Sous le haut patronage de S.A. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, ministre des Affaires étrangères et président d’honneur du Festival d'Abu Dhabi, l'Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation (ADMAF) a inauguré son programme Art at Embassies avec une table ronde tenue à l'ambassade des EAU à Paris.

Modéré par l'éditrice et écrivaine Melissa Gronlund, l'événement intitulé « L'évolution de la scène artistique des Émirats Arabes

Unis », accueillait la conservatrice Maya El Khalil, et l'artiste conceptuelle émirienne

Maitha Abdalla qui ont mis en lumière l'extraordinaire parcours de 50 ans de la scène artistique des EAU, discutant de sa croissance, de sa transformation et de sa contribution au paysage artistique mondial.

Under the honorary patronage of H.H Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and honorary patron of the Abu Dhabi Festival, the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation inaugurated its Art at Embassies program with a panel discussion held at the Embassy of UAE in Paris. Moderated by editor and writer Melissa Gronlund, the event, titled "The Evolution of the UAE Art Scene," featured prominent curator Maya El Khalil, and Emirati conceptual artist Maitha Abdalla who shed light on the extraordinary 50-year journey of the UAE's art scene, discussing its growth, transformation, and contribution to the global art landscape. Cette table ronde témoigne de l'engagement de l'ADMAF à promouvoir les échanges culturels et à développer les talents artistiques. Elle démontre l'importance de la diplomatie culturelle et du dialogue interculturel.

Son Excellence Hend Al Otaiba, ambassadrice des Émirats Arabes Unis en France, a déclaré dans son discours d'ouverture : «Les arts et la culture sont une composante essentielle de la mission de l'ambassade des Émirats exchange and nurturing artistic talents. It emphasized the importance of cultural diplomacy and cross-cultural dialogue. Her Excellency Hend Al Otaiba, UAE ambassador to France, said in her opening speech: "Arts and culture are an essential component of the mission of the UAE Embassy in Paris, and a fertile ground on which our bilateral relationship with France has flourished. They are at the heart of both our societies and therefore constitute a pillar of Franco-Emirati diplomacy. ADMAF could not have chosen a better country than France to launch its program."

Her Excellency Huda Alkhamis-Kanoo, Founder of the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation, Founder and Artistic Director of Abu Dhabi Festival, said: “We are pleased to partner with the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in France to launch the first event of our latest landmark initiative, Art at Embassies, which reaffirms our commitment to fostering cultural exchange and forging deeper connections between nations and cultures through the power and influence of art. Art at Embassies aims to strengthen cultural partnerships and cultural diplomacy, opening doors for Emirati artists to showcase their talents on the global stage, spreading knowledge to inspire profound change and foster greater understanding among nations”. Her Excellency touched upon the significance of the initiative, which reflects the UAE’s commitment to learn and to listen and its determination to be heard in the international conversation on art and culture.

ADMAF's history of collaboration with France further strengthened the importance of the event. Over the years, ADMAF has actively fostered cultural ties between the UAE and France through various initiatives and partnerships. Founded in 1996, ADMAF is one of the oldest, not-forprofit cultural organisations in the Arabian Gulf. Pioneering new artistic practices, it seeks to deepen global cross-cultural dialogue and inspire a renewed interest in the creativity of the UAE and Arab world. Often in partnership with leading national and international institutions, it delivers multidisciplinary initiatives for people of all ages, backgrounds and nationalities through the Abu Dhabi Festival, yearround youth platforms and community programmes. In 2016, Abu Dhabi Festival, organised by ADMAF, celebrated France as the Country of Honour with concerts by Orchestre de Paris featuring the cellist Xavier Phillips and organist Thierry Escaich as well as the world premiere of an orchestral concert adaptation of the pillar of French literature, The Little Prince. Abu Dhabi Festival, has consistently showcased exceptional artistic performances, exhibitions, and fostered dialogue between nations. Previous editions have celebrated French artists, including renowned ballet dancer Sylvie Guillem, composer Gabriel Yared, and graphic designer Philippe Apeloig.

L'historique de collaboration de l'ADMAF avec la France a encore renforcé l'importance de l'événement car au fil des ans, la fondation a activement favorisé les liens culturels entre les deux pays à travers diverses initiatives et partenariats. Fondée en 1996, l’ADMAF est l'une des plus anciennes organisations culturelles à but non lucratif du golfe arabique. Pionnière de nouvelles pratiques artistiques, la fondation cherche à approfondir le dialogue interculturel mondial et à inspirer un regain d'intérêt pour la créativité des EAU et du monde arabe. Souvent en partenariat avec des institutions nationales et internationales de premier plan, l’ADMAF propose des initiatives multidisciplinaires pour les personnes de tous âges, de tous horizons et de toutes nationalités par le biais du Festival d'Abu Dhabi, de plateformes pour les jeunes tout au long de l'année et de programmes communautaires. En 2016, le Festival d'Abu Dhabi, organisé par l'ADMAF, a célébré la France comme «Pays d'Honneur» grâce à des concerts de l'Orchestre de Paris avec le violoncelliste Xavier Phillips et l'organiste Thierry Escaich ainsi que la création mondiale d'une adaptation en concert orchestral du pilier de la littérature française, Le Petit Prince. Le Festival d'Abu Dhabi a constamment présenté des performances artistiques exceptionnelles, des expositions, et encouragé le dialogue entre les nations. Ses éditions précédentes ont accueilli des artistes français, dont la célèbre danseuse de ballet Sylvie Guillem, le compositeur Gabriel Yared et le graphiste Philippe Apeloig.
