Meet the Playwright NICK PAYNE (Playwright) plays include If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet (Bush Theatre and Roundabout Theatre Company, New York), Wanderlust (Royal Court Theatre), Sophocles’ Electra (Gate Theatre), One Day When We Were Young (Paines Plough/Sheffield Theatres and Shoreditch Town Hall), Lay Down Your Cross (Hampstead Theatre), Constellations (Royal Court Theatre and Duke of York’s), and The Same Deep Water as Me (Donmar Warehouse). He is the recipient of the 2009 George Devine Award for Most Promising Playwright, 2012 Harold Pinter Playwright’s Award, and the 2012 London Evening Standard Theatre Award for Best Play for Constellations.

Constellations LISA BUCK (Properties Master) Set designs include The Road to Mecca, Mrs. Warren’s Profession, and Painting Churches (Mad Cow Theatre), Don Pasquale, Abduction from the Seraglio, and Carmina Burana with Cirque du Soleil dancers (Orlando Opera), and Madama Butterfly, II Barbiere di Siviglia, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Tosca, and The Magic Flute (Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra). Scenic charge credits include The Magic Flute (designed by Cary Wong), Later Life (directed by Martin Charnin), Sunday in the Park with George, Enchanted April, and My Name is Asher Lev. Lisa studied painting at Parsons School of Design, Pratt institute, and Cobalt Studios in White Lake, NY. She has won numerous awards for her painting and has written how-to-paint articles for North Light Publications.
ERIC HAUGEN (Lighting Designer) owns an entertainment lighting design firm, Luminous Design Studios, in Winter Garden. He has designed the lighting for numerous theatrical, television, and themed entertainment projects over the past 25 years. Recent projects include being part of the team that lit five new broadcast studios for China Central Television in Beijing, China; several new shows for the Univision television network; the Revenge of the Mummy attraction at Universal Studios-Singapore; and Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Eric’s lighting has been seen off-Broadway in such musicals as The Ark and The Prince and the Pauper, as well as around the country in many regional theatres and opera companies. STEPHEN GIBSON (Stage Manager) recently moved to Orlando from Williamsburg, Va., where he worked at Busch Gardens since graduating with a bachelor’s of fine arts from Boston University. His credits include the Huntington Theatre Company’s Cocktail Hour and Our Town, American Repertory Theatre’s The Donkey Show, and Boston Center for American Performance’s Our Lady and Fallujah. Stephen looks forward to becoming a member of the performing arts community in Central Florida.
KATIA KLEMM (Costume Coordinator) is a student at Valencia College. She was first involved at Mad Cow during Pygmalion, when she assisted with wardrobe, and she is now excited to take a new step as costume coordinator. She would like to thank Tony Simotes for the opportunity and Troupe 4276 for the training and experience that got her to where she is. God bless. since before she was born (literally) and discovered at an early age that her passion lies in managing the stage rather than being on it. She has a BFA in state management from UCF and has spent the last eight years in Tampa as a stage manager at Busch Gardens. GEMMA VICTORIA WALDON (Marianne) is a proud graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and its Academy Company in NYC, and she is equally proud now to be based in Orlando. Credits include Elizabeth in Orlando Shakespeare Theater’s Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, Brutus in Julius Caesar, Rosalind in As You Like It, as well as Almost, Maine, The Boxer, and The Frog and the Princess. Gemma performs daily in Diagon Alley and frequently at Hollywood Studios. She is grateful to be making her Mad Cow debut and thanks all involved. A special thanks goes to her husband. TONY SIMOTES (Director) is happy to return to Mad Cow after his debut last season with Painting Churches and The God Game. Tony is the former artistic director of Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, Mass., which he helped found in 1978, and is also an actor, director, and master teacher of fight and movement. Director at S&Co.: The Tempest and Mother Courage and Her Children with Olympia Dukakis, The Hound of the Baskervilles, As You Like It, The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife, Othello, The Merry Wives of Windsor, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and many others. Recent directing credits elsewhere include The Three Musketeers (Connecticut Repertory Theatre) and The Merchant of Venice (U. Mass. Amherst). He sends thanks to Mitzi and love to his gal Lucy.
ALEXANDER WHITTENBERG (Scenic and Audio Designer) is a designer of theatre, film, and environments. He earned his BFA in scenography from the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Theatre Arts. At Mad Cow, Alexander designed the scenery for The God Game. He also recently designed the settings for The Inspector General, Museum, and Spring Awakening (The Purchase Performing Arts Center); served as production designer for the independent
