The Brothers Size TARELL ALVIN MCCRANEY (Playwright) is best known for his acclaimed trilogy, The Brother/Sister Plays: The Brothers Size, In the Red and Brown Water, and Marcus; Or The Secret of Sweet. They have been performed at McCarter Theater in Princeton; The Public Theater in New York; Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago; at a trio of theaters in the Bay Area: Marin Theatre Company, ACT, and Magic Theatre; as well as the Young Vic in London (Olivier Award nomination) and around the world. Other plays include The Breach (Southern Rep), Wig Out! (Sundance Theatre Institute, Royal Court, and Vineyard Theatre - GLAAD Award for Outstanding Play), and American Trade (Royal Shakespeare Company and Hampstead Theatre). Steppenwolf Theatre Company, where he is an ensemble member, will produce the world premiere of his commissioned play, Head of Passes. Tarell was the Royal Shakespeare Company’s International Playwright in Residence in 2008-2010, where he co-edited and directed the Young People’s Shakespeare production of Hamlet which toured throughout the UK and was presented at the Park Avenue Armory in New York. He is the recipient of the prestigious Whiting Award and Steinberg Playwright Award, as well as London’s Evening Standard Award for Most Promising Playwright, the inaugural New York Times Outstanding Playwright Award, and the inaugural Paula Vogel Playwriting Award. He is a graduate from the New World School of the Arts High School, the Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago, and the Yale School of Drama. He is a resident playwright at New Dramatists and a member of Teo Castellanos/D-Projects in Miami.

BOBBIE BELL (Director) is honored to be entrusted with the music of the preeminent poetical voice of American theatre, Tarell Alvin McCraney. Previous directing credits at Mad Cow include: Clybourne Park, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, August: Osage County, The Pitmen Painters, The Year of Magical Thinking, The Caretaker, A Delicate Balance, and two stints for the Science Play Festival. His acting credits for the herd include Mister Kirby in You Can’t Take It with You, Father Jack in Dancing at Lughnasa, Old Actor in The Fantasticks, and 22 characters including the title role in Macbeth. He also performed with Orlando Ballet as Sancho Panza in Don Quixote and Doctor Coppelius in Coppélia. He twice won the Florida Playwrights Competition for his plays: Pascua De Flores and Of: A Play of Artemis. Bobbie dedicates his small contribution to the production to his brother Brett Michael Bell. JIM BRASWELL (Ogun Henri Size) is excited to return to Mad Cow Theatre after a 12-year absence, having last appeared here in Dael Orlandersmith’s Yellowman. Jim’s recent stage credits include the portrayal of Jupiter Evans, Thomas Jefferson’s slave, at the Orlando Fringe Festival; Doc Gibbs in Our Town ; and Oberon/Theseus in A Midsummer Night’s Dream for Theatreworks in Colorado Springs, Colo. Other theatre credits include Angels in America I & II, Ain’t Misbehavin’, and Burn This. Television credits: Numb3rs, Nip Tuck, Taina, and the NBC soap Passions. Jim is widely known to Disney World audiences for his work on The American Idol Experience, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Play It, Festival of the Lion King, and others.
The Brothers Size ERIC C. CRAFT (Scenic Designer) has worked in theatre, theme-park construction, museums, retail, conventions, show production, and video/film production for more than 30 years. As an instructor, he enjoys teaching such courses as SFX makeup; theatre history, art and design; stagecraft and live show production; art direction; and fabrication. Eric has a B.F.A. from Florida State University and an M.F.A. from the University of Utah. He has worked in regional theater for Pioneer Theatre Company, Sacramento Theater Company, Utah Shakespeare Festival, Oklahoma Shakespeare Festival, Florida Studio Theater, and others. Eric recently designed sets for Romeo and Juliet and A Streetcar Named Desire with Bobbie Bell. CLINTON HARRIS (Elegba) is overjoyed to return to Mad Cow Theatre and tell stories with this dynamic cast and crew. Clinton is a native of Atlanta and an alumnus of the Freddie Hendricks Youth Ensemble of Atlanta, and he majored in theatre at Albany State University. He has toured internationally as a

ERIN MINER (Lighting Designer) The Brothers Size marks Erin’s 78th show with Mad Cow Theatre. When not at Mad Cow, she can be found in the fields of Apopka High School as a drama teacher. STELSON TELFORT (Oshoosi Size) is honored to be making his Mad Cow debut in The Brothers Size. Born and raised in Orlando, he is finishing an associate’s degree in theatre at Valencia College and will be pursuing a BFA in acting at the University of Central Florida. Stelson’s credits include Fortune in Ruined (Valencia College), Himself in Division: The Trayvon/Jordan Project (Valencia College), Demetrius Williams in Hoodies (Beth Marshall Presents at the Orlando Fringe), and Big Daddy Brubeck in Sweet Charity (Valencia College). LAURA IRENE YOUNG (Costume Designer) is an alumna of Youngstown State University, where she received a BFA in musical theatre. She received an MFA in performing arts and a MA in arts administration from Savannah College of Art and Design. Laura’s costuming credits include: The Miracle Worker, Dearly Departed, and Almost, Maine at Youngstown State University; and The Wizard of Oz at Theatre West Virginia. She also designed Shatter for the Orlando Fringe. Laura thanks her Orlando artistic family, especially Faith, who inspires her every day.
