Voter Registration Drive by Susana Cook
Eva is helping women register to vote when she gets stuck in an elevator. To help her through this traumatic event, she recalls what the suffragettes in the 1910’s went through. Content Warning: language SUSANA COOK (Playwright) is an Argentinean-born New York-based experimental performance artist who has been writing and producing original work for over 20 years. An iconic figure of the East Village art scene from the mid 1990’s to the present, she has presented over 17 original plays at Dixon Place, P.S. 122, W.O.W Cafe Theater, Ubu Rep and The Kitchen, among others. Her ensemble plays and monologues irreverently, boldly and cleverly tackle racism, homophobia, classism, and animal rights. Behold: Colored and Woman Inconceivable by MJ Perrin It’s been a long-held belief that the women in Mace’s family go insane. Mace’s mother believes that the cause is a cursed, old hand-me-down chest; she is determined to get rid of it while Mace is compelled to keep it. Regardless of one’s perspective, a treasure or a curse, Mace is certain that the women in her family are its guardians, willing to sacrifice their sanity protecting the history preserved inside. Content Warning: profanity. MJ PERRIN (Playwright)’s plays have been produced throughout the United States. She’s a Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist Awardee for Playwriting and a former member of the New Perspective Theatre’s Women’s Work Short Play Lab in New York City where her short play, Stepping Through Blood, was produced. Perrin received her MFA in Theatre Arts from Towson University, where she is an Adjunct Professor III. She is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America.

Bitter Flower by Jennifer Natalya Fink Follows the relationship of two major figures in the suffrage movement, Ida B. Wells-Barnett and Jane Addams, and the fault lines of black and white feminists that continue to the present day. Content Warning: death, racism, abuse JENNIFER NATALYA FINK (Playwright) is the author of five acclaimed novels, including the Doctorow Prize-winning Bhopal Dance. She is the author/deviser of 30+ performance works. Her long-running collaboration with Julie Laffin in Toxic Tango and Underbelly has been produced internationally. Fink is a Professor of English and affiliated faculty in Theater and Performance Studies at Georgetown University, where she is Director of the Program in Disability Studies. Her disability memoir, All Our Families: Finding Our Disability Lineages, is forthcoming from Beacon Press in 2021. Fink received her PhD in Performance Studies from NYU and her MFA in Performance from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her recent writing includes: Mirror Butterfly her jazz opera for climate refugees with Afro Yaqui Music Collective at New Hazlett Theater (Pittsburgh), Kennedy Center Millenium Stage (DC), National Ensemble Theater plenary (Tucson), 1st Mesopotamian Water Forum (Kurdistan, Iraq), and released on Innova Records at Red Rooster/Ginny’s and the National Jazz Museum (Harlem); Temptation of the Fresh Voluptuous for the Nisville Jazz Teatrski Festival (Serbia), Red Tape/Art Institute Ballroom (Chicago), Coe Marquis Series Sinclair Stage (Iowa); and haiku for Bella Gaia with NASA holographic imagery. With her Café Antarsia Ensemble she wrote Previously Blue, Three Graces, Wellspring, Judges 19: Black Lung Exhaling which have toured all over the US and internationally. A Sentiment by Elaine Romero Set in 1848, the night before the signing of the Declaration of Sentiments at Seneca Falls, Lucretia Mott, a social reformer, pleads with her husband of the importance for women to fight for their rights to equality. ELAINE ROMERO (Playwright) is an award-winning playwright who has had her plays presented at the Alley Theatre, Arizona Theatre Company, Actors Theatre of Louisville, the Kennedy Center, across the U.S. and abroad. Recent commissions: Ford’s Theatre (Modern Slave), Arizona Theatre Company (Title IX), Goodman Theatre (Playwright’s Unit, A Work of Art), NNPN/Kitchen Dog Theater (Ponzi, Edgerton New American Play Award). This past season new productions included Like Heaven (Arizona Repertory Theatre), Undocumented (Cal State Dominguez Hills), Revoluciones (Latino Theatre Company with Foro Shakespeare/Mexico), and Bloody River (Union College).Her war tetralogy includes Graveyard of Empires (Blue Ink Playwriting Award), A Work of Art, developed as part of the Goodman Theatre Playwright’s Unit, and the upcoming Rain of Ruin. Graveyard of Empires (16th Street Theatre) and A Work of Art (Chicago Dramatists/Goodman Theatre) premiered in Chicago, and Revoluciones (LATC). KENDALL ALLEN is a Philly based Theatre Artist, Stage Manager, and Director ... but right now she’s her mother’s Ub*r Driver, a Gardener, a learner of Tik Tok Dances, and an amatuer bread baker. Very happy to participate in creating theater in any format, she’s delighted to be collaborating with Mad Cow for the first time! Select Theatrical Credits Include: Being/With: Home (Fringe Festival, 2020), Taxilandia (Baryshnikov Arts Center), CARTOGRAPHY (Natl. Touring Production), and Ghetto Hors D’oeuvres (JACK). She has created original works on projects like EXTRA, Slut!, and a Podcast called Jonah’s Arc. Kendall studied Theatre; Design and Production at Fordham University. NATHAN AVAKIAN is a songwriter, film composer, and organist based in New York City. His music has recently been featured in web series including The Creative Quarantine Sessions (Alex Whittenberg) and Makers Who Inspire: Ronny Cheing (Henry Thong). Nathan frequently scores historic silent films for Thanhouser Company Film Preservation and contemporary silent films by various filmmakers. Nathan also works as a freelance theatrical lighting designer in New York City. In 2014 he received a B.F.A. degree in lighting design
from Purchase College, State University of New York. COURTNEY BAHR returns to Mad Cow where she had the wonderful opportunity to play Birdie in The Little Foxes, Patient Griselda/Janine/Nell in Top Girls, and Hesione in Heartbreak House. Originally from NY, Courtney has worked in NYC, Barter Theater in VA, toured Nationally with Cyrano (Roxanne), and appeared in many local productions. Prayers for this arts community and all the talented people here in CFL. MEREDITH BARTMON is a Dramaturg and Actor based in Palm Beach County. What a joyful relief it is to be in a space with all of these remarkable women continuing to celebrate storytelling with the Women’s Voices Festival and Mad Cow Theatre. CYNTHIA BECKERT has performed in four seasons’ worth of plays at Mad Cow Theatre, including Men on Boats, Top Girls, Rapture Blister Burn, The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife, Grounded and The God Game. This season she has directed five short plays in Science PlayFest 2020, and Sapience in the recent Women’s Voices Play Festival. Cynthia has also led workshops for Mad Cow’s She Speaks program, designed to empower young women and girls to use their voices. Cynthia teaches acting, dance and theatrical movement, and has an MA in Theatre from FSU, and an MFA in Acting from UC Irvine. JEN CHIA is a New York based actor excited to be back at Mad Cow Theatre! BLUE ESTRELLA Blue Estrella began her theatre career at SAK Comedy Lab as the FOH Operations Manager and then became a lighting/sound improviser for the live shows while obtaining her theatre degree from Stetson. Blue is currently the Resident SM for Beth Marshall Presents and Play-In-A-Day. Her BMP credits include Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told, Save Me Dolly Parton, and girl. Other SM credits include Gross Indecency and It All Started at the Radisson Inn (Wanzie Presents), Wild Party (Theater West End), Black Wood (Schneider) & Men on Boats (Mad Cow). Besides SM-ing, Blue has choreographed the Ocoee Knights Visual Ensemble since 2016. DUTCHESZ GEMINI is a 28 year old trans activist, host, curator, and drag entertainer raised in New York who now splits her time between Chicago and Minneapolis. Her recent credits include producing Redbull’s digital festival, Diamond Formation, and starring in Burning Coal Theatre’s production of Gerrymanderia. As a member of the Chicago Black Drag Council, Dutchesz is helping to transform the city’s nightlife into a more accountable and equitable scene. LAURA MANSOORI is happy to be virtually back in the pasture at Mad Cow! She is a freelance choreographer and yoga instructor, as well as a teaching artist for Theatre South Playhouse. Performing both locally and internationally for nearly a decade, her credits include Rock of Ages, Burn the Floor, the off broadway production of Flying Lessons, and the Asia premier of The Secret Silk under the direction of John Tartaglia and Stephen Schwartz. Briana performed most recently in the web series Call Center, filmed in New York City. An Orlando native, Briana is thrilled for her first performance with Mad Cow Theater. ALEXANDER MRAZEK has worked in professional theatre and the corporate entertainment world for over fifteen years and is excited to have the chance to be a part of such a special project. He was last seen at Mad Cow in last year’s It Was a Very Good Year cabaret. Alex has performed at Universal, Disney, and SeaWorld, and has been seen on stage at Orlando Shakes, Hippodrome Theatre, and with Generation Productions. HAYDEN PALMER is an actor and artist currently residing in Tallahassee, Florida. His most recent credits include The Three Musketeers and Henry IV Part 1 (Orlando Shakes). Over the summer he has been involved in audio-based story podcasts including School’s Out Storytime and Murder In Your Ear, as well as starting his own educational comedy podcast Baffled by the Bard. This will be his first online production since the beginning of summer and he is excited to be a part of sharing these stories for the 19th amendment Project. VIRGINIA ROEBUCK was born in Rio Piedras , Puerto Rico and moved to the Central Florida area with her family when she was only 7 years old . She has had the opportunity to play many roles in several shows with the company, Moore Performing Arts and has also starred in the title role of Aida at Highlands Lakeside Theatre. Virginia can now be seen performing as one of the lead vocalists and actresses for many shows in the Central Florida area including the highly acclaimed Festival of The Lion King. She continues to pursue roles in vocal performance and acting as she raises her three beautiful children here in Central Florida. DEVAN SEAMAN is a local Orlando actor who is psyched to be working with Mad Cow again! She can be found around town performing at Universal Studios, and most recently she got to be a part of MCT’s Women’s Voices Festival. She has previously performed at Mad Cow in Rapture, Blister, Burn, and looks forward to future projects with them as well!

Meet the Cast ... MONICA LONG TAMBORELLO is a director, actor, and teaching artist who has worked in the Orlando theatre community for over twenty years. Directing credits include My Life As You and Eggs on Ice with the Women’s Voices Play Festival, Rapture Blister Burn, Grounded, and A Short History of Nearly Everything (Mad Cow Theatre); After Orlando (ATHE Conference 2019); Othello, Henry V, The Taming of the Shrew, The Winter’s Tale, As you Like It, Macbeth, and Hamlet (TYC/Orlando Shakes); and Number the Stars, A Little Princess (Young Actors Theatre, Tallahassee). Acting credits include Lena/Leviticus (Orlando Fringe); Olga/You Can’t Take It With You (Mad Cow Theatre); M’Lynn/Steel Magnolias (CFCA); and Dickens by Candlelight (RSC Productions). ALEXANDER WHITTENBERG is a designer for theatre, film/television, dance and environments. He is based in Orlando where he currently works for Disney Parks Live Entertainment. His designs can frequently be seen on a number of central Florida stages including Mad Cow Theatre and the Garden Theatre. Recent theatrical design credits include All My Sons, The Spitfire Grill, Constellations, Skylight, Destiny of Desire and Jesus
Christ Superstar. Alexander has served as production designer on a series of recent films including The Speed of Time (post-production), Bear With Us and The Archetypes, in partnership with Orange Grove Dance. In the world of television, Alexander works in the art department of Home Shopping Network. He is a proud graduate of The Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Purchase College. ZANTRELL WILLIAMS Born and raised in Jacksonville,FL, she took an interest in performing arts at an early age, performing at the city’s Ritz Theatre. She later obtained a degree in Theatre at Stetson University. While she enjoys acting, her real passions are singing and costume design. KAREL K. WRIGHT is happy to be back in the pasture! Previous roles at Mad Cow include Aoife in Outside Mullingar, Ben Franklin in 1776, Aunt Kate in The Dead, Big Mama in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Ruth Steiner in Collected Stories, and many others. Meet the Cast ... ALYSSA WILL ZEGERS is excited to be working at Mad Cow full time after stage-managing Men on Boats earlier this year. Her recent credits include stage-managing Orlando Shakes’ productions of Snow White, Miss Nelson is Missing, and the world premiere of Jack and the Beanstalk. ERIC ZIVOT Mad Cow audiences may remember Eric as Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman or have seen the shows he has directed for the Herd: Next Fall, Hedda Gabler,Billy Bishop Gores to War, and Mrs. Warren’s Profession. Eric joined the department of Theater and Dance at Rollins College in 2004 and has been an Associate Artist with the Orlando Shakespeare Theater since 2005. At OST he has appeared as Ralph Waldo Emerson; Charm, Claudius; Hamlet Parolles; Alls Well that Ends Well, Malvolio; Twelth Night, Gloucester; King Lear, Jaques; As You Like It, and Macduff; Macbeth.
