports fans and guests of the city were delighted to see their beloved Dynamo once again capture the Ukrainian title, knocking off rivals Kharkiv 15-5 in the final. It’s the eighth title for our Ukrainian champions – and fifth in six years. Dynamo’s other titles came in 1997, 2001, 2012, 2014-17. Congratulations Dynamo!

Bodybuilding: WABBA World Championships The WABBA World Bodybuilding Championships were held at Lviv’s Manvich Concert Arena last month after beating out Athens and Barcelona last year for the bid. Some of the world’s fittest musclemen and women joined their Ukrainian counterparts in the Western Ukrainian capital to show off their sparkling skills and stunning appearances. The event attracted over 300 athletes from 40 countries that competed in 27 categories, including Man Fitness, Man Physique, Man Model, Athletic Bodybuilding, Miss Wellness, Miss Shape, and Miss Body. Ukrainian athletes were very successful at the competition, winning top team – ahead of tournament-favourite Italy. Leopolitan fitness fans and guests of the city were happy to see Ukrainian ladies come out on top in the presitigous Miss Bikini category, while Ukrainian Volodymyr Osnik won the Man Physique competition for the first time.

В турнірі взяли участь: КЗ ЛОР "ЛУФК" (Львів), збірна Харківської області, ВК "Маріуполь" та, звісно ж, ВК "Динамо" Львів. Шанувальники нашої команди та гості міста мали чудову нагоду побачити, як динамівці ще раз заслужено стали чемпіонами, подолавши суперників з Харкова з рахунком 15:5 у фіналі. Це вже восьмий титул наших чемпіонів – і п'ятий за останні шість років. Наші ватерполісти були чемпіонами України у 1997, 2001, 2012 та 2014-17 роках. Вітаємо динамівців!

EuroFanz 2019 The EuroFanz festival for football supporters from across Europe returned to Lviv from 28-30 June. Sponsored by Lifecell, this year’s event attracted 20 supporters’ teams from 15 countries to test their footballing skills against each other and donate gifts to some of Lviv’s charitable organisations. Fans of Lviv’s own Karpaty FC showed they know how to play as well as they know how to cheer by making it to the final before falling to supporters of France’s national team. The best way to secure the future payments from the currency devaluation is to determine the price of the supplied goods in UAH equivalent of respective amount in foreign currency (Euro or US dollars). According to Ukrainian legislation the payments between Ukrainian residents shall be conducted in UAH currency. At the same time, it is still possible to determine the price of the goods or price of the contract in UAH equivalent of foreign currency. Similar position is confirmed by the court practice. There shall be several essential issues to be taken into account in such case: 1. Still, all the payments shall be conducted in hryvna. The equivalent shall be used only when determining the exact amount in UAH to be paid under the particular invoice or on the payment date stipulated in the contract. 2. It is important to specify in the contract the exact criteria how to determine the currency rate. Faine Misto is one of the biggest multicultural events in Ukraine. Now in its seventh year, the festival attracts nearly 10,000 fans from across Ukraine and neighbouring countries to the spectacular Ternopil Hippodrome. The festival provides a complete holiday experience with non-stop parties, great live concerts, and a diverse international community enjoying all the tourism hospitality the city has to offer. This year’s event will offer three festival stages – the Main, Light, and Dark – featuring music bands from Ukraine and Europe. BANDERSTADT 2–4 August in Lustk and Rovantsi The name ‘Banderstadt’ comes from a song from the Ukrainian rock group My Khloptsi z Banderstadtu, an ironic and post-modern response to Soviet (and later Russian) propaganda blaming Western Ukrainians (and then Ukrainians in general) for being nationalists. This open-air festival aims to promote Ukrainian language, culture, values, and music while popularising the Ukrainian national idea among youth. Banderstadt is a familyfriendly festival that promotes a healthy lifestyle – it’s an alcohol-free event and entrance is free for children under 12. In addition to rock concerts, the programme includes movie screenings, literary discussions, and an arts and crafts fair, meaning there’s something for everyone in the family. Tickets are 400 UAH. TUSTAN MEDIEVAL FESTIVAL 2–4 August at Tustan Fortress in the village of Uruch (Skole region) There are many amazing places hidden in the Ukrainian Carpathians, where history was created and legends were born. The Tustan Fortress, located in the village of Urich, has a special historical aura and has always been a link to Ukraine’s past. So, it’s no wonder that back in 2006 one of Ukraine’s most popular medieval festivals was born here. Aiming to popularise Ukrainian history and to deepen historical understanding among today’s youth, this year’s rich programme from 2-4 August will see hundreds of re-enactors from across the country showcase their passion for Ukraine’s glorious past. Re-enactment is a fun and informative endeavour that involves research, combat training, and learning the arts, crafts, and skillsets of a bygone era. Festivalgoers can experience history coming to life through siege weaponry, armour, pottery,

ZAXID FEST 2019 16–18 August in the village of Rodatychy (Lviv Region) Each August for the last decade, Zaxid Fest has taken over Western Ukraine. Thanks to the outstanding music and remarkable location, Zaxid Fest has become the most successful music festival in Western Ukraine and one of the country’s most powerful art events. The festival lineup is peppered with international artists, while many of the top acts in Ukraine perform as well. REPUBLICA FEST 2019 30–31 August in Khmelnytskyi 6–8 September in Kamyanets-Podilskyi Respublica Fest is a festival of modern street art in all its manifestations: music, photography, dance, graffiti, and more. МУЗИЧНИЙ ФЕСТИВАЛЬ "ФАЙНЕ МІСТО" 25–28 липня на Тернопільському іподромі "Файне місто" – одна з найбільших культурних подій в Україні. Сьогодні на сьомому році свого існування фестиваль збирає навколо своїх сцен близько 10 тисяч шанувальників з усієї України та сусідніх країн. БАНДЕРШТАДТ 2–4 серпня в Луцьку і Рованцях Назва "Бандерштадт" походить зі знаменитої пісні "Братів Гадюкіних" "Ми хлопці з Бадерштадту", іронічної та постмодерністської відповіді на радянську (а пізніше російську) пропаганду, що звинувачувала західних українців (а потім українців взагалі) в націоналізмі. Цей фестиваль під відкритим небом має на меті популяризувати українську національну ідею серед молоді українською мовою, культурою, цінностями та музикою. "Бандерштадт" – це сімейний фестиваль, який сприяє здоровому способу життя – це безалкогольний захід, а вхід безкоштовний для дітей до 12 років. Крім рок-концертів, програма включає кінопокази, літературні дискусії, ярмарок мистецтв і ремесел – тож кожен знайде щось цікавого для себе. Вхід – 400 грн.
