Dinner With Friends by Donald Margulies June 19 — July 19, 2015
Mad Cow Theatre Mad Cow Theatre was founded on the belief that the theatre is a dynamic and powerful means of social understanding, as well as a hugely entertaining art form. Through the combination of passionate, skillful acting and compelling, insightful writing, nurtured by an attentive and ever-changing process, Mad Cow presents entertaining works of theatre to an ever-widening audience — promoting, enhancing and celebrating the human condition through art. Mad Cow Theatre is supported in part with public funds from the United Arts of Central Florida, host of power2give. org/CentralFlorida and the Collaborative Campaign for the Arts, and by the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs, and the Florida Council on Arts and Culture, the Florida Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Downtown Development Board, and Orange County through the Arts & Cultural Affairs Program. A great nation deserves great art! Mad Cow is a 501(c)(3) organization and welcomes all donations including funds, materials, time and good will. We are especially delighted when audience members bring others to share the theatrical experience. Dinner With Friends Bobbie Bell (Sound Designer) is delighted to bring his musicology background to the role of sound designer for Dinner With Friends. He has directed eight shows at Mad Cow, and he is directing Clybourne Park later this season. As an actor at Mad Cow, Bobbie has most recently appeared in Dancing at Lughnasa. Bobbie has composed original music for over 40 productions including plays at Theatre Downtown, Valencia College, Seminole State College, and the Orlando Millennial Celebration. He was also granted permission by the Kurt Weill Foundation to arrange the first synthetic electronic orchestration of the original score from The Three Penny Opera for the Kurt Weill Centennial. Brian Brightman (Gabe) is glad to be right back at Mad Cow after appearing in The Philadelphia Story earlier this season. Other previous Mad Cow credits include The Letters, The Understudy, and Dancing at Lughnasa. Brian has performed in the Seattle Fringe Festival, the Writers Theatre in New York
City, and the Shakespeare Center in Los Angeles. He can also be seen in the new NetFlix series Bloodline. Brian would like to thank Mitzi, his acting coach Lauren O’Quinn, and, of course, his beautiful wife of 18 years, Michelle. LISA BUCK (Property Master) Set designs include The Road to Mecca and Mrs. Warren’s Profession (Mad Cow Theatre), Don Pasquale, Abduction from the Seraglio and Carmina Burana with the Cirque du Soleil dancers (Orlando Opera). Madama Butterfly, II Barbiere di Siviglia and Tosca (Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra). Scenic charge: Cary Wong’s The Magic Flute and Later Life with Martin Charnin. Lisa has painted over 50 Mad Cow productions and most recently propped and set-dressed The Philadelphia Story and The Explorers Club. Lisa studied painting at Parsons School of Design, Pratt Institute, Cobalt Studios and earned her BFA in graphic design from the Massachusetts College of Art. She has won numerous awards for her painting and has written how-topaint articles for North Light Publications.

Dinner With Friends Becky Eck (Beth) is excited to be back amongst the Herd after most recently appearing as Liz Imbrie in The Philadelphia Story. This show marks her fifth production at Mad Cow. Previous credits include Death of a Salesman, Enchanted April, and Legacy of Light. Becky graduated with a BA in theatre from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and, upon graduation, toured nationally with the Eckerd Theatre Company based out of Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, FL. Some favorite Orlando credits include 33 Variations, Alice Lost in Wonderland (Beth Marshall Presents), Flight of the Earls (Empty Spaces Theatre Co), Noises Off (Jester Theatre Company), SNACK, and SLEIGH (PB&J Theatre Factory). Becky would like to thank Tim and Lula for giving her the roles she treasures most: wife and mother. Cameron Francis (Tom) is thrilled to be appearing in his first full production
here at Mad Cow Theatre. In February he participated in Mad Cow’s 2nd Annual Science Play Festival, reading the role of Stephen Hawking in God and Stephen Hawking. Cameron is a company member of the Hippodrome Theatre where he has appeared in over 30 productions. Off-Broadway: Dick Sanford in The Flashing Stream. OffOff-Broadway: All In The Timing, High Maintenance, Venus Observed. Television: The Inbetweeners. Film: I Hate Musicals, Frank vs. God and Never Back Down. She is an associate professor of directing & dramatic literature at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia and a Stage

She has also directed readings for both Science Play Festivals at Mad Cow. Ms. Gillman received the 2014 Association for Theatre in Higher Education & the Kennedy Center/ American College Theater Festival Prize for Teaching Innovation for discovering new pathways for student success in the field of theatre through her teaching, directing and scholarship on sciencethemed plays. She would like to thank the Dinner with Friends cast and production team for an amazing collaboration, Mitzi Maxwell, and Shelby Smith. She dedicates this show to Shawn Ellis and Amelie for their steadfast love and support and Roy & Connie Brand for their generous spirit and for creating a beautiful home away from home.

Ame Livingston (Karen) is a selfproclaimed adventure addict and is ecstatic that her nutty journey-of-a-lifetime has returned her to the Mad Cow family. Previous Mad Cow credits include August: Osage County (Karen), Table Manners (Annie), The Cradle Will Rock (Moll), and Standing on Ceremony (Beverly). The day after graduating from Fredonia State University in NY (BFA), she jumped in her Dodge Neon and drove to Orlando, FL where she had accepted a singing gig with the Walt Disney Company and thought that maybe she’d stay a year. Fifteen years later, she’s still singing for the mouse and loving every second of it. Other favorite Florida journeys: Orlando Theatre Project (member), Doubt: A Parable (Sister James), Peter Pan (Peter), and A Streetcar Named Desire at Orlando
Shakespeare Theater. She loves her Wednesday night crew, the loonies she calls friends/family, and her sprout. Carpe Adventure! Madison May (Costume Designer) is a recent transplant to Orlando from Brooklyn, and a graduate of the Pratt Institute with a BFA in fashion design. Stage credits in design include work with Circus Amok Public Theatre in NYC and the Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival in Jupiter, FL, including shows such as Venus and Much Ado About Nothing. Her equity experience includes shadowing on Jersey Boys and the recent revival of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Madison is a full-time pattern maker and project lead at Winfield Murdock Creative Works in Orlando, FL. This is her first production with Mad Cow. Erin Miner (Lighting Designer) Dinner With Friends marks Erin’s 75th show with Mad Cow Theatre. She is excited to be working with Denise. When not at Mad Cow, she can be found in the fields of Apopka High School as a drama teacher. Rebecca Pancoast (Set Designer) will paint just about anything, anywhere. Before fleeing the harsh winters of Pennsylvania, she freelanced painting scenery for a company servicing Madonna, Lady Gaga, and Cirque du Soleil. Happily thawing in sunny Florida, she has been designing and painting for local companies such as Orlando Shakespeare Theater, Orlando Ballet, and Palm Beach DramaWorks. This is her fourteenth show with Mad Cow though ten of them were eight years ago. Thanks to Mitzi, Denise, and all the production staff for making this a very pleasant experience, once again.
Dinner With Friends Dil Smith (Stage Manager) is excited to be working on his ninth production at Mad Cow Theatre. Donald is a Cincinnati native and received a bachelor’s degree from DePauw University, majoring in music and German and minoring in theatre. He designed sound in St. Louis for New Line Theatre’s Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, Cry Baby, and Passing Strange. He recently worked as the stage manager for Photograph 51, I &You, The Letters, Tommy, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Table Manners as the dancing assistant stage manager. Dil is also the assistant production manager at Mad Cow and is excited to be part of the herd. Mad Cow Theatre celebrates Season 18 in its home in downtown Orlando. Mad Cow Theatre is one of Orlando’s most respected professional theatre
companies, presenting compelling works of theatre for a wide range of audiences, with a passion for both classic and contemporary plays representing the best of American and world literature. Mad Cow Theatre attracts the area’s most talented and gifted actors, designers, and directors. A mainstay of the company is its dedication to the process of creating theatre, incorporating in-depth rehearsal and research periods along with a nurturing collaborative process. The company has received numerous awards, including Arts Innovator of the Year (United Arts of Central Florida), “Best Place to See a Play”(Orlando Sentinel). “Best Live Theatre” (Orlando Weekly), “Best Local Theatre Company” (Orlando Magazine), and “Best Performance Theatre” (Orlando Business Journal).
