Mad Cow Theatre Mad Cow Theatre was founded on the belief that the theatre is a dynamic and powerful means of social understanding, as well as a hugely entertaining art form. Through the combination of passionate, skillful acting and compelling, insightful writing, nurtured by an attentive and ever-changing process, Mad Cow presents entertaining works of theatre to an ever-widening audience — promoting, enhancing, and celebrating the human condition through art. Mad Cow Theatre is supported in part with public funds from the State of
Florida, Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs; the Florida Council on Arts and Culture; the Florida Arts Council; the National Endowment for the Arts, the Downtown Development Board; and Orange County through the Arts & Cultural Affairs Program. A great nation deserves great art! Mad Cow is a 501(c)(3) organization and welcomes all donations including funds, materials, time, and goodwill. We are especially delighted when audience members bring others to share the theatrical experience.

lyrics for the musical Fun Home (with music by composer Jeanine Tesori), winner of five 2015 Tony Awards including Best Musical. Lisa and Jeanine were the first all-woman team to ever receive a Tony for best score.Honors : Guggenheim fellowship, a Doris Duke Performing Artists Award, and the Cal Arts/Alpert Award. ALISON BECHDEL (Cartoonist) When her father dies unexpectedly, graphic novelist Alison dives deep into her past to tell the story of the volatile, brilliant, one-of-a-kind man whose temperament and secrets defined her family and her life. Moving between past and present, Alison relives her unique childhood playing at the family’s Bechdel Funeral Home, her growing understanding of her own sexuality, and the looming, unanswerable questions about her father’s hidden desires. Fun Home is a refreshingly honest, wholly original musical about seeing your parents through grown-up eyes.

went on to be the third most-produced play in America in the 2014-2015 season, and earned nominations for best play from the Outer Critics Circle and the Lucille Lortel awards. The Roundabout Theatre Company produced Significant Other (2015) Off-Broadway at the Laura Pels Theatre. The play involves the lives of four college friends and their search for relationships. It was included in the New York Times Top Ten Productions of 2015. [13] Significant Other is forthcoming from Samuel French. The play was produced by the SpeakEasy Stage Company, Boston Massachusetts, in September to October 2016. Harmon explained the premise: “How do you make life work for yourself when you feel that you’re not living the life you’re supposed to be living or want to be living? And how do you deal with that when the changes that you need to make are in some ways outside of your control?” Harmon further noted that he did not intend to write a comedy. “I honestly thought that I’d written the saddest play ... I don’t write thinking about the comedy. I am genuinely always surprised when something winds up being funny.” Admissions opened Off-Broadway at the Lincoln Center Theater, in 2018. The play involves the values and ambitions of a couple who work in an exclusive school and their son. Skintight is a new play commissioned by the Roundabout Theatre Company.
